Our 30+ year old asphalt driveway was a mess: cracked, pot-holed, broken. After getting several estimates it was an easy decision to choose Tim Riccoboni. He was on time for the estimate, took his time explaining the problems, how they could be solved, and what our options were. He had various ideas for the construction and presented several plans and explained all the pros and cons of each. He discussed his installation process, the various grades of materials available, their impact on price, and a schedule. His candor and knowledge was far ahead of the competition. He's a professional and clearly respects his customers. Removal of the old driveway and installation of the new was accomplished in one day. Tim and his crew showed up at 8:00 AM and were done by 4:30 in the afternoon. Clean up was thorough. The results look terrific!

i read reviews in angie's list and saw where tim seemed to be superior. i called him and he promply called back and seemed very personable and down to earth and i spoke to the owner, not the office which is kind of rare these days. he came out gave me fair estimate, and i didn't bother getting another. he told me work involved, told me how he's not one of these big paving companies we all see and know about, me thinking the ones where you wonder if you are doing the right thing going with the big name. i gave it a chance cause of AL reviews. see above for details, then at the end there was an area that had some "dust" residue showing and tim told me it will not be permanent, but knew it bothered us, so days later, i spot him outside with a small torch burning off the residue making it look like it should. i payed only at the end of job, nothing up front.

Tim and his crew were prompt, professional and considerate - leaving the job well done and my property spotless. I am very pleased with my new driveway, and happy that the job was performed just as described. This was an easy, smooth experience. Tim also kindly obliged me by removing an unsightly concrete border that was an eyesore (especially when adjacent to my nice new driveway).

Owner responded promptly to initial phone call and came to my home for an estimate shortly thereafter. He was informative, honest, professional,courteous. I felt that his price was fair. All work was performed in a timely manor. The owner was on the job with his crew. They completed the work within 2 days. It was a job well done and I would recommend this provider without hesitation.

From begining to end, a very professional, well priced and well done experience. Tim came when he said he would for the estimate, was competitively priced with 2 other "A" Angie's list companies and did a wonderful job in a timely fashion, and even came back to answer a question we had after the work was done. All in all, a great experience.

Called for estimate to widen Driveway. Was right on time. Explained the job, cost, and reasons for work. Decided to go with another company due to a lower quote, but would not hesitate to ask him to bid on other work. Thanks

We met Tim at our house and he seemed like a nice guy, but he never provided us an estimate. He measured using his tool to determine the size of driveway we wanted, yet we never heard back from him. My wife could sense that he didn't want any part of this job, which was surprising considering the size of the job. In any event, I would definitely not recommend him or use him ever again based on my experience with him. He says free estimates, yet never gave us one. Not sure why.

The driveway looks absolutely beautiful. The water drains down to the street so it was graded perfectly. The edging in the street is straight line which pulls the whole look together. Tim was very hands on in the whole process. It was a pleasure from beginning to end.

He did a wonderful job. Asphalt looks perfectly smooth and the driveway is angled slightly so that all the water runs away from the house. He and his crew were punctual and very professional. They even replanted a bush for me. Highly recommend him.

He showed up and took detailed measurements with multiple instruments and even checked the grade and pitch of the area to ensure water would run off properly and to the correct area. He is very professional, polite, easy to talk to, and extremely knowledgable. He explained in detail what he was doing and why he felt the way he did. About resurfacing vs new. About sealcoating. This guy knows what he is doing. He knows his business. I like that he does the work himself with his crew without farming it out to contractors. I changed my requirements multiple times and Mr. Riccoboni worked with me to adjust the estimate as per area, quality of underlayment stone, size, shape, and cost. I appreciate that flexibility and willingness to work with customers. We all know life is not cut and dry but dynamic and you have to handle change in a positive way to get the best possible outcome. After dealing with Mr. Riccoboni, I feel very comfortable and extremely confident that the work will be high quality, long lasting, and good looking - all at an attractive price point. I am looking forward to the work and my followup report on it afterwards.

Mr. Riccoboni came to the house to give an estimate in September. I'd hoped the old driveway could be repaired, but he said that was not possible. He explained how and where the old driveway had been poorly pitched so it didn't drain properly, and the Belgian block edging had been installed too high in several places. He said the best thing to do was to remove the existing asphalt driveway and re-do it right, adjusting to compensate for the Belgian blocks which would remain in place. I appreciated his taking the time to explain the work carefully and politely. He wrote out a proposal with specifications for the work and materials that would be used, and his price for the job. I had not gotten any other estimates but his price was less than we paid 8 years previously for the poorly done work. Since he had several other jobs in progress he couldn't do the work right away but would give me a call when he was ready. He called in late October and the driveway was replaced on Oct. 31, 2011. The crew arrived at 8:00 a.m. as promised, and they were done around 2:30 p.m. The men were clearly experienced and professional and each knew exactly what to do. Mr. Riccoboni operated the backhoe and moved the hot asphalt from the large truck onto the driveway. He also operated the rolling machine that compacted the newly laid asphalt. They laid metal plates across the foot of the driveway at the low end near the street while they were working. Mr. Riccoboni explained that the soil there was high in clay and was wet and compressable. It needed to dry and solidify before it could support the asphalt. The metal plates distributed the weight of the backhoe so it wouldn't unevenly compact the wet soil. The plates were removed after asphalt was completely laid and rolled smooth. He marked off the area at the foot of the driveway with yellow caution tape, and advised us not to walk there for 3 weeks while the soil underneath dried out. My husband and I are still parking on the street as of my writing this review. I appreciated Mr. Riccoboni's explanations of how he regraded the driveway, and added extra base material where the soil was wet. The driveway looks excellent.

Used another contractor on Angie's list

Appeared for estimate when promised, gave written estimate, but price higher than other "A" Angie list contractor.

Mr. Riccoboni came a couple of days after I requested an estimate. He surveyed the job and told me he would get back to me in a couple of days with the estimate. That was the last I saw or heard from him. Not one word.

Could not have asked for a better experience

I didn’t use them for the work but he seemed to listen to my concerns more than some of the others. He was less dismissive of my concerns.

The work was performed in one day and was done professionally to my satisfaction on the day it was scheduled to be performed.

I could not be happier. Tim and his crew were on time, professional, and job was exceptionally done. Driveway was given a perfect pitch and grade. Rain runoff is absolutely no problem with no puddles whatsoever.

He came over last week with his team. they ripped out the old driveway. then yesterday they came back and added more gravel and sand and today they came back again and put down the asphalt and rolled it out. they did a great job

Our driveway is a semicircle and was in very poor condition. In addition to cracks and potholes, it collected water near the garage and was very steep and slippery when wet. We also wanted it widened near the front door. When Tim came to give us an estimate, he gave us other ideas about widening the driveway that would be more attractive. The paving material he uses is the same as what is used on roads, so it holds up longer and doesn't need to be sealed every year. Plus, the sealent caused my driveway to become slippery. He always arrived on time, and he and his crew were very professional. They regraded it so it no longer collects water. They did a great job.
