Description of Work: replaced an undercounted toe kick heater. | |Dan came and measured the dimensions, they ordered it and called to schedule. i was told the price was $1,000+ -- owner (Glen) reluctant to break down costs -- $279 for heater, rest for labor, saying 4 hours @ $150/hr. | |Dan and another man came and replaced it in 2 1/2 hrs. | |the next few days i did not need to put up heat, when i did it took the heater 8 hours before it got hot and the fan kicked in to pump out heat. this was intermittent problem. sometimes it was quiet, sometimes a low hum, other times terrible loud banging. |i called them back. | |Dan said i need to get a carpenter in as cabinet floor too low and hitting the motor. HOLZAPPLE measured and ordered the heater. he also told me the aquastat was not working correctly, he would see if they could order a replacement. i was charged for a half hour service call, now the labor is $175/hr. |I got a call from Holzapple a few days later (Sean) -- told me the manufacturer does not make replacement aquastats. when i asked why when they measured for this heater they did not get one that would fit under the cabinet as the old one did. Sean told me they that is the ONLY heater of this type that they carry and they did not have MANY problems with it. (meaning they do have problems). i was then told by Sean my only option would be to replace the entire heater at FULL COST TO ME again. |

Description of Work: We have trees that run directly over the line that connects to the sewers. The roots of the trees cause water backup. They come and clean out the roots so that we don't have floods in our home.

Description of Work: Due to a leak in my kitchen baseboard heating system, approximately 17 feet of cast iron baseboard, was installed. It had to be ordered and took a short period of time, to come in. The heat was shut off and pipes drained of excess water. The work area was covered and the two men removed some furniture. The original baseboard was removed and the sections of new material were put into place and then soldered. The end caps and curved connecting section were then added to duplicate the right angle; two outside walls. Afterwards, the boiler was re-started and everything was checked for correct operation. The guys vacuumed, cleaned up the work space and removed the old material.

Description of Work: I've lived in this area for over 40 years and have used this company because my family always did. While they are generally dependable they have become very expensive. The quality of the work depends upon who you get and that can be iffy. They promise more than they deliver. I had a simple plumbing problem, leaking toilet that had to be reseated and the interior flush mechanism replaced. It was $300! I had asked about replacing fixtures in a small bathroom including the ones in the tub without having to change the entire shower body. The manufacturer went out of business so I couldn't just get replacement parts for the sink and shower handles. One guy said it would be easy and he would call me back with some options. He never did. I called to follow up and they sent another fellow who measured everything and was to have gotten back to me again never did. I called to speak with one of the principals and was treated in a very brusque discourteous manner even though I'd been using them forever. That was the last time I called and won't call again.

Description of Work: Cracked Sewer Pipe Line in my Yard which was backing up sewage into my house.

Description of Work: We had a leak in one of our basement water pipes. It seems that the pipe was worn out. The plumber replaced the pipe, taking about one and a half hours to do so. He then cleaned up the mess and discarded the pipe and all of the refuge.
