Joey Ortiz and the rest of the Total Restoration team are exceptional professionals who were phenomenal to work with, after we sustained water damage in our basement and main floor. Joey is an extremely personable and trustworthy professional/project manager, and I would highly recommend him and the company for your restoration and clean up. He is a total straight shooter, took his time to explain the entire process, was extremely knowledgeable, and put us at ease and helped deal with our insurance company. In a matter of a day, the clean up crew showed up on-time, with all their equipment, gutted and completely dried out our basement, and worked with our insurance company to file a claim. They also took great care to make sure our home remained clean and damage-free, including putting up a temporary barrier to prevent fine dust mess, and covering all of our possessions in watertight bags. Every single employee was both friendly and capable, and everything was spotless after they finished up. The quality of work, not to mention everyone's superior attitudes was highly impressive, and they made our home look brand new. Honest, high-quality work is hard to come by nowadays, but Joey and his team should be the industry standard. Do not hesitate to call them for any of your needs.

Very smoothly with professional service. The entire process was handled by Total Restoration. They filed the insurance claim on my behalf & handled every detail. All my belonging were removed & laundered or dry cleaned & returned folded or on hangers, all bagged in plastic. The firemen left several holes in the ceiling & walls. These were all trimmed & securely covered until they were patched & primed. They did a great job & while I hope to never require their services again, I would not hesitate to contact them if the need comes up.

Total Restoration was very timely in responding to our call. The owner/manager came first and told us that our problem was not as bad as most that he sees. Within hours he had a crew come and remove our carpet and empty out the contaminated items. They cleaned, chemically treated and then left dehumidifiers. The entire cleanup took less than four hours. The work was fine, but the price of $5000.00 for this job was exorbitant... especially when we had been told the job was not extensive. The workmen were great - the price was too high. Beware of signing an insurance assignment waiver!!!!

+ -1 moreI feel so very lucky, blessed really -- to have been referred to Chris Roussis and his company Total Restoration Inc. (TRI). They handled every aspect of the remediation, repair and reconstruction following a basement flood in our Queens home. They were fast, professional and their pricing was fair. I expected them to go a good job because they had been recommended to me by a trusted advisor. What I didn't expect, and it made an enormous difference to me was how responsive and caring each member of the TRI team was. A flood is an awful destructive thing, and the mess and loss is overwhelming. They, and their leader, Chris Roussis, not only got us through it, but did so with an extremely high level of quality and professionalism. I can't thank them enough for what they've done --- and our new basement is beautiful! This is an amazing group of people, who did a superlative job, quickly, professionally, and with care and consideration for the loss and upset we were coping with. They are the absolute best people to hire if you have a flood or damage that requires quick, effective attention and remediation/reconstruction.
Description of Work: Following a basement flood at our home in Queens, we hired Total Restoration Inc (TRI) for the following remediation and reconstruction work: 1. Clean Up and Pack Out -- They emptied the basement of all its contents and helped us sort through the wreckage separating what could go into their storage facility for safe keeping, what could be restored (e.g. water damaged hardwood furniture) and what would need to be thrown away. They sent a hard working, caring crew, along with packing supplies and a dumpster. They were very understanding that the "loss" was rather traumatic for us, and helped us tremendously. 2. Remediation -- As this was in at the heat of August, mold began to grow very quickly, so TRI immediately demolished the finished basement walls (panelling and sheet rock), had asbestos removal specialists test, remove, then retest the linoleum tile. (I received written certification all the asbestos was properly removed, and the final air test showing the basement 100% clean of any asbestos.) The also brought in several large industrial type dehumidifiers which ran 24/7 for several days to dry out the basement and sprayed every inch to kill mold/prevent further development 3 - Reconstruction - They completely rebuilt the basement, installed new ceramic tile flooring, new walls, doors, molding/trim …everything. They were extremely patient and thorough, and explained all the choices of materials, costs, and timing. They also did all the painting and installation of new shelving units. Their work was impeccable. Their people fantastic. 4 - Worked with my insurance company to get approvals on the work being proposed/performed and arranged for direct billing so I didn't have to lay out thousands of dollars and wait for reimbursement.

+ -1 moreThe company came, cut up sheet rock, removed wet insulation, and provided dehumidifiers and fans. However, they broke a pipe for the washing machine moving things around and denied it was their fault. They also failed to remove subflooring that we were sure would cause mold. They were asked to remove the flooring multiple times. They told us it would be part of the renovation and repair. When the flooring was removed, there was mold underneath. We did not use them to repair the damage.
Description of Work: Clean up and dry out following burst pipe.

The owner came over, spoke English, and assessed the damage. They said that they would remove anything damaged. When the people arrived to do work, the only English speaker (the owners son) left. I have to assume that they were not trained in any way, and did not seem to understand what their job was. They were told to remove anything that was wet or damaged. They removed walls that were not damaged, destroyed parts of my home, and lost 2 crystal chandeliers that were not a part of the damage. First they said they stored them safely, then the owner accused me of stealing them and trying to claim the insurance money. When I called him out on that, he said that they must have been placed on the rubbish pile. Everything in the rubbish pile was placed in large black bags and taken away. It turns out that he is a friend of the agent at the insurance company (he told us that they were friends). When I told the insurance company that there was a problem, he gathered everyone together at my house for a meeting. That is when I was accused of stealing my own possessions. My home was in worse shape when they left, and I had to spend $80,000 out of pocket (insurance only gave me only $30,000) to repair my home. I would advise anyone who needs work done in their home to hire their own insurance adjuster.
Description of Work: The insurance company sent them after a pipe burst in the upstairs bathroom and put 3 inches of water in the downstairs, soaking floors, walls, and furniture. They were in my home 3 times, and left debre in my driveway for weeks. They left me without a working bathroom for weeks, and I STILL don't have a working kitchen.

+ -1 moreMOST EVERYTHING WAS OKAY, NOT GREAT OR WONDERFUL, JUST OKAY. THEY DIDN'T GET SOME OF THE ITEMS CLEAN AND THEY RUINED SOME OF THE FURNITURE AND SOME OF THE CLOTHING.
