After the measurements were taken, I did not receive anything. Recently, I was informed by the owner, John, that he was faced with serious health issues. These issues kept him out of work and he was unable to provide documents per agreement. Having been in that situation myself, yes, I would use his service again, when I am in a better financial situation. John did contact me to explain the problem and apologize for not fulfilling his obligations. We did resolve the issues and a refund, will be issued to me. Appreciated that John brought up the issue of a refund. I didn't have to ask for it. Taking everything into consideration, I will contact JSM Home Improvements in the future.

Everything went very well, workmanship was excellent I would use them again.

I contacted JSM Home Improvements because I wanted more room for my bedroom which required moving the wall separating the bedroom and living room. Initially I wanted the wall moved about a foot and half however, where I wanted to move the wall was in the middle of an overhang where the heating ducts are. John effectively diagnosed the situation and informed me that if I moved the wall to the middle of the overhang it would require moving the ducts which would make it a bigger job. His recommendation of moving the wall to the end of the overhang was the best move. John even went as far as to measure the rooms where the new wall would be and it was ample space for each room. John and his crew were dependable and accurate in carrying out the project to a successful conclusion. Their quality of work reflects high professional standards. I am going to use JMS again to work on my floors and kitchen

John provided us with a professionally prepared quote, detailing all the different aspects of the renovation plan. Even though we did not engage John to do the project,, the decision was made based on other factors than service and price.

From the very start John has been very pleasant and professional. We started off with several quotes to compare with and his pricing was not the most expensive nor the cheapest HOWEVER, he was the most professional, the nicest, and the most straightforward we ever dealt with. All of the contractors I called were from Angie's list, and I can say I am disappointed with most of them since I started calling those companies rated A. Since our "job" is considered small, in terms that it is not in the $50-100,000 amount there were 1 or 2 that completely ignored our messages. One company we called, and talked to the wife or secretary of the owner actually laughed when we said that my husband will do the tile work and the finishes and she said that, "Why will your husband do the tile work? It's just a few hundred dollars more? Unless he really,really wants to do it" And she was very condescending. Maybe to her it's just a few hundred dollars, but for people like us..a few hundred dollars saved, is still a few hundred dollars saved. Let's just say we are not hiring that contractor EVER, Even if we hit the lottery. I wondered how they got an "A" on Angie's list. Other contractors could'nt understand what we wanted done. Going back to John, it was so easy to talk to him about what we wanted done and what we needed. He understood what needed to be done and it was not an issue whether my husband was gonna do the finishes. He actually went back several times and sent his plumber and electrician to make sure we all had an understanding of what it is to be done.Our start date got pushed back since there were situations that occured which was beyond both our control but we were very flexible with the schedule anyway. We decided on the start date and he said it will be finished in 4 days. It was finished in 4 days. They worked from morning to late evening, cleaned up after themselves and his workers were polite and a cheerful bunch. Do not be deceived, he does look young but he definitely knows what he was doing. We also had several issues that happened during that week. While they were working downstairs our upstairs tub suddenly decided to leak, went through the ceiling and gave John a little shower. (Sorry about that) But that was actually perfect timing because when they opened it up there was evidence of prolonged small leaks. Bottomline, they fixed it and barely charged me for it. I added the idea of the slop sink last minute and they only charged me for the price of the sink. My husband was very impressed with the quality of the work done and I was very happy that we finally had the shower installed. It has been on my to-do-list for a very long time. I wanted to write a good review because people like John deserves it, he cares for his work, his people and his customers and for us that is a start of a beautiful working relationship. We would not hesitate to call him again for other jobs and would vouch for the company in a heartbeat.

John was extremely professional from the start of this process. I felt that his pricing war fair and detailed. The work done by John and his crew was fantastic. One of the things I liked when I first met John was that he said he would be around for the majority of the job and that he did most of the work himself. The two guys working with John were great as well - very nice. And every night when they left you wouldn't know they were in the house all day - extremely clean.

My husband and I were very happy with John's services. He was very professional and had much patience for all our questions. His crew too was very polite and professional. John does excellent work and you can tell he knows what he is doing. We felt confident from the start that he knew his stuff. After completing all, we were extremely happy. He made our house feel like new. And another important note, he and his crew cleaned up very well after each task. We had interviewed a couple of other contractors but found John the easiest to talk to and very knowledgeable. And my husband and I found his prices to be very fair. That too of course was important. We plan to work with John again on other projects and have already recommended him to a few people.

While in the process of renovating my home which was built and left "un-touched" since 1972, Home Depot contract team disappeared ~ leaving my master and main bathrooms half-complete and slightly functional. As a single mother, working full time my options were limited and my patience wearing thin... I called JSM via Angie's List and received an immediate response from John. Polite, down-to-earth yet professional - I was immediately impressed with the quality of work, attention to detail and more importantly the fact that John is a "caring" individual who personally ensured that my project was complete to my satisfaction. I have already referred JSM, John and his team to family and friends!

I found John on Angie's list and even though he was extremely busy he managed to fit me in and help me get my kitchen finished.? He was thorough, the quality of the work is excellent and his pricing was very fair.? I will most likely use him again for another project in the spring.

John (JSM) and his team brought 2 of our bathrooms, our kitchen and our master bedroom out of the sixties with skill and professionalism. He worked with us throughout, was mindful of our budget and gave us excellent advice on how to get the most for our money. He also made suggestions based on his expertise and experience that added value to the finished product without adding much cost. His time and price estimates were on budget, his craftsmanship and that of his team were first rate. We are delighted with the results and are using him again next year.

John could not have been more helpful. From the start of the project he worked closely with me to ensure that the project stayed on time and on budget. The quality of the work was great. I would highly recommend him and his crew.

John came early with his crew and moved all the items off the deck. Then prepared replaced the old deck boards and stained the entire deck in sections including around the small pond.The entire crew was professional and neat. John stayed in touch all along the way. Letting us know exactly what to expect. Then when he finished the whole crew had to put everything back! I thought John and his crew were wonderful and hope to use them again for several other projects including a bathroom remodel.

John and his crew are the ones to do your job. John was very personable and open to all ideas you have for an improvement to your home. He was very good at getting back to us when we had questions about our deck project and some other repairs that had to be done to the rear of our home. We finally decided on a composite deck with white railings. Our deck looks amazing and the repairs to the rear of our home (windows, some framing and siding) are seamless. The positive comments on the deck are proof of the quality of craftsmanship John and his crew. He and his company have earned a repeat customer for future projects we have to add to our home. Thank you John.

John understood exactly what I was looking for and even proposed some alterative, creative ideas that ended up working out perfectly in the space. He provided a thorough written estimate before starting the job, which turned out to be entirely accurate, with no surprises. Work commenced the day I was promised and John and his crew showed up early every day thereafter. They kept the jobsite as clean as possible and made sure to protect the floors and appliances during the whole process. All of his assistants were equally as professional and trustworthy. John kept us in the loop and provided a report each evening as to what had been accomplished that day.He provided outstanding customer service, answering all of my (many) questions, and making changes and accomodations to ensure that I was satisfied with the end product. Most importantly, JSM does beautiful work and I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, highly skilled contractor.

One of the deals on Angie's list was offered by JSM Home Improvements to do a Kitchen or Bathroom Design Consultation with 3-D Renderings. Although I am not ready yet to do my kitchen over I did want to get some ideas as to what could be done. John responded immediately and came over to discuss the kitchen within two days. He asked me questions and made suggestions and within a few days he had e-mailed me great 3D pictures of what my "dream" kitchen could look like. After receiving the pictures I had some changes that I wanted to see and John was able to do new pictures within a couple of days. Even though John knew that I wasn't ready yet to do the kitchen he still wanted to discuss pricing with me so that I would have some idea what it would eventually cost. Because of my busy schedule, I wasn't able to meet with him again and then I also had a family emergency which is making me put the kitchen on the back burner. For a small price of $49.00 I feel that John went above and beyond what was necessary and if I do eventually decide to do the kitchen I will definitely give him a call to get a quote.

I hired JTM home improvement to paint conference room at out office.? We needed to freshen up the room urgently for the big meeting and John the owner was be able to accommodate our request.? No only John provided us with reasonable proposal, he did point out some things that he could improve. More than anything I found John and his crew professional, courteous, efficient, neat and skilled.? Job site was left clean.? JTM provided top quality work without any distraction in the office.? I would recommend them to any potential customers.

We put the renovation job out to bid to three contractors. John had the best price and could do the job quickly. Both price and timing were important to us since we had just purchased the home and wanted to complete the renovations quickly as we were going to move in soon after we closed. In addition, we moved into the home during the renovations with our three dogs. John and his contractors were very good about caring for the dogs and making sure they were ok throughout all the work. John was very easy to work with, responsive to our needs and very considerate of our time. Further, John is extremely trustworthy. In fact, we gave him a key to our home so that he could come and go. Also, we constantly added things to John's list and he always was happy to provide estimates and perform the added work without getting behind schedule. We felt that John really cared about doing the right thing by us throughout the entire renovation project.

Owner was honest in that he could not begin work for one week after we finalized paper work. However, work began on time and was finished in the time promised. He was available for consulting any time I needed him, and i was also introduced to every worker who was in my home at any time. John explained the possibilities of unexpected situations, given the age of my home, and when a minor one popped up, professional steps were taken and the company offered to work with us on those unplanned expenses. I could not have felt more comfortable with the staff and I truly appreciate their ability to handle my personality, as i am very detail oriented and prefer specific designs. The job was completed beautifully and i love showing it off!!
