Our company has been in business for over 25 years. Our company is family owned and operated, owner and founder Anthony E. Filippi, has over 35 years of experience in the concrete business. "My family has been in business with concrete for generations, my father was a cement finisher, and his father was a cement finisher, and so on..." ~Anthony Filippi

"All business was conducted by phone. I asked for a driveway to be installed exactly like the house next door. He sent me a picture of my daughters house and said "is this it?" and I said yes, and sent me a picture of the neighbors house and said "And you want it exactly like this?" and I said yes. I have the text conversations saved. He measure incorrectly, and the installers were putting it in without a large section parking pad (like next door) Then he said he would do the remainder at an additional cost. At this point (when a contractor raises the price after they start the job) i usually tell them to do it at the price they gave me or go home, and I would get the NEXT guy, who gave me an accurate price. But I agreed to a bit more at an additional cost of $500. He previously said that he takes credit cards, and I offered to pay it in advance. Then he said he didn't want a CC because they charge 3%, and I offered to pay the additional 3% myself. So, they did the job, and it looks very good, but then he demanded payment by CASH, of the remaining half (my daughter had paid the other half) with only 12 hours notice. I got $2500 cash, but the next day (a Sunday) he demanded I meet him again for the remainder. I explained it was impossible to get another 1000 in cash on a Sunday, because the banks are closed. I offered again to pay the balance by CC and he refused. Then a few hours later I saw that he sent a text saying "OK I'll take the CC" (I had already gone to sleep for the night). The next day he said I should meet him and give him the remaining CASH- I work during the daytime and could not just leave- so I told him to make up his mind, take the credit card or it would have to be the next day- he finally accepted the CC. Then he showed up to 'seal' the driveway without notice, and left because the dog had left muddy footprints. So my daughter cleaned them and waited. He left a message that he had come AGAIN and had to leave. Finally I said that he showed up twice without notice, and we only knew they were coming again because we left a message that the driveway was clean and waiting... He then said his workers were there now, and he could tell them to leave. At this point I had to threaten him with small claims court with the text messages as evidences of his attitude, and he should just finish the job and conclude our business. I also told him not to bother to come give me an estimate for my driveway, and he texted back "why would I want to do business with you when I had to hound you for payment?" I explained that I had offered to pay him several times, including IN ADVANCE, even after he raised his price from the original quote. In short, the work seems to be good- I don't have any complaint abut the driveway- but his attitude leaves very very much to be desired."

"Russ showed up and started digging without me giving him the go ahead. I chalked it up to poor communication between us but let him begin the job. I paid $13,000 for a new driveway. The entire apron is cracked and chunks are missing. I contacted Russ the owner after 5 months to show him the defective concrete. He said he would come out to look at it and never did. I have been trying to get him out to look at it since March 2021. It's October 2021 right now. The concrete is only 1 year old and it looks horrible. Russ is quick to show up and start digging but does not stand by his product. This is not normal cracking. It is severe and defective. So disappointing! I wish I could include pictures and a video of this defective work."

Concrete driveway services FAQs

Concrete can crack from general wear, improper installation, or in response to uneven support from the soil underneath. Small, thin cracks on the surface of aging concrete are usually a result of normal wear and tear, while cracks on new concrete more likely indicate a problem with installation. Larger cracks or uneven steps can signify a much more severe issue. A concrete contractor should be able to diagnose the cause and repair concrete cracks for you.

A concrete driveway lasts between 25 and 30 years, provided you maintain it correctly. Other factors that impact the lifespan of a concrete driveway include your location’s climate and the amount of wear and tear it receives. Heavier vehicles, like RVs and trucks, notoriously create more wear and tear than lighter vehicles and, therefore, might reduce the concrete driveway’s overall lifespan.

With proper maintenance, exterior concrete steps can last 25 to 50 years or more. In most cases, your steps will require some minor repairs over that time frame, including sealing surface cracks and resurfacing to keep them in good condition. Interior concrete steps should last even longer, usually between 50 and 75 years, as they don’t have to stand up to the elements.

The cost to install a concrete driveway is $4 to $15 per square foot on average. Your price heavily depends on your desired concrete finish and driveway size.

For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay an average cost of $1,900. For a driveway at double that size (400 square feet), the average price is closer to $3,800. Plain concrete is significantly more cost-effective, averaging $7 per square foot, whereas stained concrete averages around $19 per square foot.

The cost of resurfacing concrete is $6 per square foot on average, though that cost can range from $3 to $9 per square foot

For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay $600 to $1,800, and for a driveway that is 500 square feet, that cost averages $1,500 to $4,500. Resurfacing your driveway will give you the look and feel of a new surface without the hefty cost.

You may want to hire a concrete floor contractor to check out your home’s concrete surfaces or inspect your home’s foundation for minor damages that they can fix while on site. They may be able to fix cracks in your driveway or garage floor the same day they fix your concrete steps, as well. General concrete repair experts usually won’t be able to handle larger jobs, like leveling a sunken foundation, so you’ll need to hire a structural engineer for bigger projects.
