Once he got his down payment, never scheduled the work, stopped answering phone calls, completely out of contact. Had to go to small claims court and win a judgment. Good luck collecting. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND JACK!!!
Description of Work: Gave an estimate for a new chimney liner, and we stupidly gave him a down payment up front for $1400. Work was never done.

While we didn't lose any money on this company, we wasted a month and will now have to start over with another company. Our entire interaction with this man and this company now seems suspect; the estimates that were nearly identical when 1/3 of the work was cut, the string of excuses. I am appalled by the unprofessional way this company is run.
Description of Work: We called Jack at Budget Chimney because we wanted to install three wold stoves in our home. Jack gave us a verbal estimate that was a bit more than we wanted to spend, so we decided to only install two stoves. We ordered the stoves and waited about two weeks for them to arrive, then called Jack and scheduled an appointment for him to come out and see what parts he would need to get to install the stoves. Jack didn't not show up for the first appointment. After multiple phone calls, Jack called back and said he had gotten bad diesel in his truck and that it wasn't running. He was apologetic and we emphasized with him. No problem, we rescheduled for Thursday between Noon and 2:30 p.m. I waited until 4 p.m. with no sign of him and then left an employee there to wait for Jack. After my partner called him repeatedly, Jack called back and said he was running late because he fell off a ladder and would be there soon. He arrived at 4:30 and gave us another estimate, for installing two stoves this time, that was almost the same as the original estimate for three, but we really needed these stoves installed and it was nearly a month since our first phone call to him. We asked him install them right away and he agreed to come on Saturday at 9 a.m. Saturday was rainy so Jack rescheduled for the following day, Sunday at 9 a.m. When he hadn't arrived by 10 a.m., I called Jack only to be told by Jack that he couldn't get in touch with his employee who had all the parts. I asked him if he was coming that day and he said probably not. He also told me that he had had to go to four stores in order to get the parts to install our stoves. I asked Jack what he would do in my position and told him that I really needed these stoves installed but that he seemed to have a lot of bad luck going on and that I really, really needed these stoves installed ASAP. At this point Jack started yelling at me saying that he didn't appreciate my accusations. I asked him what he meant by that, said that I wasn't accusing him of anything, just repeating word for word what he had said to me. I said I didn't want to screw him by getting someone else when he had already gone to some trouble to get the parts. Jack continued to berate me, saying that he wouldn't do our job, that he wouldn't be making any money on it anyway and then hung up on me.
