Magen's Mark House Painting

She responded promptly and arrived at my house for a meeting of the proposed work. She was very personable and told me I should be receiving an estimate. It has been weeks and I haven't been contacted. I now have to attempt to find a different painter.

Magen arrived on time to assess the job and offer her price. We found her pleasant, energetic, knowledgeable, thorough and professional. We agreed to terms and a date was set. She suggested a particular, highly regarded (Consumer Reports, other trusted info sources), environmentally benign brand of stain which, being ardent environmentalists, pleased us immensely. We provided her with our choice of colors. Again, she arrived on time with her assistant - her father - a professional painter with many years experience. They efficiently set up and set to work; clearly well practiced and professional. She painted a patch of the siding with the color choice we provided. We did not like it at all; how did we go so wrong? She returned to her paint dealer and returned with several small sample cans with colors similar to the one we chose but which she thought we might find pleasing. Her first choice was exactly right. While this was happening, her father was doing the prep and painting the trim. I'm retired from the building trades; an electrician. Though not a painter, I've worked on a number of construction projects where professional painters were plying their trade while I was plying mine. To me, one of the telling skills of a good painter is "cutting a line"; painting one color adjacent to another. In this case, the trim color next to the body color or visa-versa. See the photo I attached. Not only was it perfect, it was done quickly and effortlessly. We asked her to repaint the "rising sun" - created of clapboard and painted in gold - over our front door, on the gable end. She asked us how we wanted it. Being very impressed by her skill at that point, we told her to use her imagination. Absolutely fantastic! See the attached photo. The job was done quickly, cleanup (what little there was of it) was meticulous. We are very, very pleased.

Magen was prompt. She charged what she said she would in the quote. The work was well done. She is serious about her work-stays on task, let me know her schedule ahead of time. She is very professional. I would hire her again, and would recommend her to others.

The paint job needed to be completed in a short period of time. Magen responded a few hours after leaving a message on her answering machine (this was on a Wed.)She came the next morning to see the project and by end of day we had an estimate. I contacted Magen on Friday and told her she had the job! She emailed back that she would like to start on Monday morning as she had time to fit us in to her schedule. Magen arrived on time and ready to work. The job took (2) full days. I'm shaking my head that in less than a week the paint job that needed to be done quickly was complete. Magen was a true professional in every sense of the word. Because of her professionalism and the great job she did we are lining up more painting projects for her to do in the future. I would highly recommend her.

I found Magen on Angie's list. She was very responsive to all my calls. She worked for 2 days - both days she started and finished when she said she would. She is a very pleasant young lady. The best part is her work. She is absolutely wonderful. Her painting skills are flawless (and I am very fussy). She is very meticulous and she doesn't use any blue tape. She is very neat and organized. She definitelty knows what she is doing. We will be hiring her again to paint out kitchen.

Magen responded immediately via phone to schedule a viewing of our house and estimate. She came on a weekend, assessed the work involved, and gave us a very fair estimate. She was able to begin immediately, and worked in an effective and timely fashion. Magen kept in direct communication with us to update us on the progress. We were not present while she was working, but trusted her completely with our home and to communicate with us about any issues or questions that she had. After finding Megan Mark's Painting on Angie's List, I called her requesting an estimate. She responded quickly and we agreed upon a date. She arrived precisely on time, was a pleasant, engaging young woman, who assessed my kitchen carefully and, in a couple of days, sent a very reasonable estimate. Meg gave me an approximate start date for the work, and was able to begin earlier than predicted. She did an excellent job in preparing my long unpainted and lumpy walls and ceiling. She was able to give very good advice about the quality of paint that would work best for this job. The result is perfectly satisfying and quite lovely. What added to the experience was the personable style of this capable young woman who was a pleasure to have in my home.

I called Magen and described the job to her, which was some exterior house painting and she came by for an estimate. She gave me an estimate, breaking it down into components. She was pretty busy but managed to squeeze us in before our deadline. Her brother helped her out on the job and he was very good. The job entailed a lot of detail work on a Victorian home, and they handled that just fine. they were done in a timely manner, very pleasant and professional.

Magen and her brother Justin did an amazing job start to finish.. As soon as I pointed out any issues or concerns, they were addressed imediately.You do nothing but stay out of the way, or watch the magic happen. All furniture is moved and put back by them.Each day Magen and Justin would arrive on time and start out by asking "is everything OK so far".

She is supremely professional and conscientious, and her work is impeccable. A true find!

Plus she did some small things in the room that went way beyond what she needed to do and didn't even charge me for them. She told me that she also does exteriors, landscaping and general odd-jobs.
