Amazing workers, climbed the trees, accurately downed these huge trees.

Very professional. They did their job. They had the right equipment there. There was no lapse in time. They had a whole crew and everybody worked together as a team. Everything was good.

Very responsive. Returned calls quickly and quoted job same day. (Others didn't) Showed up when they promised with a full crew/equipment, completed the job and thoroughly cleaned up the area. Have used them twice and they seem to be very reliable.

The job took longer than expected. A little due to weather. Scott agreed to do more work than originally planned/expected. The initial quote was better than the other quotes we received. Scott and his team's surpassed what we requested and what we expected. We recommend them to anyone. Only Con we have to report was, one log fell and the corresponding mess was not cleaned. This was due to the work was completed in winter.

Excellent! They were great! I think I found them on Angie?s List. They were wonderful! He came when he said, he did an estimate, he came back, they did the work and it didn?t take forever. He was wonderful! The best part, I would say is that the owner comes out, he was professional and patient. I ask a lot of questions when people come. He came when he said he would for the estimate and he came when he said he would for the job.

This is a top quality company. Everything from initial contact with Keith to the eventual cleanup went perfectly fine. Either Scott or Keith kept me updated as to when the removal would take place. The crew arrived on the expected date and were thoroughly professional. They took great pains to avoid hitting the house due to the close proximity of the tree. They then ground down the stump and cleaned up the entire work site. Thorough, efficient, professional job in all respects. Will have them back to remove another tree at a later date.

Crew arrived right on time and worked quickly. They had to use a crane to take the tree down in pieces and swing over the house. The crew worked well together and had everything cleaned up before noon. Great job, and interesting to watch!

I could't be more pleased. Scott gave us a reasonable price, over a thousand dollars less than the other service I contacted for an estimate. The crew was great--friendly and professional. Most of the cutting work was done by an incredibly experienced and competent climber which allowed us to avoid maneuvering a bucket loader on to my property. Each member of the crew clearly knew his role and there was no wasted effort. When the tree was down and loaded, a two man crew arrived to clear the stump using a state-of-the art chipper operated by remote control and costing, I was told, over $70,000! Clean up was perfect--like they were never even here. I recommend SDS most highly.

The price was competitive and the work was excellent. Very professional. Arrived on time. Very safety conscious. The person up in the trees cutting the limbs off used a safety belt and communicated to his co-workers when a limb was coming down. He tied each limb with a rope and lowered it carefully. Another worker on the ground helped to guide it where they wanted it to go. Another worker cut the long limbs into ones they could carry to the chipper.

Scott and his team very very professional and did a great job. When I called for a quote Scott came out a couple days later and we signed up for service the same day. They showed up exactly when they said they would and where done in a few hours. We decided to keep the wood from the trees they took down and the workers even rolled some of the pieces up the small hill near the road for us.

This is the third time Scott and his fantastic crew have come out and removed trees for us. When it comes to expert tree folks, SDS is the tree company to hire. We called and talked with 5 or 6 other tree services over the past years, and not one compares to Scott when it comes to understanding what is needed to be done, professionalism, ability in a timely fashion, and fair price. Scott and his crew have removed trees for us that were huge oak trees right on top of our house, to tall oak trees right next to the electric wires. He is timely, responsive, very deliberate, and very careful with his work. Him and his crew are amazing, they are efficient, and really are neat/clean, skilled tree folks. I could go on and on about how great it is to work with such a great company. Not having to worry about the job not getting done correctly or complete is the best feeling when you are spending a good amount of money on trees. He is the guy to call to have it done right and professionally. We live in Niskayuna and he has also done jobs for our neighbors and our family members. Can't go wrong. Very professional. There were three workers who worked well as a team. The business owner was the only one who climbed the tree and he used a safety belt at all times. Limbs were lassoed and guided to the ground. All the wood and debris was cleaned up.

They did a great job! They showed up right on time, got to work quickly, worked efficiently, and cleaned up very thoroughly when they were done. When we purchased our home last fall, our inspector suggested we have the pine trees closest to the house removed from the back yard lest they fall in a storm and land on the house. We are fond of trees, but he was right, they were a danger, so they had to go. We also chose to take down a maple that was going to block access for the trucks needed to remove the other trees and increase the cost of the job quite a bit. We decided against having the stumps ground as the backyard is fairly wild, and we like it that way. The crabapple tree in our front yard was also very badly in need of pruning. We got several quotes in the autumn. SDS was the most professional in demeanor, and the quote was also very reasonable. After putting off the decision of whether to have the work done this winter or wait till spring, we finally called last week and they were able to fit us in almost right away! They showed up right on time this morning with numerous trucks and a crew of at least eight. The whole job was done in about five hours. Everyone I interacted with was very pleasant and professional. I am impressed and will definitely contact SDS for any future tree work.

Fantastic - got the bid last summer and was told if we waited til winter, save 10%. Got a phone call in November to set it up and said he would call a week before sometime in January to set it up and that he would be here at 730 am. Crew showed up at 645 to set up and worked quickly and efficiently. Couldn't be happier. Very responsive and highly recommend. Right after our job he did another job 2 doors down using the crane again. Didn't know our neighbors had selected SDS but was happy to see they had chosen them too. Can't go wrong with these guys.

Scott was a very responsive communicator and provided a free estimate on 3 jobs. I decided to do them all, with a package discount. The crew arrived as scheduled, a small army of chainsaw-wielding guys on a mission, along with several machines. The job included removal of nasty, thorny bushes and trees, while leaving the fence in the midst of the mess standing. They also trimmed up several trees, took down a huge pine that was only a couple of feet from a building, and ground up the stump. I was impressed with their skill and attention to safety. Scott and the crew were great to work with and took on a couple of tasks that weren't included in the original agreement. My only beef is that in trimming the crabapple and burning bush trees, lots of dead wood was not taken down, and a few branches that had been cut were still in the trees. I had to pull them down. Also, piles of wood chips were pushed along the fence, but it was not done neatly and I'll have to do lots of raking. In all fairness, that would probably be under the category of lawn maintenance, not tree removal. All said, I'm thrilled with the dramatic change in my yard, and would hire them again.

I initially contacted Scott via the Angie's List website. Scott responded via the website and advised me to call him. I called and told him what I wanted done. He came by within a couple of days to do an estimate. At no time, prior to his arrival for the estimate, did he mention there was a $200 minimum. I basically wanted to grind the stumps that were putting up suckers. There were others that I didn't care about, as they were either well on their way to being decomposed or not a major issue regarding regrowth. Once Scott told me about the minimum, we walked around the yard and he marked the stumps to be ground. I missed one area of the yard where there were 3 small pine stumps (about 3-4 inches in diameter). I then called him back and asked if he could include those 3 for the same price. He said he couldn't do any more stumps for the $200 price. He then said he could do all of them (without clean-up) for $350. I agreed to do this. Gary and Joe arrived early Monday morning to begin the work. They were polite and pleasant. After they were done, Gary asked me if he had missed any. I didn't see any except for some small pine stumps in the back corner of my shed. Gary indicated that he could not fit the machine back there, so I said that was OK. While cleaning up the yard, I noticed that a small (approx 5 inches in diameter) beech tree had gotten skimmed by the machine. This was in the area where Gary indicated he could not reach. I contacted Scott immediately upon finding this damage to the tree. I wanted him to put it on the record that this tree was damaged and may, as a result, have to come down. His response to me was "well you wanted all of the stumps ground." I indicated to him that some of the stumps were not in reach and couldn't be ground, and I was OK with that. I had concerns about the tree. He gave me no satisfaction at all, and was frankly, a bit rude with his response and lack of caring.

Scott and his team was great! They arrived on time and removed about 12 trees and stumps. HIs pricing was great and the crew cleaned up very well. Only complaints that I have is that when the truck came in the backyard it ran over 3 sprinkler heads that I noticed the next day. Also I asked him to remove the picket fencing when they came (it was originally our responsibility) It couldn't get put back together 100% as before beause the truck hit a post upon leaving with a set of logs. With those issues aside SDS was great to work with and had great pricing as well.

Scott and his crew have great equipment and trucks and did a very good cleanup. Scot was very responsible, timely, very concerned about safety and avoiding damage, honest and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely refer him to others and use him again in the future.

The entire experience was about as good as it can get. Scott called back promptly to schedule a quote (price included an Angie's List coupon discount less tax) and he showed up precisely on time - impressive. Same for scheduling the job. He met his original estimate of starting the job in a 3-4 week time frame and he and his substantial crew arrived early on the agreed date with all of the proper equipment required to complete the project (which was completely finished in one long day). Scott and his crew obviously know what they're doing and work really well together - it was obvious they were all working to a pre-determined plan. The speed and precision with which they work is outstanding. Several of the trees can only be described as gigantic and the accuracy of cutting the trees to fall between several close-by obstacles was right on target - every time. Another plus - watching the activity was quite entertaining for me and several neighbors. Clean-up of all the debris was a continuous process throughout the day. I'd say customer satisfaction is high on their list of priorities. I'm happy I chose to work with "experts" to have the job done right (with no hassles along the way).
