Scott and his team arrived the day after he gave the estimate and I requested the service. He came with a team of 4 other men. With the exception of cigarettes hanging out of some of their mouths, they were professional and worked quickly. The team removed several hastas that were in the path of the digger machine (sorry, don't know what its called). The machine left deep track marks from the wheels in our yard, and the hastas were not replaced. I guess I expected that my yard would be returned to its best condition after they were done, so I was disappointed. There were also muddy tracks left in the driveway that they could have swept away, in my opinion. The trees were all removed from the premises, the wood chopped up into a big chopper truck (again, don't know trucky things). After they left, we raked up the dirt to try to fill in the track marks left in the yard as best we could. Overall, the job was done - it was just left a bit messy afterwards. I would use this company again, only I would definitely be there while the service was performed so I could be specific about how I want them to clean up. In other words, ask them to see me before leaving so I can check it out and give them my approval.

Spoke to Scott to request an estimate, he arrived quickly and gave me an estimate to remove 6 mature trees with grinding of the stumps. I had gotten several estimates, and his was the most competitive by a small amount, I called Scott soon after and told him to proceed. It took a bit of time to actually get the job completed (~3 weeks), but the storm (Irene) happend during that time, so i understand the delay as i am sure there were people with much greater need than I. Once he did the job (i was not home), i was very pleased, the work was done as expected, the stumps were fully ground, the yard was cleaned and all was well.I was very happy with the overall job and would use SDS again.

I called SDS and Scott came over on the very same day to give me an estimate. He gave me his card and a written estimate and indicated that it would be about two or two and a half weeks before they could provide the service. To our surprise, he called a week earlier and said that he could do the work the following Monday. Scott and his 6 crew members were professional and efficient. They even worked around other contractors that were also working on our home at the time.They worked non-stop and cleaned up and removed all the debris from the yard. They were courteous and did an outstanding job in a timely, professional and efficient manner. The only negative thing that I could say is that there were a couple of ruts on the side front lawn where the crew did not lay plywood down before moving the bucket loader to cut down the birch tree on the side of the house. I did not notice these until after they were gone, but the other work was done so well that it was not worth it to me to call him back. However, they did use the plywood on the main part of the front lawn and ruts were minimal. I cannot say enough how good this crew works together to get the job done. They are definitely proud of their work and they do an excellent job. I would recommend this company to anyone and would absolutely hire him again to do additional work..

The SDS crew was terrific. They were professional, courteous and did a tremendous amount of work for a very fair price. I would recommend and hire them again.

The owner Scott was punctual, polite and professional. Gave me an estimate to remove five oak trees with stumps and to trim a sixth oak from my residential property. Also gave me a second estimate when I wanted to know what it would cost to scale back on the scope of the job and just remove the largest tree and its stump. I thought both estimates were reasonable (I had prior experience hiring tree removal). Scott gave me a written quote and his business card. There was no pressure from Scott to hire him, just left it that I would call if I decided to pursue it further. As it turned out, I was having some home remodeling done and decided to not spend the additional money at that time to take care of the trees. But I have both the estimate and his business card on my bulletin board and I intend to give him a call when I decide to go forward with the project.

Scott the owner was very prompt and professional from beginning estimate to performing the service. Crew showed up on time, completed the job in a very reasonable amount of time, and did an excellent job of clearing all debris from the yard. I would highly recommend this company.

I called on Friday, 3/30/11 and asked for an estimate to remove a poplar tree and received the estimate on the same day. The company staff removed the tree and debris the following Thursday. I can't say enough about the high quality of their work, their professionalism and efficiency. They came on schedule and worked nonstop until the job was completed. They even went the extra mile and cleaned up debris unrelated to the tree. They were outstanding and I would highly recommend them and will definitely use them in the future. They were also reasonably priced.

the guy said we don't do stump pulling and hung up on me. click. didn't even give me a chance to ask about the tree trimming. I don't understand how anyone can treat potential customers so rudely and stay in business.

They provided us with the lowest estimate out of the 3 companies we checked with. Very professional from beginning to end. Quick estimate and they showed up before 8 am the day they were scheduled to do the work to set up. They didn't even stop to take a break until work was completed. They did an excelllent job of cleaning up the debris as well. I have to say I was very impressed with the work done for the money. I highly recommend SDS.

The job went very well, lasting a little over two hours; they had all the necessary heavy equipment to perform the job, and I am very pleased with the results.

I called SDS after seeing their listing on Angie's List. They returned my call right away. They made an appointment to do an estimate at 8:30 am on a Saturday and showed up on the dot, at 8:30 am. Because I was having my driveway paved, that vendor suggested I ask SDS to come prior to having the driveway done so no large trucks were driven on the new pavement. I called Scott at SDS and he completely worked with my schedule. He rescheduled for a date "earlier" than originally planned. They showed up at 9:30 am in the morning with over 8 men, a large bucket truck, a chipper truck and several other vehicles. Because my trees were close to the road, they directed traffic as they performed the trimming on the large maples. They were courteous, on time, did all of the clean-up and moved very fast. They finished the work by 1:30 pm with no problems or issues. They had wide-ranging work and handled it very professionally. They took all of the debris and wood. They completely met their estimate and the job was complicated yet they were the most inexpensive out of the bids I received. I highly recommend them.

Was told it would be 2 weeks or sooner and it was 15 days- -close enough. Kindly removed my bird feeder to keep it out of harm's way. Removed branch, and cleaned up debris. Unfortunately, left empty oil containers in my garbage. Since the 2 small containers and large gallon container all had oil left in them, I couldn't throw them away in either the garbage or recycling that my village enforces. Had to call him to properly dispose of them. He returned the next morning and took them away.

The job was straight forward and they cut down the tree and had it removed from my property with 1 and half hours after starting the job.

Overall I would give them high marks. They were responsive to my call to get a quote, followed up in-person quickly, readily submitted certificates of liability and workman's comp insurance (which I required due to the size of the trees and the proximity to my house) and generally kept in touch as the start date got closer (we were waiting for solid, frozen ground to start work to minimize damage). Once they were there, they worked very quickly, basically finishing the job in 2 days (I would have guessed it would have taken 4). On the positive side - a very good price, nice crew that was responsive, did the work quickly. On the negative side - they didn't do as nice of a job with the clean up as I would have liked, though this was partly due to the snow/ice on the ground making it difficult. In addition, as with most contractors, they were there to do the job and didn't worry about "collateral damage" (broken branch on a bush, knocked over a compost bin, etc.).

Very good experience, although I had no direct contact with the owner other than speaking to him on the phone. I didn't have to be home at the time they did the work. What I can say is that I called for an estimate and left a message with my address. I had an estimate in my hands 2 days later. They were just as responsive when I called to request the work to be performed and their price was reasonable. I am pleased with how the trees look now and they didn't leave a lot of dead branches in the yard.
