Tri star did a complete kitchen reno right down to the studs and then built it back up. Finished within the time frame and when there was a minor problem down the road, they came right back and fixed it for us. They really stand behind their work.

They did a very poor job. They claimed to be licensed but were not. They were supposed to remove the rotting wood underneath the siding but did not, they just nailed siding over it.

We were not totally thrilled with them. They didn't do a bad job either, but there was something they were going to do that they didn't have to do the full job. Instead of subtracting that from their price they didn't and my husband was upset about that. They did a good job. It was just that the job that was in the estimate they did it and then involved a big piece that wasn't needed. My husband gets very angry if he feels he is being cheated in a way. Overall they did a good job. The tract that was there they originally were going to remove the old track in the garage door. But what happened was they didn't have to remove the whole track. It was old but it was still a very good track and all they had to do is replace the door. The track with the labor was a part of the proposal and they only reduced the final bill by $50. My husband found that unacceptable as to remove the track would take a couple hours of work. And he was right. We were not happy about the pricing but the job was good. It was a good quality work and the timing and everything was good.

They've been good. They were kind of expensive. I had no problems with them, just the price. Overall, the work is good. They did some mistake and I called them and they came and corrected it. It cost them a service but they were pretty good. Their customer service is good. They came and they did it. They take care of it. I'm very flexible with people when they want to get the work done and I tell them take your time. I want the job done right. They'll come within the time they tell you they will come. I would use them again if I could afford it.

Work was done seamless with no problems at all. It was a pleasure working with them.

In general the estimates stay consistent with final cost, they're on time, and they clean up after themselves. I've only had two issues: screen door lock that broke within the first year but I never followed up and some details of the siding that only got done how we originally discussed because I was watching. The owner, no matter what they tell you, they will not be on site. We were told that, and then he went on vaca. Hence, me having to watch

Everything went great. They are very good, reliable and show up on time.

The Repairmen sent to our house on March 23, 2013, I believe one of the men was named Wallace were extremely professional, courteous, and neat, fulfilling all of our expectations. The work was performed exactly how it was estimated to be completed, with Diane from the main office even giving us a follow up call making certain we were satisfied with the work, something that is unheard of in this day and age. During a time when most contractors are looking for ways to cut corners or overcharge homeowners for repairs, its comforting to have a company such as Tri-Star Construction to turn to as they are trustworthy, reliable, courteous, with the homeowner prioritized and treated with respect. I would certainly highly recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor and I look forward to doing business with them in the future.

The workers were very nice and helpful. They also took before and after pictures of the roof for me. They did excellent work. I also appreciated that they came back after the hurricane to make sure the roof was fine.

After legally evicting a tenant in late March, 2011, the city marshall and I discovered upon entering the premises significant water damage with its consequent mold and mildew. The building was ice-cold, and the electric wasn't working. Unlike the mild winter of 2011-12, the winter of 2010-11 was especially cold. I soon learned that Con Ed and National Grid had cut off service to the building at the end of February, 2011, for non-payment which caused a water pipe to burst. In the cellar, the nearly-new furnace (installed, 6/10) was destroyed as was the insulation. The walls and ceilings were covered with mold and mildew as were the bathroom and kitchen cabinets, and the carpeting was squishy. The insurance company sent an adjuster and a contractor in early April. They sent another contractor the following October. In the meanwhile, I had gotten several estimates for the building's remediation in the neighborhood of $40-45,000. Finally, in January of 2012, they sent me yet-another contractor's estimate of about $35,000, but it contained several discrepancies and omissions from my estimates. (None of the estimates included the furnace replacement.) After checking on Angieslist and upon a friend's recommendation, I contacted Max of Tri-Star. He came out immediately and within a short time gave me an estimate of about $39,000. I finally received the CHECK from the insurance company in early August, gave a deposit to Tri-Star, and work was started in mid- to late August. In early September, Max informed and then showed me additional structural to the building as well as window damage which, unfortunately, was not included by either my or the insurance company's contractor. This extra damage amounted to $3,500 which I felt was reasonable. In mid-September, I met with Max to go over several finishing details such as the flooring, specifically what floors were to be sanded and urethaned and which were to be tiled. He also showed me additional repairs he had made to the rear bathroom, roof, and foundation which he had made and for which he did not charge me. Except for a misunderstanding over flooring for one room and some of the replacement fixtures were not of the same quality as the originals, I was pleased with the work and with the conscientiousness of Max and his staff. Every message was returned and every appointment confirmed. I was kept informed at every stage. I will use Tri-Star in the future for any remodelling or repair work.

Good experience with Tristar, they were prompt, professional and the price was good. They were honest and told me I still had 5 years on the life of my roof while other companies I spoke with tried to sell me a new roof for up to $25,000. I would definitely use them again.

Everything turned out fine, it was good. They did a pretty good job, and I would recommend them. They were quite professional in their approach, and they did the job quickly. I wasn't that much involved so that I could say too much about them, and what they did. They cleaned up after their work, and the job has held up so far.

This was my third job with Tri-Star. All have been excellent. This one was by far the most challenging -- a bathroom, probably not remodeled since the house was built in 1920. The floor and ceiling beams, as well as wall studs were badly rotted. This was not meant to be a cosmetic make-over, but a response to an emergency. At the end, we not only had a total structural make-over, but a bathroom worthy of "House and Gardens." Tri-Star proprietor "Max" supervised the job with two of the hardest working guys I have ever seen. Both Max and the workers had a quiet confidence and were very pleasant to have in the house; they were actually cheerful in the midst of a difficult job. The job went on for a few days longer than anticiapted because of the disaster they found, but Max never charged me a dime over the initial quote. Because I share one of the walls with neighbors, they were complaining about the demolition noise and a few cracks on their side. Max and the workers responded with politeness and assurance that the cracks would be fixed, which they were. The neighbors were very happy. The entire operation, with ladies from the office ensuring efficiency at every stage, was as good as it gets. I have had workers in and out of my house since I bought it in 1980, but these were the best. I will definitely use them again.

I am looking to budget for the project. They were thorough and professional.

I have to preface this by saying I have had 2 other contractors(replacing windows and bathroom remodel) do work for me over the last 3 years. In both cases, I had problems with both contractors, either with them not showing up or not fully completing the work (in that case the contractor declared bankruptcy after 98 percent of the work was finished. After these experiences, I wanted to find someone reliable. I soon relaized, a lot of these contractors are 1-2 men operations and jump around from job to job even when they should be dedicated to working on yours during the time of contract. To do the work above, I shopped around a little and I received quotes from about 10 different contractors. Tri-Star was not the cheapest by any means. Their and quot;constructionand quot; prices fall a little higher then average. What I liked about them was: 1) the owner Max - nice guy, honest - he will tell you upfront the costs and wheter it makes sense to do the job. 2) Tri-Star does not require you to pay 1/3 of the job cost at the start, 1/3 at the mid-point and the balance at the end as most contractors do. They require a small balance up front (I think I put down $1500 upfront) and the balance upon completion and when you are satisfied the job is done right. They never asked me at any time for money until the job was completed. 3) They are listed with a and quot;Aand quot; rating on the Better Business Bureau and 4) they are a member of the S.I Chamber of commerce. The last 2 items may not mean much to other people, but when you have gotten screwed by previous contractors, it is worth it for your peace of mind. 5) The office staff is very friendly and the girls always responded to any inquires and requests on a timely basis. 6) The construction workers who showed up were always professional and showed up everyday at the time they said they would be there. Overall, I was very happy with the work Tr-Star did for me and will defintely use them again. The only job I would not use them for is painting, as I found their price to paint extremely high in relationship to other contractors. However, with regards to painting, I found all the general contractors I received quotes from were much higher than paint contractors.

They were on Angie's list. They were a large company. I was very unhappy with them. there were so many different issues. I wouldn't use them in the future.

My experience with Tri Star Construction was very nice. I have just little complaints which I guess is common once things are done. They should have suggested that I needed to get an electrical outlet on the new wall which I also didn't think of at the time. Other than that, they were very good in general. I would recommend them with reservations. Reservation being that one needs to spell everything out on how exactly one wants the work to be done. Also, I would advice others to get samples and save it so that it can be compared once the work is finished. The workers were all very nice. I would use them in the future with reservations.

Owner of the company came to give me an estimate for roof replacement and siding. He was on time and professional throughout. He advised me not to do the work at this time but instead to paint my house and give the roof another 5 years before replacement. Price quoted was high compared to others, but I will definitely consider Tri-Star when it comes time to do the work. Honesty is a precious commodity. HIghly recommend this company.

I wasn’t totally satisfied with their work. There were problems with grass around the windows. I had to call them several times to get them to do more caulking on the outside. There work wasn’t anywhere near an absolutely good job. It was a little less than an average job. They finally came back and did the caulking, though.

They were punctual and did a very good job. They did follow-up when I thought the attic fan wasn't working. These people seemed to know what they were doing. The only thing is, they were a little bit pricey.

They were the most expensive quote of three received. I went back top them and they reduced the price. They started on time, were polite and professional. They had enough people to do all the jobs quickly. They fixed a few things on my ''punch list'' quickly and well. They did not ask for the final payment until I said I was happy. Although higher in price than some others, I would recommend them with out reservation.

AS FAR AS A CUSTOMER I DON'T THINK I WAS TREATED WELL. FOR AN APPOINTMENT THEY SAID THEY WERE COMING AND DIDN'T SHOW. I HAD TO SAY I WAS TAKING MY DEPOSIT BACK BEFORE THEY REACTED. WE WANTED TO HAVE PRIVACY ON OUR BACK STEPS DOWN TO THE YARD AND THEY LOOKED AT ME LIKE I WAS STUPID. I WOULDN'T HAVE THEM DO ANYTHING FOR ME IN THE FUTURE.

AS FAR AS LARGER JOBS AND STUFF LIKE THAT, THEY TEND TO BE EXPENSIVE. THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL, AND IT WAS FOR A HEFTY PRICE FOR THAT. THEIR ESTIMATE ON THE WORK I HAD DONE ON THE ROOF WAS $2000 MORE THAN WHAT I HAD A CONTRACTOR DO IT FOR, BUT THEY MIGHT HAVE WORKMAN'S COMP THAT I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT.
