Description of Work: Sal came to my home to give me an estimate. He arrived more than an hour late the first time and had to return a week later for another estimate. He seemed to have a general idea of what he was doing, albeit not great, and was impatient and slightly condescending as I showed him the projects we needed done. In any case, I wanted to move forward with the work...and he seemed competent enough. He promised an estimate the subsequent week. I called his office 4 times over the course of the next two weeks. He never called back with the estimate. I said to his secretary, look, he can even do some of the projects, like making a basement door which we need finished urgently...no response. I gave up...thinking I shouldn't have to be begging somebody to get back to me with an estimate.

Description of Work: TDS Woodworking replaced a lobby door in a co-op building. The building was built in 1895. The original door was long ago replaced with a standard cheap shop door. The co-op wanted to bring back the splendor of the original wood door. We received about 10 bids in a very wide range, from $19,000 to an outrages bid of $70,000. Sal, of TDS is a real can do type of guy. His company corrected and redrew our architect's CAD drawings by hand. They were a work of art. He managed to take out the old door and replace it with his new door in a day, (which others said they could not do). The detailed carving in the wood and etching in the glass where beautifully copied from the original transom. The new lobby door that TDS did for us looks as though it was done when the building was built. It is a gem.

Description of Work: TDS came in to complete a job that another contractor had abandoned. This was for a very contemporary kitchen in a loft. He came up with additional good ideas.

Description of Work: Work was done on a 40 year old dining room table and 6 chairs. It was repainted to match new cabinets and also a leaf for the table that was repaired.
