Rich, the owner of Staten Island Fence and Landscaping, responded personally to my voice message regarding our old chain link fence that was damaged in a wind storm and needed to be repaired. Rich arrived at the scheduled time and after reviewing our options my husband and I decided to have a new PVC fence and gate installed rather than repair the old one. Rich took all the measurements and gave us a detailed written invoice. He contacted me to coordinate a convenient date to start the work and showed up exactly on time. He and one assistant removed the old chainlink fence and gate and built a beautiful new PVC fence and gate. They were so understanding about my neighbor having two dogs that like to stay in their yard and so he left that side of the fence until last. I was so impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail that Rich and his assistant displayed throughout the entire job. I've seen a lot of PVC fences in Staten Island but I think I ended up with the best one. I highly recommend this company to anyone that wants a quality job and wants to be proud of their property.

It was a pleasure to work with Rich. He is honest, responsive and a true professional. He walked me through the job thoroughly and was patient with my questions. On installation day, he came when he said he would and did what he said he was going to do. (seems like a no-brainer, but most contractors don't understand this concept.) He has pride in his work and it shows. He did the job the right way, waiting for the cement posts to dry, before installing the gate and risk it sagging. I appreciated the attention to detail that went into my job. He wasn't the lowest price I got, but I feel that you get what you pay for and I believe I got excellent quality for the price. Would definitely use him again and recommend him to friends.

Rich came immediately after I called. Inspected the fence, detailed exactly what needed to be done, provided an estimate and a time frame to complete the work that was far more accurate and reasonable than his competitors. Rich was true to his word, he did the repairs when he said he would, and delivered excellent workmanship. The hardware he installed was superior and and he was meticulous in his repairs. I went from having a fence door that was in total disrepair, to one that was fully functional and aesthetically pleasing. I was extremely satisfied with his work and would most highly recommend him.

We found Rich on Angie's List and my husband and I couldn't be happier with his work. I did my homework before choosing a company to install our new fence and he was extremely patient and helpful in answering all my questions. He was very professional throughout the entire job: he was responsive from the beginning, showed up when he said he would, completed the job in a timely manner and the quality of work was excellent. He went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied with the job. He even offered a great idea on how he could custom design an area for us to keep our garbage pales. It really was such a great touch, this way we don't see the pales from the street nor do we have to open/close the gate every time we take out the garbage. Additionally, he is very detailed oriented. There was a gap under one of the sections due to the grade of the land and he installed an additional piece to fill in the gap all on his own because he didn't like the way it looked. He does the job right and doesn't cut any corners. I would highly recommend Rich to anyone looking to have this type of work done.

I made an appointment with Richard this past July. I had PVC on side most of the way. Last 16' was the old cedar fence. The Cedar ended at a corner post that had a picket fence and wood gate to enter my back yard. The picket and gate was rotting ,so i wanted PVC to replace cedar and wood picket and gate. He was helpful with suggestions and also honest that he was so backet up he couldn't do the job for a while. No rush. Richard demo'd the old gate and fencing. He cut flush the old posts and installed new posts into concrete. He put up new PVC fence to match exsisting PVC that was already up. He also poured cement INTO the top of the new PVC posts. That makes them very solid. No worries about the wind. Great job. I'm glad I hired him to do it instead of attempting to do it myself. I ncluded 2 before and 2 after pictures.of the job.

Rich is responsive and professional. He and one other worker completed the job in five days. We needed a 50' retaining wall added to one part of my property line as it was uneven. Rich came back the day the wall was going in and set the stakes for the fence posts right into the wet concrete to further secure the strength and stability of the fence. My husband and I were quite impressed with the work, the level of communication before, during, and after. They left stored supplies stacked, covered and out of the way every day. They removed all the old, unused chain link and wood stockade fence that was being replaced and left the backyard clear of any debris or residual materials at the completion of the job. We highly recommend him to anyone looking to have this type of work done.

We discovered Richard on Angie's list and he had many recommendations. You can add one more, now. Richard is the consummate professional, he explains everything with detail and is extremely careful and and courteous. He is careful with every detail. Richard and Roberto worked hard, and skillfully. Our backyard still needs work, but our fence looks great!

Richard was professional right from the very beginning. We had chosen him for our home installation due to all the great reviews we had read on Angie's List and we're very happy we did. Our first initial contact with him was in the beginning of June and after meeting him the next Saturday to clarify what we had in mind, our order was ready for installation by July 1st. Richard started installation on July 6th and was promptly done in about 3 days. It was Richard himself and a helper that did the installation and we were very happy with his work ethic. They not only worked all day past company hours to promptly finish the work but they would also leave our backyard clean and orderly as they had found it each day. The finished product is beautiful and the installation looks seamless and solid. Overall, we are so happy we chose Richard and will definitely keep him in mind for any future fence installation and will certainly recommend him to our family and friends.

I cannot imagine a more professional job or a better outcome. We needed fencing that would be a close match to each of our neighbors fences, and that's exactly what we got. Rich worked out a plan and did a great job. Where posts went into the ground, he installed them deep and fixed them into place with hydraulic cement. For posts mounted on concrete, a water-cooled diamond drill efficiently and cleanly made perfect holes. Steel pipes went into the holes, and were also anchored with hydraulic cement. Once the posts were in place, they were partially filled with cement. The posts with the gate hinges were completely filled with cement, and I'd guess each one now contains about 150 pounds of solid cement. None of the parts of the fence are going anywhere. He took the time to do every aspect of the work right, and with obvious pride in his work -- an increasingly rare thing to see! I should also comment on the quality of the parts used. The hinges, locking mechanism -- with locks equivalent to that probably in your front door -- handles etc. were very solid. The fence elements were very heavy duty. This is not your Home Depot or Lowe's fence. This is a world apart from home center fencing. I've had two neighbors come over to tell me that they watched while Rich was installing the fence and now wish they had gone to him for their fences. Like with most other things, the truth is that you get what you pay for. I would unconditionally recommend Staten Island Fence to you. If anyone deserves Angie's List awards, it is Rich and his guys. You won't be disappointed.

The job that Rich did was superb. The fence looks great - the materials that were used were of high quality and the installation work was performed with precision at every step of the process. My and my neighbor's backyards are covered with cement and have a pitch so it was hard to find a compromising level for fence to follow. Rich dealt with this complication in a truly professional manner - patiently explaining options, guiding us to accept most appropriate solution and always being polite and respectful. My neighbor gave him a bit of a hard time, but he remained calm and professional. Another important point - the work the site was left in a clean condition - all dirt was removed, the backyard and fence were even washed . And lastly, Rich is very easy to get in touch with, very responsive and accommodating to your availability schedule I highly recommend him (and I am usually quite picky)

Rich was great! I moved into my home the end of June & needed a PVC fence installed. I priced several companies & Staten Island Fence was the most reasonable. I am very happy with the job & they were very neat & clean about it as well. Very professional, excellent work. Great attention to detail. Extremely happy with the job. They took away the old fencing. We had extra debris that we would have liked them to remove as well and they did not want to.

When I first contacted Rich from Staten island fence I left a message and he got back to me immediately. My yard was a challenging one with different altitudes of land and cement in a rather tight area. Rich and his helper did an excellent, excellent job of getting the fence installed. My yard looks great and the fence material is of high quality. Rich was punctual and a pleasure to communicate with. Don't hesitate to use this guy for an expert fence installation.

We hired Staten Island Fence to put up a wooden fence and gate between our house and the house next door. After the fence was done and he left, we noticed there was an open space that we did not expect to be so large. When I called him back and told him I was bothered by the size of the space, he said that he was not going to come back because he was from Tottenville and it was too far away for him to travel, and that my husband had been happy with the job. Upon examining the fence after this conversation we noticed that the screws he put in were not flush with the wood and that there were nine screws missing from the brackets holding the fence to the wood. Some of the screws are actually bent. We were very disturbed at the sloppiness of the work. For him to not put the screws in properly showed a lack of professionalism.

Everything went great. Rich did an amazing job installing a beautiful fence in our backyard, He was very professional, on time and informative about future jobs down the road. I would offer his services to my friends and co-workers and will be using him again. Excellent work.

Called Rich for an appointment. He arrived on time and provided us with all the information we needed to make our decision. He measured the work area and gave us a VERY competivitve price. Once we agreed on the product type he gaves us an estimate of how long it would be until he would be able to do the installation. Once again his timing was on the money. He called the day before to let us know that he would be installing the railings. He arrived on time (again). He is on-site for the installation (doing the install with a co-worker). They are neat, meticulous, professional and cleaned up the entire work area when they were done. Rich is a rare find in this economy ( a trusted, reputable company). I would highly recommend him for any railing or fencing job you may have.

Our experience with Staten Island Fence was exceptional. Rich is incredible nice, highly skilled and nothing but professional...even while our neighbor was hurling insults through the bushes! Our fence and deck railing have been up for nearly a month now and we are so pleased everytime we look at it. We wish Rich did other areas of renovation because we're remodiling quite a few things in our home and wish we could hire him to do it all.

Rich was very professional. I needed to have just my gate replaced. He went above and beyond what was discussed. Due to weather issues the date set to start work was pushed back. Rich apologized and composited for the delay. Very happy with the work that was done and would use him again.
