After having chosen Spike Renovations, our experience got better with each stage of the process. Bobby possesses the most important qualities in a contracting partner?he is highly experienced, he maintains flexibility and a real client service orientation, he keeps his clients updated on the progress and never moves ahead without a thorough discussion and approval from the client. Best of all, he does excellent work and is a ?stickler? for details and making sure everything is ?just perfect.? These qualities were especially important in the case of our job, where what appeared to be a relatively straightforward job became highly complicated?due to no fault of Spike Renovations. Throughout all the ?curve b****? Bobby and his team remained calm and flexible, and harnessed the right talents to not only remove anticipated thick cement slabs in the middle of the floors, but to also fully recreate and matching the complex parquet floor design of the rest of the apartment making the cement patch areas look indistinguishable from the rest of the floor. It was truly magic! The floors look magnificent, better than we ever expected, despite all the road blocks the team encountered, and every last detail (mouldings, closets, saddles, etc.) was handled to perfection. Again, throughout the project I was in contact with Bobby and his team every step of the way. Bobby is highly flexible, maintains a positive demeanor and is exceptionally personable, making it a true pleasure to work with him. He is highly committed to his clients and overall excellence and I recommend him and Spike Renovations without reservation.
Description of Work: In our case, Bobby and his team were assisting us by first tearing out the old carpet and then sanding, staining, and refinishing the underlying floors. Having purchased the apartment without ever having seen the floors, we had no clue what lay beneath the carpet. During the course of the removing the existing carpet, Bobby and his team discovered a variety of highly unusual aspects of the underlying floor—including random areas of the floor which were covered not with wood, but with cement. Additionally, a huge cement strip ran the length of the apartment with big electrical outlets disruptively placed in the middle of the floor. Spike renovations handled everything to perfection and painted the mouldings, added saddles, repainted the closet floors--no detail left unaddressed.
