The office was able to schedule a visit quickly and two technicians came as scheduled. They quickly identified the problem, explained everything to me in clear and understandable terms, got the necessary parts and completed the repair that afternoon. Based on their professionalism, knowledge and responsiveness, we are engaging with them for an annual maintenance contract for heating and A/C.

They're great. I haven't had any problems since they installed the air conditioner. They were really good.

I have used them for more than 20 years. They are excellent. Their work is amazing. I highly recommend them. They are on call and are punctual. They get in touch with you when they are on your way. If they get delayed on another job they will call you.

The installer was personable and professional. He did a clean installation. So far I'm very satisfied with the water heater. It's always a pleasure to deal with Scaran, who also services my heater and central air conditioning.

and i will use them again.they claimed the old thermostat would work with the furnace.it didn't and i finally got a new one.at one point the furnace wouldn't come on.it turned out to be a ground wire.eventually the humidifier was installed and that seems to work fine.their employees were friendly and did their job and seemed to be competent.during this experience they were hard to contact but they suffered storm damage too and i don't hold that against them.overall i am completely satisfied and i will use them again.

I was very pleased with Gary the technician. He was clearly knowledgeable about my system (Carrier Infinity). His maintenance routine was more thorough than that of the previous company I used. He was professional, a good communicator, and very pleasant to deal with. This was my first time using Scaran, and I will continue to do so, I was very pleased.

We've had a contract with them for years. They come right away when you need service. They tell you up front, how much it will cost, and whatever extra costs there may be. They do a good job.

The service was very good. I thought the service call was a little pricey, but they were up front about that before they came. They were nice and came when they said they would.

It cost me $6900 and it was expensive. You can’t have Freon anymore. So, whenever something goes wrong, you have to replace it. It was a really big deal. They came out a couple of times before to try that. They checked the existing thing and the leaks. They checked anything that they could fix. They did the testing and there were too many leaks that they couldn’t fix. I called them an hour ago since the system is leaking right now and they said they would come. I hope they come and fix whatever the problem is. They know what they are doing, but their prices are really high. They are in and they are out. They have a lot of experience though. They will also come and fix what’s wrong. I know they will do that. They are slow for appointments and they really make you wait because they are busy, but they do eventually show up. I will call them up again if they don’t fix it. The leak is coming from the second floor and it’s leaking onto the first floor. I would use their services in the future too. They are not perfect, but no one is perfect.

I decided not to use them for two reasons. I think the equipment that they were recommending was not quite efficient as I was looking for and I thought their price was higher for the work. They were prompt and they were professional. They were efficient. I just felt I got a better deal from other service provider. I would consider using their service for another quote in the future.

Central A/C was not cooling. Called Scaran on Friday morning they offered to be there that day but since no one would be home I requested Saturday morning and they arrived before 9am on Saturday. Technician discovered cause of the problem, replaced part and performed routine check of the system within an hour. Overall an excellent experience.

The workmen that Scaran sends are knowledgeable & professional. Scaran's prices are high in comparison to other companies that perform the same work. However, they are reliable and they do not rush through the job. They do provide a service plan which is a good deal & guarantees that they will show up even on a holiday, should the unit fail. They put plastic coverings on their shoes before entering the home, they also clean up after themselves.

Everything is working and they seem to be professional. The quality of the work seems to be okay.

My wife and I were having problems with our central A/C unit and didn?t have any knowledge of what the problem may be. The condenser outside was not operating at all and no cool air was coming through the vents. We did some research and found Scaran as a reputable company repairing A/C units in Staten Island. We hired them to run a diagnostic test on our unit which they had spent about two hours thoroughly testing our entire system to provide us with a solution to fix the problem. The Scaran technician had recommend that the coil and its pan needed to be cleaned, the fuses to the condenser to be replaced and that the breakers in our electrical panel should be upgraded to a higher ampage breaker to allow the condenser to operate smoothly without any additional strain on the unit. Also they included that they could make a filter rack to make it more accessible to change out the filter. The technician completed the diagnostic test and had the A/C working in about two hours. He added an additional part to the condenser to help jump start the unit so that it would be a faster start up time and he replaced the blown fuses with new ones. Following the completion of the test the technician went over all the recommendations and quoted me with a price for the additional work to be done. I agreed to all the recommendations that were necessary and Scaran had called the very next morning to schedule an appointment to complete the entire job. Two technicians came to my home, including the original tech, began repairing my A/C. They showed up earlier than expected and took about three hours to complete the job. They took out the coil and its pan and thoroughly cleaned both items. The pan had a crack and the tech had to repair it with silicon and explained to me that it may be a problem in the future due to the coil sits above the furnace. The furnace could possibly melt the silicon during the winter months and any existing water may flood the bottom of the unit which could also destroy the electronics that control how the A/C operates. Since the parts to the unit are obsolete, he recommended that I should look into replacing the entire system with a newer and more efficient A/C. They then installed the filter rack and started to work on the breakers. They informed me that they couldn?t change the breakers because of the wire gauge was not suitable for that size. Scaran informed me that I would not be responsible for any cost of checking the breakers because the work could not be completed. They did mention that the A/C unit will operate on the existing breaker with no problems. From start to finish, my wife and I were pleased with the service that Scaran had provided. Both technicians were very professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who may have the same problems that we had.

They were on time, and they did a very thorough job. They explain everything step-by-step as they go. They call to remind you of your appointment. They are very good about their pricing.

These guys are pros, no doubt about it. The installation of the heating system went off with military precision. First, some guys came to remove the old oil tank, which had some sludge in the bottom, so it could have been a mess, BUT IT WASN'T. Also, they extracted the old heating unit from the basement with minimum muss and fuss. They worked real clean. Just made it disappear. Then came the plumbing/heating crew, like 3 more guys to do their thing. And when they were done, the electrician. Again, solid work. The next day, I decided to have them do the hot water heater. As to the hot water heater, they followed the usual contractor practice of insisting on installing Bradford White or AO Smith so you can't haggle about the price of the unit or go for Kenmore or GE, which are much cheaper. Well, it is what it is. Similarly, on the heater side, they were installing a Burnham Unit supplied by the gas company at $699. There had to be another $500 worth of valves, pipes, thermostats, etc. so let's say $1200 in parts for a 1-day, 30 man-hour job that totaled $6000. That leaves $4800 for labor, profit and a good guarantee. I don't begrudge that as long as the guys were well-paid, because they are certainly worth it. They know their stuff.

They have been in business for a very long time now. We have been using this company for years. In fact, my parents also use them. They do good, quality work. They are a little higher priced but I guess you get what you pay for. We need to have them come out again here real soon.

The workers were superb. They worked carefully and meticulously. They obviously knew their crafts extremely well. They spent hours to test the system and get everything working perfectly. The clean up was well done. At the end, there were several metal pieces on my property. The worker, who had already packed up and was ready to leave, determined that these pieces were to go over the insulated piping. He installed all the pieces and made sure everything fit properly.

The guy they sent knew what he was doing and easy to work with. The price is not cheap though. Just coming by costs $90. Changing the contractor was $205. The material probably costs $100. The labor came out to around $195 for an hour of work.

I AM SATISFIED WITH THE WORK THEY DO. I GUESS THE APPOINTMENT TIME COULD BE A LITTLE BETTER. THE LENGTH OF TIME YOU HAVE TO WAIT TO GET AN APPOINTMENT COULD BE SHORTER. I THINK THAT'S PROBABLY MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT.

IT WAS GREAT. THEY DID A GREAT JOB, BECAUSE MY SYSTEM WAS NOT WORKING, AND I HAD OTHER COMPANIES COME OUT. THE OTHER PEOPLE WANTED TO REPLACE MY WHOLE SYSTEM, BECAUSE THEY SAID IT COULD NOT BE FIXED. SCARAN CAME OUT, AND SAID THAT THEY WOULD TRY TO CLEAN THE COILS AND SEE IF THAT WOULD WORK, IT DID SO THEY SAVED ME A LOT OF MONEY.
