Royal TV Service

Since Angies didn't have this service in my area, I got the name from my local Yellow Pages. I was given a rough estimate over the phone. (After the debacle of the digital conversion for me: erratic and unstable reception with an outdoor UHF/VHF antenna and two converters already in place, I called all stations whose signal I wasn't receiving or receiving badly in addition to the FCC. Three TV engineers responded saying I needed coaxial cable. They suggested an electrician doing this work. I called an electrician from Angieslist as well as Royal. The electrician responded quickly and gave me an estimate of $600. to 650. plus I would have to buy a "conversion" kit at Radio Shack. But Radio Shack did not have this kit. The next day, Royal responded with his estimate.) An estimate service charge of $40. would not be charged if I had either the cable with transformer and splitters and/or a new antenna installed. The serviceman estimated the cost of just the cable & transformer replacement at about $225. and an additional $110. for a new antenna. Since the estimate was in line with the quote and was eager to resolve my annoying reception difficulties after almost two weeks, I decided to have the new antenna and cable work done. (My old antenna is over ten years old, and didn't want to have just the cable and transformer placed, only to have the problem persist or have a new one develop.) It went very well. The serviceman arrived a little late, but finished the job in about 2 hours.
