He did good. They are reliable. They do what they are paid to do. The price is going up every year and it is a little high. They know what they are doing. If I need them I call them.
Description of Work: I have a contract with them to do the services on my boiler for my heating.

They are professional. I've never really had any negative interactions with them. They are very reliable considering that everything is done remotely as far as I know. I would recommend to them to provide cheaper service. The quality of the service is okay.
Description of Work: I've used National Grid to supply gas to the house.

I have a big nay for them. I give them the worst rating because I ended up fixing it myself. They did reconfigured it and they should have never did that. Mr. Rhoads was the manager and he was a real piece of work he was. He was constantly making deals. He said I will go for the labor but you buy the parts. I said whoa, excuse me, don't I have a contract with you people? Yeah, but you know these units are old and if you had one of ours units it probably wouldn't cost you anything. The price went up but you know what I don't even care but the thing is if you fix it when I call you. his guys didn't know anything about it. It is a sophisticated unit, high pressure and you know it wasn't the one they were trained on. They train their people on a couple of units they put in and that is that. they don't know anything else. Quality if F also because one part was leaking and i had to call them back. They came out eight times and I am not exaggerating. They came five times and they couldn't fix it and a sent one guy twice so it was seven times. He said he was the closer which is for hard cases. Yeah, hard cases alright. I don't know how hard it was to get the part because I got it but the go through their distributers and no where else. they came to many time so what good is it. Dealing with Mr. Rhoads is like dealing with the mafia. Everyone they sent out there would determine it was broken.
Description of Work: I used National Grid Us for heating and air conditioning because they have a thing where you pay every month and they come to fix your unit. What they try to do is get you to try and get theirs because that is the only one they know how to fix. They sent about eight different guys over and they didn't know how to fix it because it wasn't one theirs. It is an import, high pressure boiler and they don't know what they are doing. I had to tell them twice how to fix it and what parts to get. They said they couldn't get the parts but I found parts three blocks away with one of the few distributers. I use them a couple years back. They canceled my contract after they realized how expensive it was to fix and I am not going to buy one of their things. That is what they did with everybody else in the building. They took their money and when they had time and had an occasion to come and fix it. They would tell them all you cant get parts to fix it blah, blah, blah but if you buy ours. I paid seventeen dollars a month and had it for years before they came and not fixed it. They ruined it because they tried to make it easier to out one of their parts on it. They reconfigured it and when its calling for hot water, it leaks by and going into my baseboard. Now I am happy having heat in the summer evey time I need hot water my baseboard gets hot. Isn't that wonderful? that didn't happen until they came.

I don’t have an option; I have no choice. My prices vary depending on the season. The highest bill has been $170 and the lowest is around $45. I really don't have any dealings with them.
Description of Work: I use National Grid for my heating; it is all electric. I interact with them every month when I pay my bill.

I have had annual contracts with this company for many years to service the heating system in my multifamily house. Until 2011 they had been fine. We had a predicted cold spell at the end of October 2011 and I was out of town. On a Saturday evening my tenants called me and reported no heat. I tried calling this company many times and it took a long time (hours) to get thru to them. When I did they told me they would call me the following day, Sunday, with an appointment time. When I didn't receive a call that morning, I called them. They gave me an appointment for the following Friday - 6 days from when the problem was reported!!! This is unacceptable. How a service company can justify leaving a house without heat for six days is beyond callous. Fortunately, my tenants were able to find someone else to fix the minor problem. The contractor showed up the following Friday. I was not there and do not know what they did. I will change service companies. It turns out that NationalGrid has turned these contracts over to a company by the name of "Home Service USA". Do a Google search on them and you will see what kind of company this is. Maybe this report should be under Home Services USA. I do not know their relationship with NationalGrid. The top of original bill for this service contract says "NationalGrid" but calls for payment to Home Services USA.

I have a service contract with them, but I had to push them hard to do work. I would recommend them to clarify what is included and what is not in the service contract. I will use their services in future.

The guy that came out most recently was very nice and seemed competent. He took a look at my crawl space that has a leak and gave me his opinion that he did not think it was an issue with my HVAC units. They are always professional, on time, and friendly.
Description of Work: They do service on my heating and air conditioning. I have a maintenance agreement with them. They also put in a new water heater for me. I have been using them for a while.

They absolutely stink and they are terrible. I didn't have heat in the winter and they made me set up an appointment for the next day to come out to look at it. I have a service contract and I assumed they would come out the same day for emergency services. In the past system, if you called, they came out to help you. I called congressmen and state senators to get someone to come over to my house. After waiting, finally someone came over and didn't have the right part. They had to come back the next morning. I had to buy a karosene heater to stay warm.
Description of Work: I wanted someone to come out to fix my heat.

It was caused by a sensor. It cost $900.00 for them to figure it out. They were worthless. Their customer service was ok. I thought they were extremely fancy.
Description of Work: They fixed my boiler. It was not staying on.
