JVA MASONRY INC

John came by and seemed like a great guy that I wanted to work with. I gave him the business of replacing 2 cracked 4 foot squares of concrete in front of the house. He had one of his guys come by and do the job in a few hours. Looked good but he still needed to come back to back fill and calk the joints. I paid him in full, since not much was left. A few days later, I noticed a few hairline cracks already formed in the concrete. Yes, these are very small, but living up in the east coast, I fear that when water gets in and freezes, these will expand. When he came back to to back fill, I pointed out the cracks to him, and he said that he forgot to tell me that I should have kept it moist in watering it. But he assured me these would not be a bigger problem, not sure I agree. But again, it was his failure to tell me to keep it wet. Anyway, he still needed to come back again to calk the joints, and he said he will be back in a few days. A month past and he never came back. I called him and when he called me back he said he has been busy dealing with some personal issues but will be there in a few days to finish. It is now December 13th, 4 months after the initial job and he has still not come back to calk the joints. I would not use him again and would not recommend him to anyone. Thanks
