The entire experience was a nightmare. I am just learning that Harbor View Restoration did not use moisture board on the sheet rock covering the basement walls. Unheard of for anyone who claims to know what they are doing. They put vinyl flooring down without a skim coat, --also unheard of--and it buckled immediately with only a few dabs of glue holding it down. When I asked to have the floor removed and replaced, the owner agreed reed someone else could do that, but would only deduct $350 for the cost of the floor. His workers were unsupervised and did not have experience with electrical or flooring, since both were disastrous. The ceiling light fell out of the ceiling, as it was improperly and dangerously inserted into the ceiling. They left piles of debris next to my garage for months, even though I asked to have this removed several times, which they ultimately did. They sprayed plantings in the garden with white paint, again, laziness and ineptitude was evident in their not taking care of the area where they were working. The owner of the company was paid 3/4s of the estimate at that time. When I told him I would not pay him the remainder until he corrected the work, he accused me of fraud and became abusive. I do still have his threats and obscenities from two occasions on recorded phone messages on my desktop computer. I did pay the entire amount to Harbor View, as I became very alarmed by the owner's uncontrolled anger and did not know what to expect next. There is now new mold a year later, as a result of Harbor View throwing mold debris sheetrock from the original remediation they did behind the new walls. This caused toxic black mold and penicillin mold to develop. Biotech Restoration has performed the remediation of the basement by removing all existing walls and debris. The pictures that are attached were taken by Biotech on July 17, 2013. Harbor View Restoration is unprofessional, unethical and threatens the well-being of anyone for whom they perform their shoddy services.
Description of Work: Corrected damage from a sewer storm backup, allegedly removed mold and restored basement as it was originally finished.

They were not paid and then they contacted by letter me demanding money within the next two days. We never had any communication before that regarding money and I thought the letter they sent was uncalled for.
Description of Work: The boarded up my house of a truck hit it and they did a very nice job when they were here. I was told the insurance was going to pay for it.

He came in on 8/28/2011 and had us sign a form that he said was authorization to start work. It was 11:00 PM and totally dark because we didn't have electricity. I signed the paper work, and then after reading it. The last line stated All work has been completed to the insurers satisfaction and that payment should be made to contractor. We ended up going to court over this and ended up having to settle because my mother couldn't afford the lawyer fees. He does electrical and plumbing work without a license and also forged a contract for us. I know that my mother isn't going to get her money back, but I just have to let everyone know about what he did to her. After he found out that the check wasn't going to go to him. He took a lien out on my mother's home and told us that he was going to take us to court. FEMA told us that the total cost should only be a little over $3,000.00 to have the water pumped and the debris removed, but he insisted on the $15,000.00
Description of Work: He was suppossed to restore the enitre basement, fix a crack in the foundation, replace the furnace, water heater, fix a crack in the floor, clean the pool, remove 6 ft of water and debris in basement, and do mold abatement.
