Contractor, Mensur Terzic a/k/a Yuri damaged my home during renovation. He cut an air duct without my knowledge to fit a pipe for our tub, caused many plumbing leaks, and damaged our hardwood floors. He is also unprofessional and inexperienced, although he claims to have many years of experience. I've spent thousands of dollars on repairs since firing him. I do not recommend him.

Hiring Green Line Construction was the worst experience of my life. I hired this company to do a home renovation and not only was the quality of his work poor but also his level of professionalism. He also damaged many things in my home. The contractor, who goes by the name of Yuri, which isn't even his real name promised me licensed subcontractors but he wanted to pocket all of the money. He sent a day laborer, his friend's teenage son, and his nephew who also looked like he wasn't even over 21 yet to help out with renovations on my home and they would smoke cigarettes in the house and leave bottles with cigarette butts everywhere. At one point, he even had his 14 year old sons help in the renovation process. I fired Yuri at Green Line Construction because he had ruined our hardwood floors. Instead of getting a floor professional to sand, stain and seal our floors, he had a day laborer do our floors. He did the floors in sections. The floors were sanded first, but instead of staining right away, he along with his "team" continued to work on the sanded floors for weeks before staining, then when they realized that was a bad idea, the floors were again, sanded, then stained. This process was repeated a couple of times before my husband and I decided to fire him. He had a chance to make things right when the floors were sanded again, but he took it upon himself to stain the floors and ended up ruining them in the process. Yuri also did the plumbing, tile work, and electrical work himself instead of hiring licensed professionals. After firing him, we hired a new contractor, and discovered that there were issues with the plumbing in our house. Everything that was installed by Yuri, including a simple kitchen faucet was leaking. More recently, when we drained a tub in our master bathroom, the water from the tub leaked down to the floor below it. It sounded like it was raining in the house. The tile work was not done evenly and our electrical work had to be redone as well. We also discovered that he cracked a couple of granite tiles in the kitchen, and scratched up the granite top for our new vanities because he was using them as workstations. The glass for our french doors were also scratched because they got paint on the glass and was trying to remove the paint with a sharp tool. He also stained our granite fireplace when he was staining the floors because his workers failed to use tape to protect it. There were opened cans of wood stain and rags with wood stain lying all around the house. There was sand all over our walls from all the sanding done to the floors. He also broke some ceiling tiles and ceiling light covers in our basement when he was working on the plumbing. Garbage was left everywhere. I was getting ants on my front porch because they left food in untied garbage bags sitting there for weeks because he was too cheap to get us a construction container and it didn't occur to him to leave the garbage on the driveway for sanitation to pick up. I could go on and on. Our house looked like a tornado hit it because things were done sloppy and he didn't take any precaution to cover anything up in the house. He didn't care because it wasn't his house. He had his tools lying everywhere on our kitchen counter and stove. He even had his equipment for cutting molding in our house. A real carpenter would have taken it to the front porch or the garage. We really felt that towards the end he just wanted to get paid and rushed through everything, which was why everything was done sloppy. Some days he didn't even show up for work. I recently filing a complaint against him with the BBB and in his response letter, he lied about fireplace work that he did for us when we hired a separate fireplace person to do the work. He also claims to have over 25 years experience, which judging from his work, I believe he probably just started his own company. I found him on Houzz because he had beautiful photos up, but now I'm thinking that the photos belong to someone else's work. Basically, this guy is not professional and not an expert in his field. If you are looking for a high end home renovation, do not hire this company. He is not attentive to detail and his work is shoddy. We have spent so much money on repairs since we fired Yuri. I went with him because he was the cheapest and that was a big mistake because we got what we paid for. I should have spent more money on a real contractor in the beginning. Also, I found out that his license isn't even registered.
Description of Work: He did a home renovations for us, which included remodeling of 3 bathrooms, refinishing hardwood floors, painting, and molding work.
