GARET BUILDING SVC

I had used this company when I first bought this house in 2002 to repair a leak around my chimney. That repair lasted about 8 years. In the meantime, I had called them for new gutters, which they subbed out and installed with no incident (except for never getting a receipt, I have no problem with that work). I dealt with George for that installation. After the hurricane last summer, I noticed the chimney leak was back and left voice mail after voice mail for George. Finally, after 2 weeks, Walter returned my call and told me that George had surgery and that he (Walter) would be by to talk to me. I also had a leak in my skylight and the valley between my house and the house I'm attached to. I also needed a fascia installed on my upper roof that had blown off during the hurricane. Walter showed up, explained to me what he would do and gave me a cost. He arrived as stated and completed the job - or so I thought. I have no way of checking the work done as it was on the roof. Within 2 months, the skylight and chimney were leaking again. I've been calling Walter for over a month to no avail. Finally my son called him on his cell phone and was told that Walter would be here that following Monday. NO SHOW. My son called him back and Walter told my son that he told me there were no guarantees on the skylight and chimney repairs. My son told him to just do what he had to do to fix the leaks CORRECTLY so there would be no further problems. In the meantime, I had already had new drywall installed and the rooms painted. Walter promised my son that he would be here that Friday. AGAIN A NO SHOW!!! I have to hire someone else to do the 2 repairs and, hopefully, it will be done correctly this time.

They didn't call me back until 3 days later. They told me they'd come out on Saturday, but then I got a call later from the wife to say they'd come Sunday. I told her there was supposed to be rain Sunday and I wanted the problem fixed. I called Garet again on Monday and they didn't apologize for not showing up and then she wanted to make another appointment to come to the house. They wanted to come out when it's already dark out in the late evening and I found that pretty ridicolous considering they'd have to use a flashlight. He finally came a couple days ago and and refused to give an exact price. I thought it was going to be the owner, but it turns out it was his nephew. I felt lied to by the lady at the Richmond County Referrel Service and I accused her of having a biased relationship with this company. I still have never gotten a call back for a figure on the estimate and I find them to be extremely unprofessional.

THEY WERE PRETTY GOOD AND DID A GOOD JOB. THEY WERE EFFICIENT IN GETTING THE JOB DONE IN TWO DAYS. I JUST WISH THEIR RESPONSIVENESS WAS A LITTLE BETTER. THEY JUST CALLED AT SIX IN THE MORNING, THEN THEY WERE HERE.
