Frank-Key Services responded to my inquiry within one hour of contacting them -- I was impressed. They also mostly contacted me through text message, which made the scheduling process a breeze. In every interaction, they were professional, kind, and knowledgable. They had too many scheduled appointments to install my lock before the holidays, but they remained in touch and worked hard to make sure we could find a mutually agreeable time for them to come to my apartment. I'm so pleased with their service and my new lock -- I can't recommend them highly enough!

have been using Frank services for numerous times for different properties. He is reliable and dependable at all times he demostrated professionalism. It was the eviction case that we need a lock smith to Change locks on the premises. Frank arrived ahead of time to wait for the marshal's arrival, he waited even there was a delay. I sent him photos of my locks. He stated the locks I have do not exist anymore. I was willing to change my locks, but have had trouble getting work scheduled. I have contacted the company, and the owner keeps telling me that he will call me back to schedule, but has yet to do so.

A shockingly smooth and pleasant experience! Frank very quickly replied to my email and we set up an appt. for the next day. He kindly spread a tarp around the door area, to prevent any possible damage for the wood floor, which turned out to be in no way necessary, but was smart and thoughtful. He was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Didn't overcharge, as can often be the case with locksmiths, and was happy to repair rather than replace the lock. It was quick, easy and refreshing. Couldn't recommend him more highly.

Absolutely terrific. Emailed me back the same day and marked an appt quickly as our schedules aligned. Frank was prompt, thorough and transparent about costs. I was impressed by his work vehicle, it felt more like a mobile workshop! He had everything he needed on hand and completed the work quickly. Solid business, I'd recommend him.

He arrived as scheduled and took care of the problem. He replaced the lock with a new knob that someone else said could not be done, then took care of the recurring issue. We are pleased with his work.

Frank answered the phone on a Friday afternoon, before a holiday weekend, when other locksmiths were not answering their phones and were not scheduling visits. Frank agreed to come the next day and showed up on time. Although I had requested a relatively expensive product, Frank recommended a much less expensive product, and explained why it would work better. Frank also explained why were having certain other problems with our front door. Frank did very good work - the new lock looks much better than the old lock - and Frank charged me a lot less than my prior locksmith. It's hard to find good service people, so I am definitely holding on to Frank's contact information, and am recommending him to others.

Frank was very professional. Showed up when he said he would. He had whatever he needed in his truck. Nice easy going guy. Would definitely use again.

EXCELLENT JOB, very polite and I would highly recommend him. A part needed to be made. Frank Key Locksmith came, made the part, installed it, tighten the handle, put WD40 in the key hole and even made me an extra key. Before he started working put down a drop cloth to keep area clean. Very nice guy. Polite and I would highly recommend him to people for future jobs. The cost was 75.00. I am a very happy customer and wish all the service men I call were like Frank. Thank you!!

Frank returned my phone call immediately and we scheduled an appointment for the same day. He expertly assessed my needs and had all of the materials in his truck to do the job well and quickly. He was very thorough and attentive to detail. I am very pleased with the quality of the work.

We had had 2 previous locks put in that apparently were in error, and kept breaking. Finally we found Frank. He was honest and replaced the entire mechanism, not just the cylinder, for what I know is a reasonable price (I had done some internet research about it). Less than the guy who installed the wrong cylinder had quoted. He also noticed the door wasn't quite hanging correctly, which could have been part of the initial problem and fixed that too at no charge. Now for the first time in owning this apartment my door closes easily without slamming it and the lock is smooth and reliable. I've recommended Frank to all my friends! An honest, knowledgeable locksmith, who knew they really existed!?

Frank was great! He called in advance to let us know he'd be arriving in about a half an hour. He was professional and thorough, and provided a lot of sensible advice and ideas. The door to our apartment has old, old hinges with springs in them and it had gotten noisier than could be believed, with a lot of movement in the hinges. He is ordering replacements - so that part of the job is still in progress - but he greased the hinges in the meantime with some sort of magical mixture that quieted them right down. He also replaced the doorknob on the same door, which hadn't locked (or turned) since we moved into the apartment - we'd been just using the deadbolt. He also replaced a knob on the door out to the deck with one that had a lock and recommended ways to better secure the iron security door leading out to the same area. We mentioned we'd been thinking of replaced the door with an entire new security door with a lock, but he discouraged us, pointing out that due to the size of our doorway it would be a custom job that would cost a lot more than some other, simpler fixes. He worked methodically and was remarkably thoughtful, taking care to do work first in the area away from the room where one of our kids was taking a nap, and left the place immaculate. He also made us a few extra keys for each new lock with the handy key-maker in his truck. We've seen our share of locksmiths - bad ones, and really expensive ones - and Frank was both excellent and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend him.

He came out right away. His prices were competitive. He was very helpful and accommodating. He seemed to be very knowledgable and was very reassuring.

The best part of working with Frank was that he did the job correctly, which is really hard to find in NYC. He replaced a lock that was too small. Not only did he have have the correct-sized lock in his truck (and did a great job installing it) but also that made duplicate keys in his truck. Which is one less trip to the hardware store to get extra keys made. Top-notch service!

I had a shaky door knob and poor cylinder on my front door that needed to be fixed or replaced. Frank-Key Services was highly recommended on Angies List and I decided to use them. The owner, Frank responded to my call. He came over and checked the condition of the knob and knew it was from a badly worn spindle. He recommended I replace and after showing me the wear on the old spindle, I agreed. I was especially impressed with how knowledgeable and professional Frank was as well as his ability to explain the problem and how to fix it clearly and concisely. It was the same for the cylinder. The price was certainly reasonable and I was very happy with the results.

I signed up for Angie's list purely to find a good locksmith in the area. There are at least a hundred to choose from, and yet there doesn't seem to be any easy way to compare prices (short of calling them all individually for a quote). After going through some reviews, I decided upon Frank's service, and I can only echo everything that's been said. He was on time, his price was lower than I expected it to be, and he had the lock changed in minutes. On top of that, he seems to be a genuinely nice guy. What more can you ask for?

My "do it yourself" boyfriend decided to take apart my old door lock and install a new one purchased at Home Depot over Memorial Day Weekend. Once he got the lock apart he realized the Home Depot lock would not work. I now had a front door with no lock on it. After researching Angie's list, I called Frank, the owner of the business. He promised to arrive within the hour. Frank arrived before the agreed on time. He gave me 2 options: fix the ancient lock to maintain the look of the old door or install a shiny new brass one. I chose the new option which was priced very fairly. He did an excellent job installing the new lock and was a real pleasure to do business with. The lock looks and works perfectly. He also noticed my French door did not close properly and fixed that for me also at no charge. Keep in mind, this was all done at the start of the holiday weekend, when it is impossible to get anyone to show up. I highly recommend this business if you are in need of locksmith services. They are reliable, dependable, personable, knowledgeable, do great work and leave the job site immaculate. I will be telling my friends and family about Frank Key. I am very pleased with the service I received.

All went very well. Frank did a great job. He was on time., he is very personable and honest. The communications between him and his office staff is excellent. I have other work that needs to be done. I will be using him and referring him to others. He pointed out other issues we had with other doors and also recommended another serviceman to help with our intercom needs. Frank is very professional and completed installing the peep hole into the door using the specialize equipment to drill thru the metal door at the same day. And then he came back the following week to install the heavy duty latches locks to secure the doors to the roof. He is very responsive and helpful in terms of providing the solutions and keep cost down.
