Description of Work: Frank was great. On time and did a fantastic job. Professional and timely manner. He did what no other locksmith would do. Made me a plate to secure the lock, Other locksmiths told me I needed a new lock which was around 300.00. Frank did the plate for me and charged me only 70.00. Was so satisfied with his service.

Description of Work: I was having trouble with a mortise lock on my front door, and I'd had another locksmith previous to this look at it and tell me he wasn't sure if he could fix it or if a piece of wood might help...really, nothing dependable, and I kept looking. I got in touch with Frank, who asked me to email a picture of the handle/lock to him. He responded promptly and told me he thought he could help, and he'd come by the next day. He did; he explained the lock was an out-of-date mechanism, so he wasn't surprised the other locksmith couldn't do much with it. He removed the lock, had a replacement piece in his truck(!), and was done within an hour. Professional, knowledgeable and friendly, willing to explain what was what. I'd use him again in a heartbeat.

Description of Work: Frank put in a completely new lock and deadbolt. He had to put it into an existing door and modify the door openings to fit the lock. His work was meticulous. He also vacuumed several times the metal filings. A decorative handle was not available to complete the job. He special ordered it for me and installed it a couple of weeks later. He did not accept any money until the job was completed. I would recommend him to anyone, and will certainly use him in the future.

Description of Work: Frank replaced a latch-mechanism and lock on our front door. He was extra diligent, fixing everything he saw (including the strike) and took every step to keep the price as low as possible -- he contacted the manufacturer and communicated with them about the problems we were having, hoping that they would replace the latch mechanism. In the end, it was clear that misuse on our end had caused the problem, so we had to cover the cost. Frank was fantastic about informing us as he figured out our problem, and the door is like new.

Description of Work: Frank Stan and Bob were AMAZING. I live in a prewar building with locks as old as 1900! Another locksmith charged me a FORTUNE and did nothing. These men were fair, patient and did research and gave me excellent options on how to proceed. I would use them again in a heartbeat. I now have working locks!!!!!A++++++++

Description of Work: I needed all new locks put in at my new home and I called Frank Key for help. He called me back within a half hour of my reaching out to him and arrived later that day to have a look at my situation. I thought it was only going to be a consultation- which was fine with me, the job was big - but he got to work right away, changing locks, making multiple sets of new keys and ordering parts for things that were broken and needed replacing right on the spot! I was very impressed and relieved, of course, to have my house secured so quickly. I felt Frank was beyond responsive, professional and knowledgeable about the latest technology.

Description of Work: The only time I used Angies list for a service was when I found Frank Key in their mailer. I wanted to add a lock to a closet door in my loft. My doors are commercial doors. He showed up on time with a helper and after looking at the mechanism in my door realized the job was more entailed then we first thought. He spent a lot of time on the project and was able to retro fit a lock from another door that didn't need a lock to fit the lock on the door in need. It was like working a puzzle. He did a great job that I don't think another locksmith would have done; he and his assistant spent extra time on the job and he stuck to his original quote. I thought it was only fair to tip him an extra $50. I still felt I was under paying when I considered the time of 2 men traveling to my house with tools and the skill to do a job that most would not or could not do. My lock is working great and because he retro fitted another lock the door looks nice too, no extra big lock above the handle. Thank you Frank.
