Initial installation seemed fine. Within a few months most of the transitions/thresholds came loose. They offered to glue them back down. About 6-9 months after installation a number of floor planks started separating from each other. They came out to look at the issue and told us this was due to the humidity levels in the Condo and offered to take up and re-install the affected areas for a fee. They estimated it would be approx 4-5 hours at $100 per hour. Interestingly, they verified the humidity levels prior to ordering the floor and again just prior to installation and said they were fine. Tried to resolve the problem with both Finishline and Lumber Liquidators with no satisfactory resolution.
Description of Work: Installed a floating bamboo floor purchased from Lumber Liquidators.

apply 3 coats and a sealer using Bona-Kemi. John said they did good work and on the rare occasion they fell short - they would rectify. I was very impressed with his humility and work ethic. We decided to sign the contract, 1,000.00 deposit and move foreward. The day of refinishing had arrived. We moved our mattress on the floor, closet of clothes, card table and chairs downstairs. The work area involved upstairs - great room, kitchen, hallway, bedroom and stairs. They requested we not be there and allow several hours for drying. We complied They told us when we returned home to wear socks only that evening and we did. We of course were so excited to see the finished product. At first glance everything looked great. Upon further review I began to notice several problems big and little They missed several areas on the floor - the dark stain remained. One of the planks in the great room was damaged with poor attempt at repair Several hairs, fibers and grit were embedded into the sealer. There was collateral damage as well... Somehow there was a sealer stain on my drapes in the bedroom and a chunk missing from the bedroom door at the bottom. I was upset to say the least but I remember John Kolbaska reassuring me that he stands by his work. I reassure myself that it will be ok Next day I contact FinishLine and speak with Casey. She appears genuinely concerned and assures me she will have someone come out- who is meticulous and will make everything right. I was so relieved. To my total and complete dismay- the same crew was sent out. We seemed to have a language barrier the first time- this was an encore. Some problems were fixed and many more created. When I called basically they told me to keep my deposit and go on my way. I wanted to pay them in full and get the job done right. now I can't even get a call back. I am frustrated and furious that a business can behave in such an unprofessional way and get away with it. I will do everything. I can to protect other consumers from going through the h*** I experienced. Still waiting for resolution!!!
Description of Work: Created a major headache... It all began with the move- my husband and I are newly retired and so excited to get situated in our new condo. The hard wood floors needed to be refinished. We wanted to get them sanded & sealed before we moved in. We did not want to deal with moving furniture- which would involve additional cost and hassle. We did a little research, read some nice reviews and decided to contact FinishLine. I was most impressed with their Eco-friendly approach. I even had the opportunity to discuss my Eco concerns with owner John Kolbaska. He reassured me they would sand not stain, use three coats and a sealer - using product Bona -Kemi. John also assured me that their work is top notch and they stand by their work. John also stated that FinishLine was not perfect but would rectify any problems. I was totally impressed by his hishumilityhumility did a little research, read some nice reviews online regarding FinishLine. I contacted them I contracted FinishLine Contractors to refinish my floors prior to moving furniture into my condo in fact it all began rather nicely i read several positive reviews online. I even spoke with owner John Kolbaska i wanted the job completed In an Eco-friendly way. John reassured me that they would use Bona-Kemi 3 coats & a sealer He went on to say that

Description of Work: I contacted Finishline Construction on June 20, 2012 for an estimate on refinishing one hardwood floor & the installation of a new hardwood floor in a seperate room. I left a message, received a return call later the next day from the owner where we scheduled an appointment for an estimate on June 25, 2012. No representative from Finishline showed for our 6pm appointment. At 7pm I attempted to contact the company and left a message. No one has returned my call since June 25, 2012.

Being told it would take only two days for all this work, it still isn't finished and that was a year ago. Crown molding wasn't cut with the proper tool so the seams are very visible. The balustrades were installed incorrectly so that the cuts show when they should not. You can still see the pencil marks on the banister which should have been removed. Some of the board on the floor were broken upon installation and left in place. John spilled the top coat on the floor leaving spill marks. John excuses these issues by stating that he still needs to do another top coat. He has not come to see the damage and probably never will. I would not let them back in my home under any circumstances.
Description of Work: Installed hardwood floors, refinished stairs and put in new railing. Crown molding.
