City Decks

I called City Decks on Thursday (4/17) and set-up a meeting at my home the following week. One hour after the appointment time, there still wasn't any sign of the contractor and I ended up calling the company to find out if anyone was going to show up. I left my home and cell numbers on their voice mail and have not received a call back since. I guess business must be booming if they can afford to turn down prospective clients! This is the reason I joined Angie's list shortly afterwards and lo and behold, I'm not the only person to report this exact experience. There's plenty of other deck builders available, so I'm now setting up other appointments with them. Fingers crossed.

I arrived home at the arranged time. No one showed up for the appointment nor did I receive a call canceling or rescheduling the appointment. I called and left messages at City Decks and on Anthony's cell phone asking for an explanation. I didn't receive any return calls.

Anthony, Carlos and their team did a fantastic job. I love my new deck. Communication was excellent every step of the way. They were patient and thorough when walking me through the plans. I love the module design. They were quick, efficient and flexible with the schedule to accommodate mine. Thank you for a job well done. I highly recommend City Decks.

We were really hoping to write a positive review for this company, however over the last month they have completely flaked out on us. We contacted City Decks because we were looking to have a repair and revision made to our existing roof deck. We made an appointment to have Anthony come out on April 22nd to look at our project. The project manager Staci emailed (instead of calling) shortly before he was scheduled to arrive that Anthony was running behind schedule and they were going to reschedule our appt. We rescheduled for the following day. Anthony arrived on time and we had a nice chat about the deck and the work that needed to be done. It seemed like he had some good ideas for our project and we were looking forward to working with City Decks. We made an appointment for April 25th for the carpenter to come take measurements. Unfortunately the carpenter never showed up or called. When I called about 20 mins after he was supposed to be there I got an email back saying that he had come by, but no one was home or that he had trouble ringing the doorbell. Maybe this second missed appointment was a sign? Anyway, they rescheduled again for the following day and had Anthony accompany the carpenter. They arrived on time, took the measurements and said they would come back to us with an estimate. A week later, May 1st I wrote asking about the estimate. They provided the estimate the same day and we wrote back the following day with a couple of questions and a request to schedule the job. May 4th they wrote back saying they had a few jobs already booked and weren't available to start for a couple of weeks, but that they would produce a proposal for us. We wrote back two days later saying that time frame was fine with us and asked that they provide us with a contract and insurance certificate and licenses for our coop board's approval. 4 days later, May 10th Anthony wrote back saying that they would get back to us in two weeks to schedule the work. We wrote back asking for clarification on starting work vs. providing a contract and he said he would come back to us within a week and a half on their availability. That was now over 6 weeks ago. We sent two emails asking for an update on June 1st and June 8th without any response. All I can think is that either this company has gone out of business or that they are very irresponsible.

City Decks, built a wonderful roof deck for us, the service was friendly and very efficient, I highly recommend them, they explained everything in detail and even provided us with a 3D rendering of how our deck would look like, it was amazing to see the design come together in real life.
