Description of Work: My overall rating would be lower if it were not for the professionalism of the technician. I have no issue with that. My issue was with pricing of parts. | |First off I asked the rep on the phone if the Tech could call me 15-30 mins before he was due to arrive so I could leave work and meet him at the house. No call came. The only call came from my wife would said there was a truck outside our house waiting. I had to fly home to meet the tech. | |The Tech spotted the problem right away and informed me it would be $235 for the Part and an additional $75 for the Service Call. I asked why the Service call fee was not waived since I was going to go ahead with the work. He said it was their "Policy". I have to be honest. I have had maybe 10-15 or so companies do repairs on various issues at my homes and have ALWAYS had the service fee waived if I had a repair done and paid for parts. | |Now as for the pricing. I looked the part up online and it RETAILED for $45. I think a 500% markup is quite excessive. Especially since they are not waiving the service call fee. I expect to pay a steep markup for parts. But 500%? And that's off the retail price. The wholesale price they pay is more like a 600% markup. I emailed them to inquire about the 500% markup and they never denied they marked up the part that much. They just told me I could have paid less if I had a maintenance agreement. To which I replied...I don't need to save 10% off parts that are marked up 500%. No thanks I will take my business elsewhere.

Description of Work: On a cold winter's day our 'antique' heating system dating probably from the 1950s decided to 'die'. Frantic, we called Mimms, and I cannot say enough to describe how wonderful they were. There were there the next morning, and installed a WHOLE NEW SYSTEM, HEATING AND HOT WATER HEATER in just ONE DAY. They made sure before they left that evening all the radiators were drained, and everything was working well. I have not had one problem with anything since then, and highly recommend them.

+ -1 moreWE HAVED USED THEM MORE THAN ONCE SO I'M GUESSING THEY ARE PRETTY GOOD. THE PRICE COULD PROBABLY BE A LITTLE LOWER, BUT THAT COULD PROBABLY BE JUST ABOUT ANYTHING.
Description of Work: THEY VACUUMED IT OUT AND DID ACTUAL MAINTENANCE ON HEATER CHECKING THE FILTER AND CHECKING THE FLAME.

+ -1 moreTO ME, THEIR WORKMEN ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. THEY JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING, AND THEY SEEMED TO TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT. THEY PREFERRED TO DO A QUICK FIX RATHER THAN THE RIGHT FIX. I HAD TO CALL THEM BACK FOR THE SAME PROBLEM ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS.

+ -1 moreTHEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY CAME VERY QUICKLY. THEY WERE VERY PERSISTENT IN TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM, WHICH WAS GOOD. HE TOOK THE PART, AND WHEN HE WENT BACK, HE CHECKED TO SEE IF IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. WHEN HE FOUND OUT HE CALLED US AND SAID WE DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR ANYTHING.
Description of Work: IT WAS AIR CONDITIONING WORK. MY A/C KEPT FREEZING UP. THEY DID WHATEVER TESTS WERE NECESSARY TO SEE THAT IT WAS A FROZEN VALVE. THEY FIXED IT.
