I was recommended to Anthony and he seemed very down to earth and personable. When he came to give an estimate of things we needed done around the house, I asked if he did bathrooms. He said he did and showed me pictures of a few. We decided to hire him to renovate our bathroom and after waiting a month for him to be available, he told me he was coming by to bring contracts and get a deposit which was 2 days before the job. I was asking him what his required deposit was and he didn't answer for 2 weeks, then the night before he asked me to have a $1500 deposit. I told him that I thought that was a lot since he didn't have to lay out any money, because I bought all the materials, he immediately caught an attitude and said he was insulted and is refusing to take the job. Then I spoke to him and told him that I didn't mean to insult him, just thought a $500.00 deposit would be suffice and then I would split the payments in three and give him one installment at the beginning, one in the middle and one at the end of the job. He agreed to that payment plan. He claimed that we were ok, and he will be by my house to pick up the deposit and he never showed. So I texted him asking him when he will be coming to get the deposit and sign contracts and once again, he said, I hope you can understand, I am not able to accept this job. So, 2 days before renovation with all the supplies in my garage, he bailed. I have my elderly parents with me and made arrangements for them to accommodate the renovation the date Anthony said he would start. I personally think that he wasn't confident on doing the job because looking back, he came twice to measure and asked me to send pics of my bathroom. He seemed unsure of himself. I think he handled this in an extremely unprofessional way and I would never recommend him. Luckily, I was recommended to another company and he only asked for a $500.00 deposit and he said he wouldn't put the tiled floor over the old one like Anthony was going to do because it would be a potential trip hazard. I specifically told Anthony that the most important thing is the safety of my parents. Thankfully this other contractor also realized that Anthony was off with his tile estimation so we had to order more tiles. So once again...this company I would not recommend.
