SPEEDY APPLIANCE

At this point in time I do not recommend repairing appliances unless they are very high end. Speedy came out to repair a dryer. The dryer new is $800.00. The repair was $400.00. You do the math. When it comes to Microwaves, dishwashers, Washers, Dryers, etc.it is a just a waste to repair given the costs. No matter what you do the cost is always between $300.00 and $400.00 and that is with most appliance repairs not just Speedy. Better to buy new. I could have had a new dryer delivered in a few days and on my schedule including weekends. Even with such a high cost to repair Speedy had to order the part. Really? The dryer is only a few years old. I then had to wait 14 days for them to come out and install the part. Definitely not acceptable for $400.00 repair and I had to call and call to check on the status. They did not call me. Had I not called I could see this going out a month given their stellar attention to customer service. The next issue with Speedy is their scheduling. They do not give solid AM or PM window slots. It is always 4-5 hours and cuts thru the middle of the day. Very inconvenient if you are staying home waiting for them. It basically kills your whole day. In the future I will attempt the repair myself or just buy new. I was having trouble with my gas stove and started googling and you tubing the issue. It was highly suspected that it was the igniter. I took the model number and ordered the part on Amazon. It came in two days. It took me about 10 minutes to install it and it cost me $60.00. There are companies out there that will now guide you in self repairs if you are shy. If I can't buy a new appliance that will be my plan B. NO MORE APPLIANCE REPAIR companies. They are nothing but aggravation and a waste of time and money. Good Luck with your repair.
