HI-QUAL HEATING & COOLING

They come out every year. They installed the unit years ago and they have been the only one servicing it. They installed out furnace and air conditioning system and later on they installed a gas fireplace insert and they've done yearly maintenance on all the systems. The workers are professionals and have been excellent. They explain things if there are problems.

Experience was very good. It was excellent. The owner came out when they were doing the job and I liked that. I got someone here that was good quality and I liked it. He was good and very excellent work. The price was excellent. He came up the best for price. Quality is excellent. Very professional.

THey're fantastic. They are! They came in thousands of dollars less for the same furnace that other people were trying to sell us. It was huge! They ran the duct work and the whole trial of it. The reason we needed duct work in our house was because it was all electric house when we built it and they forced the duct work up between the walls so we didn't have to tear any walls out. They were excellent, and like I said they were thousands of dollars less than anyone else. Everybody else was doing $11,000 to put in a new furnace with duct work and an air conditioner, and they did it for $7,000. Price was excellent. They were in and out when they said they would. They cleaned up. They were just perfect. I called them, they came and gave me a quote. They came and looked at the house and gave me a quote within two days time. When we just made the decision to do it, they did it within a week. The turn around was excellent, because this was in the middle of February when we did it, and you know that New York is cold! But we had a wood burning stove that kept us warm, so we weren't in any crisis.

Bill was prompt on getting to us for an estimate and very fair on the price quoted. The installation was yesterday and the guys actually showed up a few minutes early, and when they said they were going to take a 1/2 hour lunch break - they were really back in about 20 minutes. They worked hard all day and were very considerate of our home. I think they left our basement cleaner than how they found it! Tom and his crew were extremely nice and Tom even helped me fill out the rebate paperwork for RG&E.

They are always easy to schedule, friendly and seem to do quality, fair work. The last repair they did was a little more costly, however apparently it was because of the part needed in our less than standard furnace...

Great. Guys are friendly. They were very neat in their work and clean up afterwards. They did a quick neat job and there have been no problems since. Were very responsive when I called with questions and also when calling for annual service.

We did not get Hi-Qual's name from Angie's List but rather from a recommendation from a neighbor but I am glad they are a member of Angie's List so I can write this review. Bill Hill has a great business and my husband and I highly recommend him! Bill gave us a quote in September for a new air conditioner but we held off replacing the old one due to uncertainty with my husband's job. We eventually decided we should just go ahead and get it done and Bill honored the price even though it was past the 30 days normally guaranteed for an estimate. Yesterday was installation day and things went quite smoothly. The crew of Tom and John were great. They showed up on time and were very courteous and conscientious and they did a great job of cleaning up after the job was completed.

This company has provided very good service. My boiler was red tagged as it had a carbon dioxide leak. They provided very cost effective and fast service. Their service technician is very knowledgeable and even teaches at the local technical high school. Bill, the owner was very helpful in getting us back into heating our house as fast as he could get a new boiler in. There was one problem with the manufacturer of the boiler. Bill and the technician worked to find a solution, which ended up they had to send a new circuit board. Once installed, the system worked flawlessly though the heating season. On an additional note, I had them install whole house air conditioning in the spring of 2012. I had Hi-Qual and one other vendor quote on the job. Bill's design of the the install was almost 1/3 the price of the other vendor and installed so that we lost no space in our basement or rooms. All was able to fit above the ceiling and in wall cavities. The total cost was about $11,500 as the other vendor was stuck on providing a Cadillac system at $28,000. Of course my installed system it may not have as high efficiency rating as the Cadillac system, but there would never be a payback in money and the loss of space in our basement rooms and install demolition of the higher end system was just not worth it. The service techs were very clean and respectful. I would recommend Bill and Hi-Qual for any system work in your home.

Hi-Qual was professional, responsive, respectful and courteous. we have since had them back to clean the furnace and change the igniter. That was also a wonderful experience. I would recommend this company to anyone getting heating or cooling work done. as a matter of fact I plan to use them again in the spring to install central air.

I like that they were punctual and did an overall good job. I would highly recommend them to others and think their pricing is very fair.

Hi-Qual sent a tech out who spent three hours fiddling around with our system, only to report that he didn't know why my boiler stopped and that there wouldn't be a supervisor available to help until the next day (it was late afternoon at this point). Later that night, our tenants began to smell gas. Fortunately our tenant has a background in contracting and carpentry, so he knew how to shut the system off. As it turns out this guy from H-Qual had drained all the water out of the system and left the gas on. Had it not have been for my tenant, he and his wife may not be here, and of less importance, neither would my house! Needless to say we called another HVAC company (High Performance) who came out, identified the problem (it was a valve) and fixed it in 45 minutes, then they repaired the damage caused by the other tech! Then to add insult to injury, Hi-Qual tried to bill me for their services, or lack thereof. It took a heck of an argument on our part to get them to understand that not only should we not be responsible for their bill, that they should be responsible for the damage their tech caused to our system (of course they never did compensate us for the damage they caused,). Please do not call these guys, call High Performance instead!!!!!

About five years ago, I used them to install a humidifier, and they did a great job. Last summer I called them about the compressor on our air conditioner. The compressor was moving, and he just arranged some bricks under it to stop that, and showed me why the concrete was deteriorating. Essentially what he did was come and showed me how to get more life out of my air conditioner. No charge.

I called them on a short notice to get the furnace and AC units serviced/cleaned in a new home I just purchased. They were able to come out with a couple of days notice and on the only day I could be at home which made me very happy. The technician was prompt, professional, did exactly what was asked without trying to sell us something we did not need. I have had some bad experiences with other companies who tell you you need to do this or that to a unit when you really do not need to. He simply cleaned and inspected the units at a very reasonable price.

Overall everything went very good. I am very pleased with the way everything was handled from start to finish. My old furnace broke about 2 weeks ago and Hi-Qual replaced an ignition module to get it going again. But I was planning on having the furnace replaced anyway so Mr. Hill was nice enough to credit the cost of the part toward my new furnace, something I know a lot of companies will not do. Anyway they arrived on time, just showed them where the old furnace was and they went right to work and I never heard from them until they were finished. Cleaned up the area very nice and explained everything I needed to know. I would recommend them to my friends, which I already have.

A GREAT GROUP OF MEN CAME ON TIME, EACH HAVING THEIR OWN JOB TO INSTALL THE A/C. THEY WERE COURTEOUS, DID ALL THE WORK IN A WELL ORGANIZED TIMELY MANNER. CLEANED UP EVERYTHING. WE RECOMMENDED THEM TO FIVE DIFFERENT PEOPLE WHOM I AM SURE WILL ALSO BE PLEASED.

Hi-Qual Heating & Cooling was a very excellent company. We use them a lot and they are always very good and charge very reasonably.
