Description of Work: Get house up to Village code, incl. install pool alarms, child-locks on gates, smoke detectors, etc.

Description of Work: Install two three panel windows on second floor and replaced approximately 40 feet Of 1 x 6 ft tong and groove cedar. Cost of materials not included

Description of Work: Southampton Handyman put in a new roof.

Description of Work: I hired replaced a lock on my front door and repaired a lock on a sliding door.

Description of Work: I've used them twice, once off season and once on. Off season, he was great , did a pretty easy job really well, was personable and the price was reasonable. I really like Greg... but, on season-- uh oh. I think he forgot I was not a'New Yorker!' The second job he sent his workers, ( which I think is the whole problem. Greg you have to supervise these guys- they don't work like you do) who were not efficient, did not set up the work in the way another contractor friend explained it should be done and therefore had to repeat the job a few times before they got it right, and then charged me for all the failed attempts! I'm dissapointed because it is hard to find a good reliable handyman in the Hamptons that doesn't dump you in the summer, and I thought I had found one. Oh well. Given the dearth of decent handymen out here, I might hire Greg himself again, and get a good estimate up front, simply because he is a very pleasant guy to work with. In the winter!

Description of Work: Greg met with me in August & we went over the list of several things I needed done. He quoted me a rate of $40.00 an hour total, including any assistants, which is very reasonable. He was to return the next Friday at 10:00 AM. He called & cancelled that morning. Ditto for the next appointment. He said he was working a big job & wouldn't have time for at least a month & would call me when he did. I called him in Oct. & we made an appointment for this past Friday. He showed up 1 hour late, but out in the Hampton's, that's pretty good. He had an assistant & they went up on my roof to look for a seam leak. He left the helper to seal all seams & started the bathtub caulking. The surround bottom seam needed sealing. The helper came down to tell us, in very broken English, he 'broke' something by the skylight. Greg asked if he fixed it & the guy said yes. Greg finished the caulking & left 45 minutes after he arrived, saying he'd return to do more work next Friday, which is today, at the same time. After he left I looked at the caulking job & found gaps still existed between the surround & tub & that he put a white bead of caulking at the bottom outside of the tub which looks really bad against the beige/brown floor tiles & beige tub. I did not ask him to do that. I was also not happy that he didn't even check the roof to see what his helper 'broke' & repaired. I called him a couple of days later & said that I wasn't happy & needed him to redo the caulking & check the roof when he returned Friday. It's now Friday, 12:30 & he hasn't shown & I doubt he will. He did not leave a bill last week & I don't know if one will arrive in the mail but the MOST I would consider paying him is for 45 minutes. Nothing at all if I find my skylight leaks!

Description of Work: HEATING ELEMENT IN THE DISHWASHER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
