+ -1 moreRA installers (they sent two roofers and a carpenter to do the work on my chase) arrived on time. They did not stand around chatting and smoking (no smoking). The foreman explained what he wanted them to do and they promptly went to work. They worked a full day, cleaned up the property and came back the next morning ON TIME to finish. My property was immaculate when the job was finished; I did not find one single nail, scrap of shield or shingle. The men were friendly but professional. I did not hear anyone yell or swear the entire time. There was one tricky corner that had been leaking before the new roof was installed. They noticed where the rain water had dripped and took extra care in that spot. A week or two after the roof was installed, it rained. The rain dripped in the old spot, and rain water was going behind the gutters on the garage eaves. I called. Cindy (co-owner) sent someone the very next day to fix those two things. I have not had any problems in the year and a half the roof has been on. Hurricane Sandy ripped the siding off one side of my house but not one shingle was lifted. I cannot say enough good things about Rich Aluminum. The $100-higher price was well worth it because I got the best quality and best service.
Description of Work: I can't find my receipt so I don't want to say how much I spent, but I can say that Rich Aluminum's price was only slightly higher than the other estimates. Bryon, the rep who came to do the estimate was very professional and KNOWLEDGEABLE. I know quite a bit about construction, so I eliminated other roofers because I could tell they didn't really know how much about installation or materials. After extensive research online, I chose GAF shingles. Rich Aluminum (RA) is a certified GAF installer. GAF shingles came with a 50-year warranty and Rich Aluminum gave a 10-hr warranty on labor. GAF requires their dealers to go to training every year. Real warranties, not pro-rated. I also had RA remove a fireplace chase no longer being used. It was causing huge ice dams where it met the roof. RA did a fantastic job removing that. Since my 24-hr-old siding could not be matched, RA came up with an excellent way to reuse the old siding from the chase. They installed Grace Ice and Water Shield almost everywhere. Where the remaining chase butts up against the side of the house, they removed the siding and placed the water and ice shield about 18" on each seam in the sheathing. Where roofs on the first floor meet the siding (back porch roof, front porch roof, etc.), they removed siding and added the water and ice shield three feet up the wall and down onto the roof without any seams. Another thing I like about RA is their employees are trained well, they undergo background checks, they are not loud and don't use vulgar language, they are nice and very helpful. (They even removed a snake's nest under my wheelchair ramp!) Twice I've had problems with contractors' employees who had criminal backgrounds, so the background checks done by RA meant a lot to me. I HIGHLY recommend this company.

+ -1 moreI had an estimate done for some vinyl siding and fascia damage repair. The estimate was canceled the first go around, no big deal they communicated that ok. The person who came was professional. I ended up not liking the price which came to $235 for a job that was not going to take longer than an hour and where materials were going to cost less than $35. I will give them another chance in the future but they aren't very cost affective for small jobs. not a big surprise here.

+ -1 moreI chose Rich Aluminum because they are GAF Certified. GAF shingles offer a warranty on their 50 year shingles, as well, as 10 year warranty on the labor done as long as the company is GAF Certified. I only had two minor problems that I did not notice until it rained and when I called them they came out within 24 hours. They were professional and pleasant. They put up with a lot for me and were very accomodating. I would highly recommend them! Their prices were fair, as well.

+ -1 moreThe GAF shingles on my house failed prematurely causing leakage. GAF recommended that I contact Rich Alumium to start the warranty process and make temporary repairs. Their representative came promptly and took all the measurements and also made arrangements to temporarily repair the leaks. That service was done to my satisfaction. The estimate for the total repair though was not correct. I called the representative a few times and got no return calls. Months later, after finally getting a settlement from GAF, I recontacted them. That original rep had quit which is why he did not return my call. A new rep came out and remeasured but couldn't get me a quote for a week. Seemed long for a simple quote but I was okay with that. He called a week later and gave me the quote over the phone. I requested that he send me the written quote and gave him the choice of email or snail mail. A month later I'm still waiting. I guess they don't want my business.
