The overall result during the installation and after was extremely impressive. The contractor and crew were very experienced, polite, and professional. The price was more than fair. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone who is looking for home insulatiing work.

We were satisfied with this service. The contractor did everything he said he would and nothing he didn't. We made a slight change to original work plan and he credited the bill when it wasn't performed. He took care to cover everything up so it wouldn't make a mess and cleaned up afterward. His workers were polite and courteous. They completed the job in a timely manner as promised. Hi solution to our odd/drafty 2nd floor made a difference that we could feel. He know what he was talking about!

The second story of my 1920 colonial home was significantly colder in the winter and hotter in the summer than the first floor. To save on energy costs and to be more comfortable I researched the concept of blown insulation. I found Tom Gonzales on Angie's list and made a call. He returned my call within 24 hours and was at my home for an estimate by the end of the week. My house is challenging - plaster walls, lots of angles and overhangs and he spent at least 30-40 minutes going over every inch of the house. The next day he called with the estimate, I ok'ed the work and in about 2 weeks he and 2 other workers came right on time. The project took the better part of two days. When he found that he couldn't blow insulation into part of a wall due to a internal structure, he credited me $250 dollars off the price. It was expensive, but worth the investment. Tom was very professional and knowledgeable and his crew was courteous and everything was left clean. They patched the interior wall hools, but I had to sand and repaint my afterwards. A couple of weeks afterward, I realized that a platform that was supposed to be built in the attic had not been built. There was apparently a miscommunication with one of his team members. I called Tom on a Saturday to tell him and he called me back within an hour and made arrangements to come back and do the installation. Within a few days of the work being complete the temperatures plunged and I could feel the dramatic improvement. My closets weren't as cold as the outdoors and I did not have to increase the thermostat to make the upstairs warm while roasting downstairs (old house - no zone heating). I am looking forward to a Winter of not having to wear long underwear and sweaters when I work in my home office or read in my bedroom. I really recommend Tom and his company if you are considering this type of service.

Tom told me that a lot of times he visits a potential customer and discovers that the problem the homeowner wants to address is not the real problem, as with my house. When we bought the house the inspector said in his report that the attic was well insulated, but during Tom's initial visit he showed me all the areas where the insulation was lacking and where I was losing heat in the winter, as well as that since the batt insulation did not go all the way to the end of the roof line, that was one of the reasons I had ice damming. I interviewed two other companies for the job, one did not come back with an estimate until a few weeks after the job was done, the estimate was very high, and it was for blowing the walls - which it turned out I did not need anyway. The other company I had come look at the house also did not check the walls to see if there was existing insulation, and while he did look at the attic he just told me that he would do the attic for an extra $800 on top of the wall job. On the day that Tom was supposed to do the work he showed up on time with his helper and was done before 3pm. The house was clean and there was a very think layer of blown insulation in the attic. The house does not seem as drafty as it was before and once we start actually heating the house I'll see what other changes that we notice.

The house has definitely been cooler this summer and the sound from room to room has be minimal. They did a great job. It took them three days to complete the work. Tom was super friendly, courteous, and organized. Very professional company.

Discount did a terrific job for us!! They gave us a great price and accomplished it on very quick notice, mainly because it was the slow season and Tom, the owner, was fresh back from vacation. (This was end-of-summer 2007). We are first-time house owners who in doing a major kitchen renovation discovered our entire downstairs had no insulation--which, evidently, is not that unusual for older houses. Tom was quiet-spoken, courteous, and extremely competent. He explained the process--blowing in cellulose, which is his specialty--and our options. You can choose to do it from either the outside or the inside, and we chose the inside which I would heartily recommend. (Although doing it from the inside means you need to do touch-up work, it doesn't leave you with an outer shell riddled with repatched holes.) We contacted him on Tuesday, he came and gave us an estimate on Wed, and did the job on Thursday. He did the work himself with one other helper and it took them just a few hours--but we have a small house, the downstairs (which is all they did) being probably only 1,000 sq ft max. Tom knows exactly what he's doing and he does it with grace and efficiency. What more could you ask for?!

The crew showed up on time, were neat, professional and did a complete job. Since they were working inside they were very conscientious in the protection of furniture, carpeting and flooring. They cleaned up their work and were done in one day.

Tom and his co-worker completed the work in 2 days. They arrived on time, were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. Tom had insulated our first house 12 years ago and we were happy with both jobs.

The job was performed exactly as promised, on-time and cleanly. We were very satisfied.

THEY RESPONDED VERY QUICKLY. THEY CALLED BACK AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE. THEY GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE. THEY WERE VERY CLEAN. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD BE DONE WITHIN 4 HOURS, AND THEY WERE DONE IN THREE HOURS. THEY MET ALL THE OBJECTIVES THAT THEY HAD SET. THEY ASKED ME WHAT AREAS I WANTED LEFT UNCOVERED AND WHERE WE WANTED THE CELLULOSE. THEY DID EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED THEM TO DO.
