John Joseph Custom Pools & Masonry

Absolutely awful, horrendous job, the worst I have ever seen. This is not only our opinion but also one of their workers, it is an exact quote. The owner never showed up, not even once. My kidney shaped pool became an oval because I cant speak Spanish. The steps were installed crooked. Their electrician knew only these English words, $150 more dollars . Took 9 days after they filled the pool with water for their electrician to show up to hook up the filter. By that time the new pool was a dark brown, mosquito larvae filled mess their workers asked if they could go swimming in it then laughed about it ! This is the 1st negative review I have ever posted on any site- but it is well deserved. BUYER BEWARE !!

We had John Joseph install our pool and redo our whole backyard. We also continue to use them for openings and closings. They return all call very quickly and have came for any problems that we have encountered. We would 100% recommend them. Nestor is amazing with his vision to accompany the pool.

I chose this company over 3 other reputable pool companies in Long Island after going through design and quote process. When I met John, he gave me the confidence that he knew exactly what we were looking for. Not only he knew all the technologies we asked for such as ozone system, salt, automation and lighting, but he also knew the town codes. He advised exactly when to apply and how to plan the installation of the new pool. When I had some concerns, he showed up to address them properly. During the installation they met every date I asked them to perform. They even did extra things that were not on the contract and paid attention to details that I was not aware of. Girls in the office have always been kind and were extremely helpful during liner selection process. Nestor was incredibly patient during the whole design process. He listened to what we had in our mind and he brought it to life. He took his time for all details. The entire team was kind and respectful. Every day at the end of day, they cleaned up the working area and left. John Joseph was not the cheapest company out of the four, however, they delivered everything i asked for and more with quality. Overall I am very happy and endorse this company for any new pool installation.

Very happy! Multiple teams for every step of the way. Everyone was very nice and great at what they were doing. They re did my pool, changed the depth, new liner, all new masonry, etc.

I signed on to JJ POOLS because they build a great pool. Every contractor who came to do work in preparation of my new pool said what great job JJ pools did. I believe its a strong compliment when your piers in your industry reach out and admit to a homeowner that they were impressed with the work being performed.. I had many choices when it came to buying a pool. I interviewed several who in my opinion had some crazy ideas that made no sense and I believe shouldn't be in the pool business. It was a breath of fresh air to here JJ Pools explain the entire process which finally made sense. I want to thank Kara and John who took the time to back up the project, especially Kara who I know took personal interest and time to answer texts, calls and meetings with the town and John who also took time to reach out and make sure I was satisfied and assured me that going forward in the years to come they would stand by their pool.. I apologize if I ruffled any feathers along the way that's just me. Thank you again for all your support, patience and time..

We had a new liner installed in a large inground pool as well as a change over to a salt system with all new equipment. We also had a complete demolition and renovation of our back yard with masonry work throughout. Everything about this experience was perfect. We did speak to other companies and received estimates; one of our frustrations with the other companies was that they never arrived when we expected them, and it took numerous efforts of our taking off from work to get these estimates. When we called John Joseph, the first impression was great. John the ownerof John Joseph Pools, arrived on time as per our appointment. He gave us an extimate which was accurate and fair. The only changes in the estimate during the project were for items which we added in and we were advised of the costs in advance so that we could make an informed decision. The work started on time and ended by the date we were quoted. This was a concern of ours because we were hoping to have our son's engagement party in the backyard. John's entire team of workers were all professional and courteous and even stopped by the morning of our party to make sure the pool looked perfect. Everyone went out of their way to explain each step. When we did have a need to speak to John for some clarification, he called us quickly and stopped by several times during the process of the project to check on the progress and to talk with us. Nester, who was in charge of the masonry work was really excellent in advising us of the best way to design the area, and the completed work was amazing. We have had many compliments on the project by family, friends and neighbors. I would not hesitate to recommnd John Joseph Custom Pools, and his team.

Everything about our experience with John Joseph Pools was extremely professional and competent. From the very start they provided everything they said they would. We never had a problem and all calls were answered quickly and effectively. Our yard and pool are beautiful. We are sooo glad we chose John Joseph Pools.

This was a demolition of an inground pool and fill of the resulting hole. They took care of town permits and did a thorough and tidy 4 day job. Removed everything including bushes extracted to access the pool area. Some nice work in tricky deck removal that involved leaving some in place. Also small equipment was used to bring dirt from the street to help limit ground and driveway damage....

Awesome work, always on time...my backyard looks like a resort thanks to them!!!! They had the "eye" that I did not and that alone was they KEY!!!!

I would recommend John Joseph to anyone. We were confident with our choice from the very beginning. Nestor arrived for our appointment on time without a story, and was very informative. His soft spoken yet knowledgable and confident character spoke volumes to us, as we had heard so many different ideas on how to approach our project. We knew we made the right decision when we chose Nestor for our job. Fom the beginning to the very end, he gave what he promised, answered every question we had, and was available and present during the whole project. I cannot say enough about Nestor and his crew, We are VERY satisfied customers.

Excellent job, best price, reliable, stands behind his work. John was great to work with, finished the project on time as promised. Would recommend for all pool needs.

This was by far the worst experience my wife and I ever had with any contractor. After hiring them, we did not see John again, until our complaints to his office finally got him to come to our home. While repairing a colapsing wall, his workers blocked our back door with dirt and mud, piled 3 - 4 feet high and almost 15 feet long. we had to complain to the home office 3 times over a 2 week period before they finally came to remove the dirt. While the dirt was there, we could not use our back yard. The pool liner has Wrinkles John said "Those are not wrinkles"..... POOR POOR COMMUNICATION and poor company... STAY AWAY !
