This is an update on the work done by Heritage Design Group Inc. The first 2 years after completing the job everything looked great and had no issues. However, I have to add what trespassed after. In 2017, we had Ray come over to give us an estimate on continuing the retaining boulder wall on the property that has nothing to do with the house. At that time I raised my concern about the previous work done because the flower bed build against the house was retaining a lot a moisture. In fact, Ray himself suggested to put in sprinklers for the flower bed. Fast forward to the 2017 estimate, I raised my concerns regarding that flower bed because one can see clearly on the foundation wall green moss was flourishing. Ray said not to worry because this is how work is done and it's no problem. I pressed the issue and asked why didn't he put a moisture barrier against the foundation wall considering that no drainage was put there either? He kind of brushed it off and took the money for the rest of the retaining wall and said goodbye. Now in 2019, we had an engineer over to look at the work because green moss was even more visible as well as the wall looked wet. I dug up about one foot into the ground and the foundation was as wet as it can be which Ray knew it's made out of a very porous material. I emailed Ray about this a few times, his response was" please provide photos beneath the surface of the original grade showing the existence of waterproofing on the foundation wall of each side of the residence". I have no problems on the other 3 sides of the house besides where he build the flower bed. So far nothing was resolved, apparently doing the right thing it's not in his work ethic. Also, going back and looking at the original contract, not only he convinced us to do it his way and make us feel good about his project but also added extra 5k because it wasn't enough for the landscaping. So, with that said to those who want to hire him I would ask him about waterproofing the foundation walls if adding any flowerbeds over 2 feet so you don't have the "little problems" we have. In fact, to fix the little problem we have, the sprinklers and vegetation were removed by us. And, no, I would not hire him because he is not the man to recognize his mistakes and fix them. Still waiting...as of November 2019.

I met Ray for an estimate and noticed he took a lot more time, thought and consideration than other landscapers in the planning of the job. He spent a good deal of time going over different ideas and returned to show me a well thought out design that we would end up going forward with. Ray did the job on time and was here to do the work himself the entire time. There is a degree of pride in his work and it showed. Will use him again.

Let me start by saying that I usually don't write reviews. However, this time I have to because Ray really exceeded our expectations! He transformed our backyard from an unused, ugly and overgrown space to a great area that we can enjoy. Some things that we liked about Ray; he is a person of his word and holds himself and the work he does to the highest possible standard. He listens to your wants and needs but also suggests ideas due to his experience in the field. You may want to listen. We took his advice on some things and we are thrilled with the results. His crew was here on time and did an awesome job! Ray wasn't here every day, and in fact there was no need since the work was going smoothly anyway. However, on the days Ray was here, he always went over the progress or the shortfalls. Now, 6 months later I see the results: the yard and the plants look perfect! And although there is still a little project left off to finish, even though we paid in full, we totally believe and trust that Ray will return to finish the job. In other words, he is a trustworthy guy! To summarize my review: Ray is the guy for YOU due to his reasonable pricing and high quality work. He is a pro in his field!

I was very happy with everything they did. Their prices were fair and the job was completed in a timely fashion. They were very flexible with everything I wanted done.

He has expert mason's who were able to transform our outdated slate walls that were loose and falling apart. They reused the slate that was currently there, brought in some new materials and created beautiful new walls and walkways. People actually stop in front of my yard to stare at the masonry work. The owner was always on the job, he is a very knowledgeable arborist who was able to take all of the overgrown plants that were on the yard, transplant them, so they did not go to waste and he brought in new varietals and colors that just brought everything together, not to mention he was able to rework the sprinklers and add accent lighting as well. We are really pleased with the entire job,

The pond he built is stunning The plants he surrounded the pond with are unbelievable. Looks so natural and like it has been there. The bluestone patio and stairs up in my hills is breathtaking! The landscaping on my entire property is unique, colorful and refreshingly different than the typical landscaping jobs. Everything he has touched on my property has dramatically improved my homes appearence He is very responsible and dedicated to his art! He possesses an awesome sense of design that I trust in. Ray was very professional and seemed to be quite thorough. Unfortunately the estimate was way out of our price range so we will not be able to move forward with this project at this time.

The property looks magazine-cover amazing! He was so well priced I don't know how he made a living! He's the best, no question. We put in 512 plants and ndash; trees, shrubs, flowers and 100 yds of topsoil. He also did all the stone work - paving stones, retaining walls, and he did the most gorgeous stoop out of flagstone and brick face. He did massive masonry work which took many months. He hand rock faced everything with his team. He even matched 50 year old brick! He's incredibly detail oriented and artistic. He took me to the masonry stores and nurseries so that we could work together to get the best possible look. I didn't want the house to scream "just renovated" but to look like a beautiful old, grand home. And he did it! It looks natural and beautiful. He's so very knowledgeable - he got us the best prices for the best products and plants. He got me established, mature trees. He took the work seriously and personally and was a really great guy to work with. You call him, he calls you back - you don't have to wait hours to hear back from him. He took me to his home to show us his own work on his own property. The references he gave me all invited me to their homes because they were so proud of how their property looks! He also has a degree in horticulture, so he's extremely well qualified.
