Description of Work: UnClogU has great basic roto-rooter service, definitely he most economic we've found in our area. We've been using them for the past 4 years, pretty much since we bought our house. | |Our only caveat came when we began to need them on a more regular basis. There was something causing our basement bathroom to back up & water would overflow from the toilet and the shower. Leo mentioned it was likely the pitch in our sewer pipe, which had likely been done wrong when they originally connected the house to the sewer system. He recommended digging up the lawn & redoing the pipes. The pricing he gave seemed a little astronomical, so we decided to get a second opinion. In the meantime, he did snaked the line though he claimed he was not able to clear it so we still had a problem. | |We then called a few other plumbing companies and settled on Aparo. They came in, successfully snaked the drain, fixed the immediate problem, stuck a camera down the pipe and told us just what was wrong. | |If you have a simple back up, or something stuck down the drain UnClogU is definitely a good option. You really can't beat their price ($49.95 vs close to $200 with other companies).

Hello [member name removed] We appreciate the trust you have put into our company over the last 4 years. It has been our pleasure servicing you. I do believe there is some confusion on your part. We did not give you an estimate to excavate and fix the broken pipe. I know this because we do not do that type of work. As a courtesy to our customers we recommend a company that does quality work, but we have no control over the prices they charge. And as a consumer you should always get several estimates from reputable companies so you can make an educated choice as to whom you should hire for the specific task you need performed. As you stated you have used us for 4 years for this ongoing issue and the frequency of your need has increased over the past four years. This is due to the fact that your Main line is broken and the more time that passes makes the problem worse. We told your husband several years ago. Your main waste line was totally charged (backed up with water and sewage) you were unable to use any water when we arrived. Sometimes letting the line sit and not adding more water lets the line slowly seep out and it is easier to clean the line. You indicated the next plumbing company to come snaked the line and cleared the problem. We have been providing you with that service but that does not fix the underlying problem that is causing the back ups. Thank You Pattie and the staff at

Description of Work: The advertising was misleading. I had a clog in kitchen sink and all it was needed is to snake the line. The lady called and the price was not $49.99 as advertised on Angie's List, instead it was $99.99 per clog if it is not a soft clog. I don't know what it means. I should be able to do it myself.

Dear [removed members name] I am sorry you were unable to understand our phone conversation. Our advertisement is not misleading. Any soft stoppage is in fact $49.99. During our phone conversation you stated that your kitchen was new and your new kitchen sink was clogged. I explained to you typically a totally new kitchen with a new kitchen sink does not have the buildup of an older sink which is usually the cause of a clog. Hence a (Soft Stoppage). A new kitchen with a clogged sink could be from a number other factors. You stated in your remark you didn't know what this meant , I explained to you several times what a soft stoppage was.If it was a broken pipe or something had been dropped down the sink the charge would not be $49.99. We are honest and fair with all of our customers. Which is why we are rated "A" with Angie's List. I did explain to you my technician would have to assess the situation upon arrival and inspection of the sink. I also explained to you that the technician would be able to tell you if it was a soft stoppage or a different issue. If it was a soft stoppage you would have been charged $49.99 if it was another problem my technician would have told you the charge prior to commencement of work.
