Greg is awesome. He is tenacious and pays super attention to detail. He takes great pride in his work and it shows. He's a true mason. My project was a special case. We had a lot of masonry issues. With our chimney, once we got into the thick of things, Greg discovered issues with the flashing and roof, and this expanded the scope of the original quote. On realizing how good Greg is, I also added other tasks, such as replacing our flagstone sidewalk-- which wasn't on the original quote. So my final bill was higher that the initial estimate. But a lot of that was my own doing with adding to tasks, and a lot of it was attributable to the unknowns of working on and old house. We still get positive comments 2 years later on the chimney from neighbors and passers by. Since Greg performed the work, there have been no issues, and Greg said that he would come by to address any minor issues that came up. The work turned out more expensive than we had originally thought, but totally worth it and I would do it again. The work took a while to complete as well. We weren't time-pinched, so it didn't matter to me. The quality of the work is well worth the time. So, if you can get on Greg's schedule: Do it.
Description of Work: Greg rebuilt our chimney (which included Flashing, roof work and some structural replacement), resurfaced all of our foundation walls, rebuilt our concrete front steps, and replaced a flagstone sidewalk for us. And probably some other stuff that I've forgotten about.

Greg is meticulous and pays attention to details. This was a large job and took over 4 months. His attention to detail and troubleshooting the numerous problems of the old foundation and water seepage was excellent. He was extremely reliable and pleasant to work with. He is one of the best contractors that I have dealt with in the 30 years of owning and renovating our home
Description of Work: Greg totally reconstructed the basement foundation of the oldest part of the house. The foundation was originally 120 years old and consisted or rocks and earth. He reconstructed a bilko door opening.

See above, would not necessarily utilize as we have gotten better quotes and reassurance from other professionals that we have consulted.
Description of Work: Had an estimate done, originally for chimney/flashing work, but also asked about front steps which have some cracks. Would have preferred for him to go up on roof or at least attic to give us a better sense of chimney work. He went on to bring up concerns about the steps and how the entire area could possibly need to be removed and repoured and that foundation could possibly have issues (which the inspector did not indicate not show any concern about) and indicated that at some point in the future extensive work may need to be done. Felt like there was a great deal of alarm created when no other professionals indicated such work was necessary.

Fairly well. Work was good quality. We have some bricks that are showing water/ice issues now. He says he will look at and repair. Issue, if there is one is that initial bid did not cover all hours required. Some of this was due to job expanding due to conditions found when working. Additional work was by the hour and the repairs took a while.
Description of Work: Repaired/replaced bricks on Garage. Resolved water in garage issue.

Initially this looked like a smaller job. Most of the damage was hidden under siding. When the damage was found Greg offered a good method of fixing and did an excellent job. This included finding and resolving a drainage issue that was the main cause of the damage to the brick work.
Description of Work: Repaired 100-year-old brickwork on garage and added drainage to prevent future damage.
