Description of Work: Jason worked on my home office Dell laptop, resolving complicated and perplexing problems between the hardware and software (Vista) problems.

Description of Work: I used Jason once before to set up a router and fix one computer that was not connecting with its wifi. This he did okay I believe although later the computer again stopped connecting with wifi and lost its security. I don't know if that is the fault of the repair person or just bad luck. Probably just bad luck. After this I had given him an old dead computer to extract one file of data from its hard drive. He could not extract data which was okay with me but he only finally brought the computer back to me many months later when I again called him to come install new computer and router. The computer was in many pieces when he brought it back and in a crummy unprotective old plastic shopping bag. I knew things could be gotten out of its hard drive as they had been previously and he should not have agreed to do what he could not but expecially he should not return computer broken into bits and subject to god knows what horrible conditions. He did not even give it to me. He just left it in a corner of my room where I found it later. Now I have to hire someone to put it back together before I go to an expert on data retrieval. There is something tragic about the sight of a computer in dozens of sad little bits in a dirty old plastic bad. This time he was transferring material from old computers to new. He mostly did this okay and in a pretty organized fashion. But the driver he installed on my printer to run the new windows office doesn't work and just prints gibberish for the Word program on new office documents. He had not tested for a new document made with windows 7, only for transfered old documents made with xp pro, even though he knew he was not using the right driver for the printer model (there is no driver listed on HP for Windows 7 for my hp laserjet 1100 so he made do with one for another model) and so did not persevere to find the right thing. He should have taken the time to call HP and Microsoft and found out the right way to do things or at least tried the printer disc I offered him. Instead he winged it and now I have to find a new person to fix things.

Description of Work: Jason Luft responded promptly and completed the job efficiently at a fair rate. He installed a new laptop computer. He also erased hard drives on old computers so that I could recycle them safely. Subsequent to completing the work I emailed him twice with a new printer problem and he solved it quickly via email--and without a charge.

Description of Work: We contacted Techease to set up our internet service. We had an old dial-up system and had received a do it yourself hook-up kit from Verizon for a DSL line. However, the parts we received did not correspond to the manual. Techease hooked up the DSL line for us.

Description of Work: I brought my computer to have them look at it. They looked at the computer, but were unable to fix it. I had to buy a new computer.

Description of Work: Wireless and networking of home computers

Description of Work: We kept getting error messages on our computer that we were low on space on our hard drive. We deleted a number of programs and files but continued getting this error message. Our computer is over 5 years old and I was concerned that this was going to mean that it was time to purchase a new computer.

Description of Work: My computer was running slow and I was getting pop-ups saying I had illegal windows, which I didn't. Techease Consulting cured all of those problems, go the PC to run faster and cleaned up my disk.

Description of Work: Completely dead computer.

Description of Work: A system file was corrupted and needed repair and was causing my computer to crash before it finished booting up. The attached keyboard and mouse wouldn't work so I couldn't start it in safe mode to work around the problem.

Description of Work: Jason was able to immediately identify the problem my laptop computer had; it was infected with a Trojan virus. He downloaded the necessary applications needed to remove the virus and restore my Windows operating system.

Description of Work: I contacted Jason regarding a computer repair issue.

Description of Work: Thought I had a virus but Jason checked everything twice and found that someonehad hacked into my email account. Cleaned up computer and reactivated anti-virus. Upgraded to office 2010.

Description of Work: TechEase Consulting came to my house and worked on my computer.

Description of Work: My desktop PC was walloped by a virus. I tried everything I could before calling in a professional. He restored my PC so that it worked just like it did before (only better).

Description of Work: We recently changed our email host and there was a problem with the settings. We had also had another consultant who didn't really know what he was doing so Jason checked all the settings and explained why some features/software are better than others. He made sure that the settings were correct and deinstalled what wasn't necessary. He installed anti-virus software and made excellent recommendations about backup solutions with an understanding that cost was a consideration.

Description of Work: One computer had crashed and information recovery was needed. Additionally, a wireless network setup, Roku was set up, a dvd player was set up.

Description of Work: Jason did a complete scan of my computer for viruses, adware, etc. Then after he cleaned the system he removed, at my request, any unnecessary software on the hard drive and added a virus protection program that he thought was the best for my computer.

Description of Work: My computer had as virvus which needed to be removed. The technician was able to repair within 75 minutes. The tech was late to the appointment, but he did call and arrived about 45 minutes later.

Description of Work: Long story short, my wife's PC crashed. It would not start, and I couldn't get to even the DOS screen of start options -- nothing. Of course, a nearly complete book that she was writing was on that very system. Did we have any digital copies of that BOOK -- no. Any paper copies -- nope. We were in a "hurt." But we did have Angie's List. We quickly found Jason, called him and he came over quickly.

Description of Work: I called and asked for help with my laptop. He didn't do a lot of work on laptops and was kind enough to refer me to someone who would help and gave me permission to use his name to get top-notch service.

Description of Work: He installed a new router, set up our wireless printer and bebugged on of the computors.

Description of Work: My computer was having several problems, the main one being frequent trouble connecting to the internet. Jason took care of each of the problems, plus doing some basic 'housekeeping' chores on the computer.
