The tree stump wasn't removed, just leveled. The ivy was only partially removed and the extra grass care for the front lawn that was offered verbally was never done. But, the worst of it all is that the expensive trees that were transplanted ended up dying shortly thereafter because the topsoil was layered too high up at the base of the trees (this was just determined this year when another landscaper evaluated the trees' demise). The owner was nice enough to deal with and very responsive, but the results were disappointing.

Easy to contact and get the job done quickly. He managed to squeeze me into his tight schedule.

They showed up when they said, completed the work and are now doing the weekly cutting. My Aunt is very happy and the lawn looks better than it has in quite a while! I would definitely recommend !

It went fine. They were courteous, prompt and the price was reasonable for what they did. I would recommend them.

Mr. Madrid and his team came to my house with 2 trucks ready to perform the aeration. He let me know that my property would need a Spring clean-up before he could do the work, as the seeding wouldn't work effectively. I assumed this was going to be the case since I fired my last landscaper over the winter. Mr. Madrid and his team performed the clean-up, which included power raking, lime application, fertilizer, and peat moss. They charged a very fair price ($150), which was way less than I was paying for 1/2 the service from my former landscaper. He explained to me, in detail, the process to get my lawn back to perfect health. I decided to hire Madrid Landscaping for weekly maintenance as well and I do not regret this decision. My property has been well maintained and manicured since. In addition, his team went above and beyond by helping me put my old, dismantled shed out to the curb for pick-up. I highly recommend Madrid Landscaping.

It is now Friday ,, May 2nd and I have heard absolutely nothing. I am a new member to Angie's List and this was the first company I have called to use the site. I'm not shocked by the lack of response as I see this has happened to a few others as well. I'll just move on to the next company but if a company cannot show up to give an estimate who who is to say they will show up once hired? Live and Learn.

The workers did a wonderful job cleaning up and making yard a lot more presentable that it was beforehand. (wish i had a before/after picture). They also fixed holes in lawn, created by tree service, as branches fell down. This entailed putting down topsoil and additional seeding at no additional cost. Will definitely be using for my fall clean-up. Owner is available all sorts of ways and gets back to you in less than 24hrs. (landline phone/cell phone (texting)/and e-mail)

He asked me to text him my address as he did not have pencil and paper. He said he would come to my home Wednesday night on March 26. He never showed. I personally feel he did not want to travel from Uniondale. If that is the case he should not advertise a willingness to work in western Suffolk. I am disappointed after reading all the great reviews.

My wife and I had just purchased our home, but weren't ready to move in right away. We were moving in from out-of-state and were back and forth quite a bit, juggling family and jobs. Managing the lawn care was not something we were able to do during this time, and did not want it getting neglected. After contacting several others, Madrid Landscaping was very quick to respond, personable and professional. The price was fair and consistent with what we had seen elsewhere. Overall, the quality of service has been excellent, and the condition of our lawn was one less thing we had to worry about throughout our transition. I would certainly recommend Madrid Landscaping to anyone new to the West Hempstead and surrounding area.

Madrid landscaping did a wonderful job in my back yard......they were professional, neat, and did the little things that make a difference.......when there was a small change to the original plan, they accommodated me with a smile.....they have a great crew, and work very well as a team......they built a beautiful patio with pavers, stone walls, light piers, and a fire pit......they offered their opinions, and did extra work after explaining how it makes the job look even better.....they were right.....very easy to work with.... Terrific service! Our once brown, crabgrass riddled lawns (front and back) are now lush and green - it's amazing how fast new seed can grow when it is done right! After moving into a new home my husband and I tired everything to fix up the lawn, but in the end we wasted a lot of money on things that didn't work. We simply couldn't keep up with all of the work, so it became a mess. We actually had a neighbor bring us a lawnmower once - thats when you know you are "that guy on the block". We searched Angies list and Madrid had such amazing reviews and the price was right so we knew we couldn't go wrong. Call them - you won't regret it!

It went very well. They came & just started off with the work. Honest guys to deal with. Gives you the suggestions to make your yard look good.

The guy who came to my house was very polite and informative. He knew what he was doing and he answered all 100 of my questions patiently. The bid was simple, straightforward and reasonable. Since then they've been doing all my lawn work and I haven't even seen them! I just come home and everything is done right. It seems rare that someone just does what they are supposed to without any hassle.

I am updating my review, since the first time Mr. Madrid came and did the clean up for 250.00, and said every week on Tuesday or once a week will come by to maintain it for 25 dollars a week. NO SHOW.... after the clean up he did not come, none of his men came. I text him and he said his brother should have came. NOPE... My lawn has not been maintained or cut since the clean on 7/16/2013, Mr. Madrid did not even bother to call or text me to tell me someone will not come. So NO COMMUNICATION, he took the 250 for clean up and lied to us for coming every week. I wish I can submit the text messages as pictures here. But I believe I was lied to.

So far, I am extremely pleased with them. They are prompt, courteous, professional and honest!

I like that he is straightforward in dealing with. He honored his pricing and discounts. His people show up and they listen to what you ask and are willing to change some of the things that they're doing. All in all, I'm very happy with them. I found them to be less costly than past services. I have nothing at all to complain about.

Our property was badly in need of a cleanup following last fall's hurricane. We contacted Madrid Landscaping based on the positive reviews on Angie's List. Adelmo responded to my inquiry via email promptly and we set up an appointment for him to view the property. He arrived on time, gave us a written estimate for the job as well as a cost for ongoing maintenance. Of the $500 quote it should be noted that nearly half represented the cost of the mulch, which had to replaced in the front yard. Adelmo and his crew did an AMAZING job - the property has never looked so beautiful. We now have his crew come by once a week for a quick leaf-blowing and touch up. I recommend Adelmo highly for his professionalism, courtesy and the wonderful work he does.

I contacted Madrid Landscaping for an estimate to revive my front lawn and back yard, after a harsh winter and previous storms, as well as for general spring cleaning and tree pruning. I spoke with Adelmo Madrid and he made time to visit and inspect what needed to be done. He provided a reasonable game plan and cost for the initial spring cleaning and lawn upkeep. After 'shopping around', I found Madrid to be the most realistic and confident with their approach to restore my lawn. Once I gave Madrid the green light to proceed, they arrived at the house on time and really got to work. A crew of about 5 arrived and worked almost 3.5hrs straight. They did a fantastic job pruning trees, laying mulch, seeding, laying peet-moss, removing vines, and prepping the lawn. They took care to re-seed using regular grass seeds and shaded area grass seeds where appropriate. I have since been using Madrid for regular lawn maintenance and have been really impressed with how quick they revived the lawn and keep the landscape looking great. It should be noted that the initial condition of the lawn was not in total disrepair. There were, however, a lot of areas with grab grass, dead grass, and bare dirt. The soil was also very dry and I attribute that to my lack of proper watering. Madrid also took the time to explain how I should water since I do not have an lawn sprinkler system. I definitely recommend Madrid Landscaping and plan to continue using them.

What an incredible job they did!!! My yard never looked this beautiful. I now have them come on a weekly basis to maintain the lawn. They have since spread mulch on all my gardens. Gorgeous! They will be trimming my bushes and trees next week. I highly recommend Madrid!

The work was not performed
