C & J Custom Builders built a beautiful addition on our home and remodeled the existing structure. We were very happy with the quality of their work and the professionalism they exhibited throughout the entire process - from bid to move-in. Jerry, Matt, Craig and team did an amazing job on our covered deck project!!! From the beginning, they were communicative, responsive, and professional, which made me feel confident that they would be easy to work with. Once the project was started, we had a few unexpected snow storms with some pretty frigid days. Nevertheless, the crew still showed up promptly each day, working diligently in the cold weather for the full day, which goes to show you how hard-working and dedicated these guys were! They were also very detail-oriented and gave good design suggestions to help improve the overall look of the deck. In the end, we were thrilled with how everything turned out! The quality and craftsmanship are reflected in the final product, and we could not be happier. We are so glad we chose C&J Custom Builders for this project!

Went very well. Completed the job on time. Cleaned up everyday after working. I added a couple of changes after the demolition and they were very accommodating to the changes I requested. Excellent work. Very professional and friendly.

Jerry and his team did a fabulous job on our basement egress window. Fantastic communication, before during and after the job. Excellent workmanship. Cleaned up very well after the big job. Flexibly worked with our schedule. Jerry even gave me advice on laying out our basement remodel (we are doing it ourselves) and gave me advice on materials and design. Totally happy. The team at C & J builders renovated our kitchen. They took a drab and outdated space and turned it into an open inviting kitchen filled with light. From our first meeting to our last, everyone on the team was very professional. We worked closely with Matt on several architectural elements of our project which included building a custom mantel and custom picture frame wainscoting in our foyer and dining room - he was very receptive to hearing our ideas and the end results exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful experience working with this team, they worked hard everyday, paying attention to all the little details, working closely with our designer to give us a space that we love. We recommend them without any reservations, they are a fantastic group to work with!

C&J did an incredible job completely gutting and remodeling our 1895 farmhouse. This was a huge 8-month job with the variety of complications and required changes an old house can throw at you; throughout the process Craig and Jerry offered excellent design suggestions, collaborated very well with our architects, worked diligently to stay on budget, and each day demonstrated craftsmanship and professionalism of the highest level. C&J’s team of subcontractors and designers are excellent too. These people are the best the building trade has to offer: conscientious, skilled, creative, and a pleasure to work with. They patiently collaborated with us to create nothing less than a world class, contemporary bathroom. No "nickel and diming". True professionals. Our remodel project was substantial and took nearly five months. Craig and Jerry and their team really delivered and we are thrilled with the result! They are professional, conscientious and a pleasure to work with. Craig is a highly skilled carpenter and meticulous craftsman with an innate sense of style. He is also an astute problem-solver with a "can-do" attitude. Jerry made sure the project stayed on track and that every detail was perfect.

Craig, Jerry, Matt, Lou and Mike did an AMAZING job! Jerry helped us with the design, and we also hired an architect. Jerry sat down with us multiple times to explain the process and make sure the design plans were correct. The price he quoted us was accurate and we were only over budget by a little bit, but that was due to some of our selections. Craig and Matt were over almost every day. I was amazed at how quickly they were able to get the basement framed and sheet rocked. We had very intricate moldings and arches and Craig's attention to detail is impressive. I've received many compliments on the work. They gave me great advice about my flooring and cabinet selections. They also let me purchase materials from wherever I wanted, which helped keep the price in check. They take a great deal of pride in their work and always made sure I was happy with how it looked. I could not have asked for a better experience. They also finished on time. It only took 3 months. Photos can be seen on their website or their Facebook page. After having custom built my house, I wish we used C&J! I highly recommend them!

Jerry Saliba and his crew at C&J did an excellent job of building a 350 SF deck using Trex decking, railing, and fascia. Jerry was very professional, providing numerous suggestions to improve the overall design. He received accolades from the local building inspector for the quality of his work. He was very timely in providing an estimate, ordering material, and completing the work on the deck. He also coordinated with a concrete company to pour a 635 SF concrete pad surrounding the deck and supporting the deck stairs. When the original concrete contractor bailed without warning, Jerry worked very hard to find a replacement that met the original timeline and estimated cost. We were very, very pleased with the deck and pad. C&J provided an excellent product at a reasonable price. We would certainly use C&J and Jerry Saliba again.

We were very happy with our choice of C&J Custom Builders. They came to us as a recommendation from the neighborhood for the same basement finishing. They were probably a bit more expensive on average but not when compared to the major custom builders in the Albany area - then they were on par but this was an expensive job so I rated that a B. Jerry was very straightforward and professional about breaking out costs and discussing how the changes we made would impact the budget. Cost aside, the quality of the job was very high with special attention in areas that may have otherwise gone unnoticed by us. Example, the flooring (tile) needed leveling or dry-wall angled (instead of straight corner) to make the room/hallway larger feeling. The job took longer than expected due to some of the flooring issues but team was always respectful, professional and a pleasure to have around while I both worked from my home and had the nanny here watching the baby. They were not intrusive and were always nice to chat with. Finally, Craig was never hesitant to suggest tweaks to design or layout within a room to maximize functionality or looks. He would do what we wanted but was on the look-out to make the project as detailed and high quality as possible. We would hire them for any future job and hope to do so in a few years.

We met with a number of contractors and their vision for the room fit perfectly with what we wanted and then some. Throughout the process we were updated along the way. This was our first renovation. No disruptions. At the end of the day everything was cleaned up. Looked at other problem areas of the house and made suggestions. They weren't satisfied until we were. Would recommend them highly! And they just replaced our front entry door. Great job.

Craig and Jerry are the absolute best guys. From the first day of meeting and getting an estimate them they were great. We interviewed three different contractors and even though they were not the least expensive, we just new they would be great to work with, When you have someone that will be in your house every day for several months on a big project..you want to make sure you can stand having them there. Very personable, honest and straightforward. No salesman pitches and no empty promises. They have great creative ideas during the process too. They recreated and updated our entire first floor. They were there when they said they would be, and cleaned up every day before they left. We had a major setback with our kitchen supplier, but they kept doing everything they could to keep the project moving..they didn't disappear from the project and they made us feel like our job was their most important..even when we knew they had other work too. :) Their attention to detail and making sure the job was done right was what was really important to us. They did not cut corners or skimp on materials. They involved us and didnt' make any changes or adjustments with out talking with us first. So there wasn't any surprise bill at the end with work we didn't know was done. We are now using them again on our outside deck this summer. They will be our contractors for all future projects. Our kids liked them so much they were sad to see them go..and would bake them goodies too. I would and have recommended them to my friends and family.

Both Craig and Jerry were great to deal with. They worked very well with my architect and kitchen designer and were responsive during the whole renovation process -- even after they were paid and had started other jobs. I have used other custom builders in the Capital Region in years past, but I have never encountered a company which combines craftsmanship and customer service as well as C&J. Their pricing is competitive, but more importantly, their attention to detail is exceptional. I plan on requesting their services when I renovate my master bath in the near future.

C&J worked with me through the proposed design and construction and explained all the steps and material selection for the project. They were very professional and diligent in all phases of the project. They completed the work as promised and I was very pleased with the end product, a finished basement with a custom bar and full featured entertainment system. I made one design change in the course of the project and they worked with me to accommodate the change with no additional cost. I would highly recommend C & J.

Craig and Jerry of C & J Custom Remodeling are two of the most reliable and friendly contractors we've ever worked with. Throughout our experience with them they've always been on time, showed up when they said they would, returned phone calls promptly, and best of all, completed their work with high quality and cleanliness. When moving materials in and out of the house for our projects they always put down extensive floor coverings to protect the flooring and carpets, and did an excellent job of cleaning up after the projects were done. The basement portion of the project involved adding several walls and a good bit of electrical work, all of which was of very high quality. We were even comfortable enough with them to give them an alarm code and have them working in the house while we were out of town for a portion of the project duration, and when we came back to wrap things up we had no problems or complaints. We'll definitely use C & J again and highly recommend their work.
