+ -1 morewell, initially when I went there to inquire about having windows installed in my condo I was never told they would take 7 weeks to make, didn't find that out til they actually came to my home and had my wife sign the contract for services. I waited it out, never hearing a word, finally I called them at that 7 week period and was promptly told your windows are in! Had they just arrived prior to my call or did someone forget to notify me? the crew came as promised, 3 guys, who I was very cordial to and they to me, leaving them at the end of the job a gratuity for all. I asked they not damage my plants outside my windows area which they only managed to crush one. I spoke to who believe was the main crew member about getting a new sliding glass door next. he convinced me that if the current one works ok, he could fix it up from the outside to look new on a private deal between him and I for $70, and would come back later and do the job. he did, but did not fully complete the job as he needed some special outside finish to put on, said he'd be back within the next 2 days. I mistakenly paid him the agreed upon amount, my mistake, never saw him again. I waited a week, called his cell phone a couple of times leaving messages, nothing. I went to the store and complained , telling the manager about the "private" deal that was not fulfilled, and he mostly listened, threw in a couple of i'm sorries, going as far as saying he would terminate the employee which was in no way my intention. lesson learned. won't be contacting any longer or paying in full prior to a job completion. in addition, a few days after my visit, I tried to open and close my living room blinds which I hadn't done since they'd put them back up at the end of the job. they no longer work, I had my handyman come look at them and he cannot do nothing to fix them, they somehow were damaged, worked fine previously. now I need a new set of blinds for the living room. thanks guys. so the "approx. cost of service" listed does not include the unfinished private job, or the cost of the new blinds I need to order and have installed by home depot

+ -1 moreI did not like them at all. When they came to my house the guys had their shirts off I sent them to put their shirts on and they did not respect that. They were weird. They covered up and put the doors in sloppy. They were not professional at all. The pricing was fair. I signed a contract with them and they did the siding, after they did the siding they wanted to charge me extra for the vapor. I said did that not come with the siding. That was a part of the contract. The pricing was worth they did a lot. They were there quick.

+ 0 moreI was referred to this company by a friend that also used them. I called for a quote and they came 2 days later on time. I have a 80's built house with vinyl windows that have seal failure and vinyl siding that I really didnt like the color of. they recommended putting in Alside windows and siding and thats what they quoted. I fell in love with their Juniper Ridge shake on the front and regular siding on the rest of the house and new windows with grids in the glass which I originally didnt have. thy came, put in the windows, cleaned upw ell. the siding guys came a few days later and spent almost a week removing the old and installing the new siding. my house looks so beautiful now and its the envy of the neighborhood. so far so good and the cold nights we have been having lately are night and day compared to the windows that the builder put in my house.

+ -1 moreI called them and another company for a roof estimate. they showed up and gave me a price, they did recommend I do my entire roof because the whole roof does need to be replaced. I cannot afford the whole thing right now and a part of it was leaking. they priced me 1,100 to do the roof. 3 weeks later I get a call to schedule it for the following week. they come, do the roof and it rains the very next day, no leak. I was so relieved my issue was taken care of. a few months go by and I figure our my bathtub has been leaking for a long time into my wall and the wall is rotted, I call eastsiders for a bathroom estimate and see if they offer financing. they gave me an estimate, this time I wanted the entire bathroom done it was all original and I was embarrassed by it when people visited me. I got a price of $9,800 to re do the entire bathroom and I chose to finance it over 4 years. They got started a short while later and re did the bathroom, everythign, toilet, tile, floor, tub, (bad plumbing) new vanity and sink. my bathroom is now the nicest part of my house and I love when people visit and ask to use the bathroom. they did a very good job

My father-in-law said that I should only call 3 but the estimates are free so I called 5. 1 never showed, 4 others did. they all seemed okay, 2 wanted 50% down on the project (WHAT?) and the other 2 were reasonable with their payment terms. I ended up going with eastsiders because they have a showroom and I could see the stuff they were going to put on my house before hand. Im glad they do because the color sdiing i thought i wanted was too light and because i could see it i picked a darker color. they scheduled the work, starting with the roof 3 weeks after. the roof was done in 1 day and they did a good job. they cleaned everything well. the windows were put in the next week by 2 guys, i was shocked i thought they were going to send more people but these 2 guys were really good, they put in all of the windows in 1 1/2 days and were very nice. day 2 of the window install the siding was also started, they removed all of the old wood shake off of my house and put it in their truck, it was gone. looked like such a huge mess but it was all gone straight away. it took them 4 days to do the siding on my hosue and my neighbors are jealous. i had one problem, the shed in my yard that i wanted to match the house was rotten and they had to change some wood on it. 8 months after they finished everything I got a call from them that they also do bathroom and kitchens. my kitchen is nice and i dont do much cooking but my bathroom needed to be looked at. they came back and gave me a price. i have no idea what bathrooms cost. they told me $9,100 i called another company nda and they quoted $18,500 for a bathroom. a bathroom. i have a regular house not a mansion. I called another company and they didnt show up i dont know why companies do that. i ended up going with eastsiders. they started i think the very next week. it took 1 1/2 weeks to do and they had really good ideas i like so much, they did a new tub, tile, new radiant floor, nice cabinets with granite and a really nice toilet. im very happy wih them and they did a good job.

+ 0 moreIt started off on the wrong foot from the start. The first awning was not centered correctly. With correction by ME, they remeasured and placed the brackets correctly. When they proceded to mount the awning, the ladder,which was rickety, collapsed under the weight and they dropped the awning to the brick patio and ripped it.Also, they realized that the motor was ordered, by the owner, on the wrong side of the awning.Eastsiders offered to replace the fabric themselves and change over the motor in their Seldon site, but we expressed our lack of confidence in them. We argued with eastsiders to send the dropped awning back to the manufacturer to be inspected, in order to be certain no damage had occurred to the frame and motor from the fall. After much discussion,we had to contact the manufacturer,ourselves, and they assisted us to have the fabric replaced, motor and frame inspected and tested and have the motor changed to the correct side at the factory. To that I am eternally thankful!!! When the repaired awning was delivered, we had to argue once again to have the mounting corrected because it was denting the molding under the brackets. It took an hour of arguing before they listened to us and did the additional worknecessary to correct the problem. The awnings look wonderful, but I don't ever want to go through this experience again.Clearly, the installers did not have the knowledge and safe equipment to do the job correctly. Because of their shotty equipment, the installer fell with the awning and fractured his hand, requiring a visit to the ER. Needless to say, this was my call to subscribe to Angieand quot;s list. I need additional awnings in the future, and rest assured I will never use them again!

+ 1 moreIt took Eastsiders from October 20, 2012 till present and the job still not finished. I have complained to NIck the owner and his RUDE son about the issues. From March till May they said they will come out and complete the work, they send out crews three times. The first time it was to get the materials list they were going to need. They did not show up for 6 weeks. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they came out and finished the colums in the front. I called 2 weeks later and spoke to Nick again and he claimed he has to use his brothers crew and he will have them come to finish with in tow weeks. The crew cme and replaced the siding on the right side of the house partially there is still one piece of siding with a hole in it and the left the power company meeting loose from the wall. Power authority (LIPA) has been by and they stated that Eastsiders must secure the meeter to the wall. Since June 20, 2013 I have not heard from Eastsiders and there is still work such as the front door kick place, front of the house suffit partilly not done, front bay window glass, kitchen sliding door glass and siding on the right side of house not replaced as they were paid for. I was forced to hire a lawyer which is now taking this matter to court in our behave. Please DO NOT USE EASTSIDERS FOR ANY REASON, it will cost you money and lots of problems. They paint a good picture when the sales man Tony which he claims is an owner comes to your house but they never complete the work.
Description of Work: Eastsiders was supposed to replace damaged siding on the back and right side of the house, remove and replace 2, 18 foot colums in front of the house, remove and replace suffict in front of the house, cover up wall unit A/C hole, Remove and replace front door kick plate, remove and replace sliding door in rear of house and remove and replace failed glass on front bay window and sliding door in the kitchen.

They claim to install doors which they charge extra, fine. they put the doors in horrible. when they installed my storm doors they put the locks upside down drilling holes all over. One of the workers showed up at my house with no shirt on , wheres the profesionalism. If i can do it all over i would not choose them.

Description of Work: We previously had Eastsiders put in a front door. We had dealt with Tony, who was one of the owners. We also asked Eastsiders a quote on windows and siding. We decided we liked the Tri-State triple pain windows for our side and rear windows. We told East siders we would let them quote on our front windows and our siding. Tony gave me a quote on the windows which was fairly high. Home Depot was running a sale on A-Series windows which I wanted for the front of the house and Eastsiders could not match or beat the price. Tony agreed to install the windows if we bought them from home depot. He quoted $1,200.00 to install four windows. I agreed. I told him I would give him a shot at the siding again but I wanted to wait for all the windows to be installed until I did the siding. The windows came in and I called Joe in the office to set the installation date. The day before the installation I called Joe at Eastsiders to confirm the installation. He told me the installation was cancelled, because they were behind on other jobs. He said he had left a messsage on my phone a few hours before. I told him I was annoyed beacuse i would not have found out about the cancellaton until i got home that evening and I already had taken the day off. Joe said basically that it was too bad but there was nothing he could do. They simply could not do the installation. I also told him they should have called my cell number which Tony had. I called Tony and complained and he was very sympathetic. So I thought I would give them a second chance. I called back to reschecule and Joe was unbelievablly rude. I told Joe that I didn't think it was right to cancel my appointment and his rudeness was throwing 'salt on the wound', and he was at risk of losing the installation job but also the siding job. He told me that I had "dangled" the siding job in front of him for months. At that point I called him an idiot for that comment since I made it very clear that I was waiting for the windows to be installed to do the siding and he had delayed it by canceling the installation. He conitnued to be rude and crude, and at that point I told him I would find someone else to install the windows and he had now also lost the siding job. Horrible experience. I called back Tony and told him why i was canceling. He apologized and said he didn't blame me and he would do the same. It seems to me Tony isn't that much involved in the business anymore and this is another case of the younger generation (Joe) coming into the business only to screw it up.

+ -1 moreThe quote was prompt and accurate. As this work was to be done in a condominium, proof of license and insurance was required, which we received right away. It took about 3 weeks for the windows to come in, and then another week to schedule. We were originally surprised that only one worker was sent to replace all 10 windows in our condominium, but we were very impressed by the person who did the job. He was extremely professional, neat and worked non stop. We are very satisfied with the end product.
Description of Work: Replacement windows installed, all 10 double hung, triple pane Pella windows in a towhouse condominium unit. This involved removal of existing windows, installation of the new windows, and new aluminum flasing around the exterior of the windows.

+ -1 moreAfter a horrible experience trying to buy a door at Home Depot, I went on angies list to look up a quality company to buy it from. I knew I wanted a Tru-Guard door. We had done the research and liked the look and the energy rating. We initially looked in Home Depot. They were horrible. The initial estimate nearly doubled when they came to measure, most of the cost were wrong and unnecessary. I then went to Windowrama. They had the product but were pricey. My next stop was Eastsiders which was right across the road from Windowrama on Middle Country Road. Tony, one of the owners came to the house for the sales call. Very nice professional person. it is a family run business so they care a more than most places about their image. Tony gave me a price that I was very happy with. They sent someone to measure and told me it would take about 4 weeks for the door to come in. It came in much quicker in two weeks. The installaion went very smooth and I really liked it. I would use them again. Product was good. Installation good. Price good. Much better than dealing with the nonesense at the bigger places. I am getting other estimates from them for siding. They always get back to you in a reasonable amount of time. Very good communication.
Description of Work: Replacement of my double wooden front doors with a Tru-Guard door with sidelights. We had researched the door we wanted and was looking for someone to buy it from and install it.

The crew came on the day scheduled, did the work efficiently and well. The workers were personable and professional. A problem developed with our electrical service and the foreman, with his family in the car, stopped by to help resolve it. The house is beautiful! I would highly recommend this company. It is local, stands by its work.

+ -1 moreThe company took a few days to call me back and the price was a bit more than I wanted to spend for about 30 minutes worth of work. These are my only issues. Once they arrived, they quickly completed the work and did a good job overall. The person that did the work was very polite. I really have no significant compliants, and was happy to at least find someone willing to do such a small job. I would have done it myself but I did not have a ladder that let me reach high enough on the house to repair the siding myself.
Description of Work: The company re-installed a few pieces of siding that fell off the house due to high winds and also secured some siding that was coming off due to pests.

The problem occurred when installing roof vents; they cut holes for vents w/a rough cutting tool which left me with wood splints down center of attic. In addition, they did not perform thorough clean-up. I am still finding roofing tile in my gardens.

+ 0 moreterrible. It didnt take them long to show up for an estimate but than insisted on meeting with my wife so he could sell me a new $5k roof. I declined numerous times and decided to use them for the repair anyway. Well i left a deposit and was told someone would be calling to schedule the repair. Over 2 weeks later I saw my cc hadn't been charged yet so I called up and cancelled all together. Than my cc gets charged and I had to fight them to get my deposit back after they refused to shedule the work. Would never use them again

The scheduled job date got pushed back a couple of weeks because they did not return my call after I left a message. They promptly came out on the day of the work and finished in a reasonable time. The work took about 6 hours.
Description of Work: Replaced existing casement window on 1st floor with an egress casement window. Put in new indoor window frame. Patched up the drywall. Used aluminum framing for outdoor - matched original stucco color very well.

They were here by 7.15 am in the morning and worked till 5 pm. A crew of 3 to 5 people had installed top-of-the-line siding after completely replacing all the windows.
