All my many experiences with Universe have been excellent: They are quick to come when I have a problem, even on a weekend. They seem to properly staffed to meet the needs of their customers. Their service personnel are polite, knowledgeable and specialize in the particular area they are involved with. They don't make work. If it's a simple repair, that's what they will do. They goal seems to be building a long-term relationship as opposed to getting what they can from a one-shot deal. Their prices are reasonable. They are a family business that's been around on Long Island for many years.

All of the repairs were done expertly and at a fair price, and the repairmen were always punctual. Even more telling, they declined to repair a dishwasher that they felt was beyond repair, when they could have charged an arm and a leg to perform a repair that would have been temporary at best. On another occasion, when I described a problem I was having with an appliance, they told me that they'd hate to charge me for a service call when the problem was something I could fix myself both easily and cheaply. They said that if I came into the shop they'd sell me the part for $3.00 and explain what I needed to do. I bought the part from them, followed their directions, and repaired the appliance myself. I should add here that, as a woman, I've more than once had repair shops treat me as if I were some kind of idiot. It was very refreshing to have Universe actually suggest that I do the repair myself. I will happily continue using them in the future.

The staff at Universe Appliance Repairs is great. I would say more than great. The owner is more intrested in keeping the customer happy than making money. They came to my house and gave me a quote that covered the whole job. I was given few dates for the conversion and they were right on money. My oil tank was leaking and I had to get the conversion done ASAP. Universe came through. I dealt with Cathy in the office. She is very knowlegable and professional. She actually corrected a very important error that could have derailed the schedule. The technical staff is very knowlegable and pleasent. Ed, Erick, Victor, Dan, Paul, Damon and many others (I apologize I am forgetting some names) were great. They did a clean Job. There was a issue with installing a stainless chimney liner in the chimney and Bill Powell the owner took upon himself and took care of it. Sales person told me I didn't need the stainless chimney liner for sure and it turned out that it was a requirement. As I said before the ower is more intrested in keeping the clients. I would strongly recomend Universe. If you want to get a job done right and not lose sleep over it then Universe is the right place. All in all great service.

The job went well. The service was good. It cost me $8500 to get the job done. They were on time. The work was kind of urgent and they did the job. I didn?t have any complaints. It took them three days to do the work. The supervisor was not very great, but the technician was good. He knew what he was doing. They were expensive but I will use them again in the future.

They were very nice and professional. They followed up with me, which I appreciated. If I ever decide to convert from oil to gas, I would call them.

Came promptly to evaluate the problem. Determined the module that operates the stove needed to be replaced. Gave me a price. I agreed and the part needed to be ordered. It came in in about a week and they then came back and installed it. If the part was in stock, it would have been much quicker, but otherwise the job was done timely. They also did not pressure us to repair the appliance (vs replace it).

The serviceman arrived in the window of time he gave us. He went quickly to work fixing the freezer. He said he hadn't received a message that the water dispenser was not working but that he would look at it and he did and he put in a new circuit board and fixed that also. I mentioned that the ice cube dispenser hadn't really worked correctly since we bought the refrig and he said it was a common complaint that you got crushed ice instead of cubes. He gave us some tips on how to make it better and said he would note on the receipt that we might need another part at a later date to fix it better but that we would not be charged for the additional service charge if they returned. We plan to call them back in the near future to correct the problem. Would never buy another GE product again -- will stick with Whirlpool.

Universe Appliance Repair is a very unique company. Although I had a problem with the initial call for service, the operations manager Frank called me the following week to discuss the issue. In addition to being very apologetic, he assured me he would address it with his staff and said it would never happen again. Not only did he apologize, but he also refunded the charge for the service call as a good faith jesture. I was extremely impressd by his desire to make this right. This kind of professionalism and dedication to maintaining such high standards is very rare in the service industry. As a result I would not hesitate to call them for service in the future. This is truely a first class company.

Their service was great, on the spot quotes and accurate repair times were great. I would never buy a GE fridge again based on their knowledge of how often they fail but in the mean while i will continue to call them for repairs should this one fail again.

Universe came in and essentially completed the work in one day. They brought a full crew of approximately six workers, each of who had his individual duties. The work was neat and clean. We have now had the system in place for two seasons and it works beautifully. I am spending no more on using this system that I was in using individual room AC units. One complaint: We have had to keep after them to close out the necessary paperwork with our local village. This is not their forte.

They are very reliable and I've used them in the past. I can recommend them, they do a very good job with the work. They are very responsive, they came within 2 hours of when I called. I am pretty satisfied with the service.

They are the best. They came to fix something and they quoted something. They said the people who did the piping before did a horrible job and that's why the heat wasn't working. I asked them how they knew and they said because they do that kind of work. He called up the company himself and told them that the person who did the work did it wrong and had lied to me. He said he represents home owners in his community, even though he didn't know me, and he told them the guy needed to come back or he would be reporting them. He took me under his wing. They came and they fixed it because of this guy from Universe Appliance, Mr. Powell. He saved me a lot of money and he didn't even get any money for it. He is really like an advocate. He could have told me it was broke or something, but he stood up for me. Someone like this deserves a thank you. He worked with me against this company to rectify improper installation by this company, which is a large company known by everyone around here. They didn't charge me anything, they just really wanted my family to have heat that night.

They were very nice and professional, they did excellent work, and they were accommodating.

Service was within a short time span, and Kris the technician was very knowledgeable, worked clean, was polite and actually had the part on his truck. (in the past when I had a service contracts with other companies, I had to wait weeks for the parts). Installation was quick and painless. One of the best things is that they not only garentee the work for a year but give you a free service contract on the appliance for one year. This means if anything else goes wrong with that part or any other part you don't have to pay for another service call for the entire year you only pay for parts.I would definitely use them again. PS. The $25 discount coupon came in handy.

As a small business owner myself,there are times when you let one go"on the house".It cements relationships that go a long way to building good will.

We have a heating service contract with this company. We've been using them for almost 3years and we've never had any negitive issues with them. They are prompt with appointments and I believe their prices are fair and accurate for services preformed. The tech's are very professional and personable, an overall pleasant experience, definitely reccomended from our experience with this company.

It was a pleasure from start to finish.The whole team from Rich, Eddie,Lou, and Eric, went above and beyond what I had expected.VERY VERY PROFESSIONAL.

We had checked out a few brands. They said they couldn?t get parts for a certain brand that I had liked, and that was a big consideration for me. They had recommended another brand and told me what to look for in a brand even though we didn?t buy anything from them.

They are very good. They are reliable and the service men nice.

Both the sub-contractor who did the removal and Universe themselves were very punctual and professional. Sub-contractor arrived first at 8:30 and completed the removal in 60-90 minutes. Great care was taken to minimize the mess including removal of all debris and laying down of drop cloths where ever they worked or walked. Universe showed up around 9:30, walked me through what they were going to do and started to work right away also making sure they were as clean and neat as possible. Job was completed by 5pm and the only issues were the lack of parts (including the new boiler which was delivered late) and one thermostat that the tech could not get working. Another tech showed up the next night and fixed the thermostat issue but uncovered another issue that another tech had to fix a few days later. But the installation looks very nice and professional and overall everyone did a great job. My only major issues were the smell of oil that lingered though-out the house all day and dirtiness that was left when everything was complete. Even though they try to create a little of a mess as possible, the entire project is just messy and we ended up having to clean our carpets afterward after seeing my kids feet turn black from just walking around. But I don't think there is really anyway around that.

They came when they said they were going to come and were upfront with the price. I think the price was good. The two young men who installed it did a good job and cleaned up after themselves. I am very happy with the product. They are a family owned outfit so they have a small group of people to deal with.

The technician arrived well within the promised "window". He was efficient, polite, offered a service contract without being overbearing. Did what he needed to do, told me everything was working fine. He even changed my air filter - no one ever did that for me before! Answered whatever questions I had. I gave him my credit card for payment, I signed, and that was it! He wished me a good summer and off he went. :)

My washing machine made a horrible sound and then ceased to function on a Saturday morning. I called Universe after checking Angie's list. Got an appointment for Monday morning. I was delighted that the technician arrived within the service "window" given me by the repair department! The technician was courteous, neat, and did the work quickly and efficiently. I didn't have to clean up after him, and my washing machine works perfectly now. Overall an excellent experience. I would definitely use Universe again and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs appliance repairs.
