Excellent The man came on time, diagnosed the problem, gave us the cost, did the repair, and guaranteed his work for one year, including parts and service. He was in and out in less than an hour.

Work done when scheduled and skillfully and neatly. $400. was a bit expensive for one part and 15 minutes' labor.

The plumber who wrote up the invoice and estimate was not the person doing the work. He had to show up and map out what the workers were suppose to do, and how to get it done.. They failed to drain the pipes before taking them down, so the remaining water worked its way into my kitchen, but the final product turned out alright.

Excellent. A fill valve had been shut off for some time. There was insufficient water in the circulation system The Universe technician seeing that the water pressure in the system was too low, opened the valve until the pressure was within normal limits. We thought that the radiators might have to be air bled, but after he left, it turned out that all the radiators were working properly. The cost to me only amounted to the visit service charge and that was far less than a major repair would have cost. Very satisfied!

John the sales rep I was with was great. He answered all the questions my wife and I had. Given the scope of the project, he tried to walk us through all the steps and explained everything. During the installation, the crew was there promptly at 8:00. They put down protective drop cloths to make sure that they didn’t leave a mess and cleaned up everything after they left. The installation went very smooth. We have not turned on the condensers as yet since it’s still cold outside but they agreeded to come back to do an initial turn on for the Spring/Summer.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Was informed that my boiler needed to be replaced. Cost? $6000.00. Got a second opinion. Cost $274 They will rip u off. Always, always get another opinion ESPECIALLY if you are a woman.

All I needed was my boiler cleaned. Universe told me I needed a new boiler. Cost $6k and they could replace next day. I called Aaron’s Heating - they came same day, said u definitely did not need new boiler just a cleaning. $450. I am a senior woman.

I don't even know where to begin. I've used Universe for a few jobs over the past two years and other than the price being a little overdone, everything else went smoothly from customer contact to punctuality. I noticed that the nut from the union of two steam supply lines was leaking intermittently. I called Universe on Friday 11/9/18 at 2 p.m. and explained the situation in detail and was told someone would come Friday evening between 7 & 11 p.m. At about 930 "Tommy" came and took one look and shook his head. He informed me that he was just a HVAC guy and only dealt with boilers and that I needed a plumber. He also stated he didn't even have a wrench big enough. I thought that was completely laughable but that he needed to call his boss and remedy the situation. I stood in the room as he called Universe and I specifically heard him convey exactly what was needed to fix the problem. I was assured that the following day 11//10/18 that the plumber would come between 2 & 6 p.m. Plumber shows up close to 7 p.m. and takes one look and like his co worker starts shaking his head. He tells me that he could fix the problem but doesn't have the parts (piping). How that's even possible when the previous worker told his boss what was exactly needed is beyond me. I was apologized to by both the plumber and his supervisor. I was informed that for the considerable inconvenience I would receive a 50.00 coupon (which is nothing since I already had several 50.00 coupons from the weekly penny savers and advertisements) and that they would deduct the service charge from the total bill (110.00). I was also told by the plumber that he would be back personally on Monday 11/12/18 between 8 and 830 a.m. making us the first appointment of the day. I looked at the invoice after he'd left an noticed there was no service charge deducted from the bill. At 930 I called Universe because low and behold no one showed up. I spoke to one of the girls in the office who told me the plumbing supervisor was on another call and he would call me right back. I waited a half hour with no callback not to mention no courtesy call from the plumber to even say he was detained. My wife took over, since my sense of diplomacy went out the window. She spoke to another "Tommy" who was supposedly the plumbing supervisor. Of course we find out that the plumber was on a different job instead of mine. My wife asked for a discount on the job cost for all that we've been through. Initially, "Tommy" did not budge but said he'd call the plumber because only he knew the scope of the job. As a supervisor, I have no idea why he'd have to call a subordinate for a price reduction especially when the tentative invoice I signed on Saturday evening detailed the scope of work. "Tommy" offered my wife an additional 50.00 coupon. Forget the fact that my wife and I rarely have the same day off but this time we had a 3 day weekend which we spent waiting for workers who were inept or just didn't show. A 50.00 coupon is nothing short of an insult. Obviously I canceled the job. The level of ineptitude rivals a Three Stooges episode, not to mention just a lack of human courtesy by not even calling or making a genuine attempt to rectify the situation. You've lost a customer that has plenty of planned work ahead as I wouldn't even let you wash my windows. *****As an update I sent the invoice to a licensed plumber in NYC and he said the price was highway robbery for replacing 4 feet of piping as the invoice stated. I may not be a plumber but I can measure and it's actually 30 inches and that's being generous. BUYER BEWARE as they are out to rip you off. I wish they sent Sean out to fix this issue because he's done 3 previous labor intensive jobs and was a complete professional. In the time it took to write this review I had another company come who are working as I type. With one look he stated that the entire section of piping did not need to be replaced and his price is a fraction of what I would have been billed.

Extremely professional, and friendly at the same time. Took the time to explain everything that was happening very clearly and patiently. They were also happy to defer replacing the heating coil until the weather got cooler, and didn't hesitate to defer a significant cost of the job until that work was completed. I would definitely call them back for any future hvac needs.

Team was professional, knowledgeable and explained every detail of job. Servicemen were very friendly and even helped me remove a large window AC. I was impressed at how efficient the team worked. Loved that Universe sent four to five people to work on the job. They arrived exactly at the time they promised and finished the job at the time they approximated. Obviously very experienced technicians!

Paul and team provided excellent installation experience following gas leak.

They responded to my non-emergency inquiry within hours and a plumber came by that same day. His assessment was that my toilet, a standard 2-piece Kohler Wellworth, needed a complete overhaul for a price tag of over $600. The other option was to replace the toilet with the same model (current list price $298) for a total cost of $950. Word of caution: check prices BEFORE making an appointment.

My deep freezer stopped working last night and the food inside was starting to thaw. With the holiday weekend coming up it would have been a nightmare to lose all that food. Contacted Universe and they were onsite within an hour and in 45 minutes my freezer was fixed. These folks saved my holiday weekend! Professional and trustworthy. A+++++ in my book!!

good, everything was running fine (systems are only 7 & 5 years old respectively) Washed out AC Filter Checked both inside & outside units

The furnace repair went without a hitch and the gentleman who did the repairs was great. The hot water heater replacement had an issue where the gas was leaking after the repair and had to call National Grid in and then call Universal. The leak should have been discovered at the time of installation as the connection was never secured which cause the gas leak.

Very easy to work with but have high hourly rates.
