Description of Work: We had 2 leaks in the basement. They were difficult to get at. It required two men. They worked tirelessly for six hours to repair one leak and several hours to repair the other.

Description of Work: called for service on my dryer 2 service men came her looking at dryer could not find the problem ,then said i needed a timer for my Bosh dryer which is about 3 years old at time the senior man was teaching young tec/ after about an hour since i paid about 900.00 for front load dryer i said go ahead the night before they were to come with part i went downstairs to look at dryer i saw a key light on the front screen i pressed the button shut the key light off , the dryer went on NOT what universe said the tech should have known that and i told them that morning and told them not to bother i did asked for my service charge of 92.00 refunded which they did but i would not trust them again good thing i used common sense to check on my own .

Description of Work: Due to "Sandy" we contacted Universal to estimate damage to our ductless system. Larry came and stated we would need a new condenser for it was underwater. We then scheduled an appointment for 4/22/13 to replace condenser and install on bracket on the house. The one thing I was disappointed in was I didnt get a discount for replacing condenser, especially since it was not yet a year old?? I am waiting for them to come 4/22/13 to install new condenser but am sure service will be satisfactory.E. Mastriano

Description of Work: I hired Universal to fix the water fixture on my frig. They were prompt and fixed the issue in a very quick manner. However, 150 bucks to run hot water in the line was a little overpriced in my opinion. Not exactly friendly either. Not rude but def not friendly.

Description of Work: I asked for their service and they refused to come because they have too many clients. You need to sign a contract for over $300 with them to come and do the repairs. We are without hot water since the hurricane! Very bad way to treat people in need specially in a time like this when we had been under so many problems. I guess they make too much money!

Description of Work: The best appliance repair I have used to date. I had someone else come out before and the told me my refrigerator was beyond repair. Universal told me otherwise and fixed it and my stove in less than an hour. I have already recommended them to my other family needing similar services.

Description of Work: Our old split a/c system had died, so they came in and removed the old units and installed the new ones. They were courteous, and informative, and considerate. When they left, it looked like someone had used magic to replace the old units. I had no cleaning to do whatsoever. Additionally, the wiring on the outside of the house was replaced, and it looks great. They used outdoor wire channel molding, and it just looks like part of the house. They were in and out in one day, and they had even installed an additional unit where they had not been one. Again, it looks like it's always been there.

Description of Work: We have used Universe for a while and have a contract for our boiler/water heater service. We have also used them for repairing our stove and dishwasher. They are extremely professional, are able to get parts and make very good suggestions. If the repair should be very costly, they may even advise getting a new appliance rather than repairing the one in question. We could be happier.
