The price was a bit steep, but they did a good job overall.

Although "Free Estimates" are advertised, I was told that there is a "$99 service charge" for an estimate (it would be removed from my bill if I purchased the hot water heater). Roland J. Down, less than truthful!

RUN the other way!!! I did not attend a meeting at work today so that I could be here during the window of time that I was given for my maintenance call. I phoned them at the beginning of the window when I was told that they were running late, and then again after the window of time had passed and was told that they were tied-up with problem calls. It was in the 60's today and will not go below freezing tonight so no emergencies, they just overbooked! This is not the first time that this situation has occurred. This used to be a wonderful company until D A Bennett took over!

Justin arrived at 8:00pm on Saturday evening and found evidence of further water contamination of the fuel oil. This is the second time a service call was needed, but the problem was in the fuel tank, not the furnace. Justin removed water from the oil line and ran the furnace to confirm proper combustion. Due to below freezing temperatures the furnace has run reliably for 72 hours since the service call. We are grateful for Justin's professional ability, good attitude and valuable help.

Fantastic service. Jason was very helpful with options for solutions to replace our furnace and fix the ductwork in part of the house. The installers (Justin, Jack, Frank, and Chris) were very professional and overall excellent. They were very respectful to our home, cleaned up after the install, and did a great job. Justin was especially great tweaking the solution to make sure it was the correct way to fix the ductwork needed in part of the home. He also was very informative and went through everything in detail. I am very happy with the service they provided!

Ed Brown was excellent, fast, efficient and friendly. I will ask for him every time.

Tech was on time and performed his duties fast and efficient. I have been with this company for almost 4 years; they installed my boiler some years ago and continue to maintain it for us at resonable cost. Scheduling is easy and tech know what they are doing. Sales reps are also know their stuff. Would recommend them.

Besides details above, we appreciate the fine service from Greg and the Roland J. Downs Company, which will help us seniors rest easier as winter approaches.

My furnace kept going out and I needed to push the reset button. The furnace had just had a yearly maintenance. Roland J Down's Service Manager came out himself, even though they they had to come out an additional two times. as the problem was intermittent and difficult to diagnose, there wasn't any service charge. The Service Manager sent me a detailed report of my furnace repairs and Heating Performance Maintenance Schedule. I feel I am more informed about the work done on my furnace. I certainly have more confidence in this company. I have been a customer of Roland J down for over 30 Years and was becoming extremely dissatisfied in the recent years. I believe this company has taken great strides in improving their services and customer relations.

Ed Brown provided excellent service and was very knowledgable. He clearly loves what he does and explains what he is doing in an easily understandable way. I will definitely be renewing my service contract next year and will be sure to ask for Ed.

The plumber responding to the call was very nice but a bit chatty if you are paying by the hour. The cost of replacing an outside faucet - which took about 45 minutes - was excessive. Over $400. I thought the $99 "roll up fee" was a minimum payment but it was an ADD ON. In all, good work, way too expensive

RJD installed a brand new A/C unit in our home. We knew the job would not be cheap, and we got several estimates. Kyle Haggerty assessed our home and was very personable and friendly. He explained the different types of air handlers and units. He wasn't pushy and quoted us a fair price. The installation went smoothly and the A/C unit works great!

Technician was on time and professional, very easy to work with. My only complaint is the $99 service call fee on top of the work, but that's a company Issue, not the technician.

Very good service, fast estimate in writing, excellent sales person. Just a lot higher than the other bids, and it was the same make and model furnace. The price above is the price of the LOW bid, not theirs. Their bid was $3000. Computer demanded a number.

the service is prompt and professional. there's something special to report about the honesty of the service people from this company. initially there was doubt about another part that might also be faulty. so I said just go ahead to order the part. that next day a second technician came with the new part. but after testing, he believed there's no need for a new part. he recommended I keep the original part and charged me nothing. this is an exemplary good business practice. I will stick to the company for future need. highly recommended!

One guy came to do this and it took about half an hour to 45 minutes. He left area very clean no problem. He also gave me good advice on filters and explained to me that if you go with the cheaper ones you just use more costing you more money.

We have used them a while. They have changed their name to Ronald J Downs. We have a contract, so you get so many visits for so much money. I think they are good, and they are honest.

They are very good. They offer a contract if you want a maintenance program. We chose not to take that but if I had done the research myself I would have probably looked further because it was very pricey. It was excellent work. I would use them again; I would compare.

My wife and I recently purchased a new house and were concerned about the existing furnace. We called Service experts and had them come over to clean the furnace since it had appeared it had not been done in a while. The service tech they sent out was very professional and knowledgeable and provided us with good information in reference to the service plans they offer. We also had them clean and service the air conditioner which also had not been cleaned in a couple years. My wife and I were very happy with their service and would use this company again in the future !!

The representative checked out all the systems and advised of several options to correct certain deficiences that exist or may be a problem in the future. My wife and I were very impressed at how helpful and professional this representive took the time to explain everything to us. We were given a written estimate for proposed equipment or repairs . We are very grateful for the representative's visit and would highy reccomend that he be complimented by his superiors.

Not very pleased with the experience. I received an offer letter in the mail to perform a spring tune up of my AC system. Unknown to me, there was a leak in my system. Therefore, when they were done, they wouldn't honor the tune up price, and charged me more because it was a service call. Then, the quote to do the repair was more than double what it should have been (they quoted $750 for a line repair and refridgerant refill) Won't use this company again.

On time arrival, professional and efficient, explained what the problem was and what was necessary to fix it. He then cleaned the unit and reolaced the filters.

They charged $99 to come to the house, $35 to examine my furnace, and then there was a charge for the parts. $99 to come to the house was a killer. I have not tried other places but I think it is common because I had another company tell me that they would charge me $99 to come and look at my lawn mower because I could not pick it up and put it in my car to take it to them. The guy was wonderful; he spent a lot of time explaining things to me and showing me what was wrong and also listened to me talk about problems that I had with the furnace. He was here within the time that I was told; they gave me a two hour window.

It went great! On Saturday 10/19/2013 my wife was in the laundry, water heater, furnace room and noticed that this little box on the floor next to the furnace kept making a noise like it was constantly running and had a red light on it that was lit. This turned out to be the condenser which captures and pumps out all of the water that our 17 year old high efficiency furnace produces. I called Roland J Downs / Service Experts around 1 PM and told them what was happening and they said they would dispatch a technician as soon as possible. The technician showed up at about 2:30-2:45 PM. He diagnosed the problem, made the repair, and was gone by 3:09 PM. Fortunately, we have a service contract with them so there was no charge for what would have been at least a $100 bill. We have had a service contract with them since 2007 when we moved in since the furnace was approximately 10 years old at the time. We have always had good service and they do the best they can at keeping repair costs down when they can. I am very happy with their response time for regular maintenance / tune up visits and especially when our furnace or A/C unit stop working.
