Description of Work: this guy opened a account with EJ Prescott charged up $4,817.25 in merchandised and refused to pay his bill and will not answer phone calls.

Description of Work: Contacted him several times, months apart, to quote for some concrete steps to be replaced. I was able to speak with him both times, and he agreed to stop by my house and give us a quote. One time, he agreed to call me when he was on his way to my house. Both times, he never stopped by the house and I never received a quote from him.

+ -1 morePrior to the service the son of the owner was in constant contact with us. He was delayed with other jobs and therefore he discounted us the amount of some additional digging equipment, which was fair. As requested I had the sprinkler people mark our yard. I was told that since I did this any breakage would be paid for by them. Well, their trucks cracked some of our pipes and broke others. When I spoke to the son, he very rudely told me that was my problem, they would not pay for the repairs. Then when the town of Colonie came to inspect the job, they asked for more back fill because the soil had eroded around the front part of the bilco door. Once again this fabulous company was contacted. Their response was that it wasn't their fault, it was mine because I didn't have gutters. Mind you that this door is on the side of my house and the eroded part was more than six feet away from the house. Those must of been some gutters I needed to install! Anyways, my general contractor, who had recommended these clowns ended up hauling in dirt and doing Loeher's job. I doubt he will be recommending them in the future.
Description of Work: Installed a Bilco door and window into basement.

Description of Work: Work done: replacement of the front stoop, including removal of old steps, special ordering of concrete steps, preparation of a platform base for new steps, grading of surrounding area. I was pleased with the work except for the use of a very sandy soil for the grading material, which is easily eroded and not satisfactory for growing a lawn. My fault for not having inquired nor specified what would be desirable. I ended up removing most of their soil and replacing it with better quality topsoil.

Description of Work: The work I had done was the removal and disposal of a set of stone and concrete steps, the preparation of a crushed stone pad and installation of new pre-cut concrete steps on top of the pad, including some dirt landscaping around the new steps. The estimate was prompt and courteous, the price reasonable ($1200), the work competently and efficiently completed, and the clean-up well done. I especially appreciated the care taken to inform me of an unavoidable delay in starting time, since so often contractors of all kinds tend to keep customers waiting without notice, as though the customer¹s time is not valuable. These folks went the extra mile with me, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing such service.

+ -1 moreI was happy to find a contractor who was able to come up with a workable solution to eliminate the unsightly culvert from my property. Tom Loehr was certainly a wonderful choice for this work. There is no drainage issue at all, even during heavy rain due to his expertise. He left the area raked, smooth and ready for seeding. I highly recommend him. I prefer not to discuss the cost but it was exactly half of what another contractor had bid.
Description of Work: They dug up a culvert pipe that went through my yard, disposed of it and then brought in rubble for drainage underneath and new top soil for the top.
