PROFESSIONAL CHIMNEY SERVICES

The work was done as agreed. The worker was professional, made changes when we asked, and did more than expected. The owner came and verified that we were satisfied before his worker left the site. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

From my first call to Doug I felt completely confident in his knowledge and expertise with my chimney issues. He listened to my concerns and spent quite some time on that first call with me. The work was able to be done fairly soon after. His pricing was fair and he and his coworker were friendly, punctual and professional. I would highly recommend him to anyone for any chimney issues.

Emailed Doug to schedule service in October, he was very busy so we agreed I would call when I got back from vacation in November. Upon my return, I called and we scheduled for the following Monday. Doug arrived on time, swept my chimney, checked the wood stove and cleaned up after himself. No issues found and we will schedule again next fall. I have had Doug out several times, including a visit to install a new wood stove insert, and only this year noticed he was on Angie's List. Always provides prompt, courteous service.

At our request, Mr. Bergen preformed inspections of both chimneys on our 100+ year-old home. Inspection disclosed both were in need of demolition and rebuilding from below the roofline. We contracted the job to Mr. Bergen's company (Professional Chimney Services). The work as done in a most professional manner...Scaffolding was assembled and the chimneys were demolished and rebuilt from below the roofline to their previous height including new brick, mortar, liners and top caps. Mr. Bergen selected a brick which closely matched the original color preserving the appearance of the chimneys. Both chimneys were re-flashed and waterproofed and animal caps were installed. All construction equipment was removed and the area was thoroughly cleaned of all construction debris.

We had Doug install our chimney liner and have been using him for years now for chimney cleaning. He is professional, polite, and highly trustworthy. I very much recommend him.

Doug came right out and helped us maneuver through a few different vendors without pointing fingers and saying he couldn't help. We also had him fix some issues we had been putting off. His price was reasonable but most importantly, he was professional and concerned with taking care of us and our problem. We would definitely hire him again.

Received a number of high quotes from other chimney companies for a home in Scotia, before talking with Doug. He was honest, provided a fair quote and completed the work quickly... was even under budget! I could not be happier with the quality of the work and the people at Professional Chimney Services. Doug and his crew do excellent work. We have been using him for a long time. I think that says a great deal. You can't find a better service to maintain and repair your stove pipes and chimneys.

I did not hire Doug, as it was clear to me that he never went up ONTO the roof... just quoted a bogus fee of $1,200. I had the work done by another very reputable, responsive firm for $250, so you see how far off he was. Make sure he shows you pictures of your roof or chimney or what ever you need fixed. He's a con artist.

Very professional workers willing to answer my questions and explain process. Arrived exactly when they said they would. The office caught a mistake in billing and called me immediately saying a refund check was in the mail ( which arrived). Since the work being done is not easily viewed without climbing on the roof it was important to trust that the work was being done well. I felt that this crew was trustworthy.

Doug was very clear about what we needed to do immediately and what could probably wait a few years. His bid was lower than others we got. He and his crew were very pleasant and polite, worked quickly, cleaned up well. A completely positive experience.

Liner installed is apparently too restrictive in that the furnace makes a loud continuous noise when it starts up, as if it is struggling to move the exhaust out the chimney. Also told us that he would be back to seal the bricks and mortar when mortar cured. He never came back to do that part of job. He blew off our phone calls.

It went really well. He came out right away, he first came out and got the bird out, He then came back on Monday and put a screen on, and I did not realize they came in a standard one inch, I then called him back to put a bigger screen on, he had to order one me, and about a week later he came back and out the new one on. He only charged me for the shipping. Doug is a really good guy.

They arrived on time, cleaned, did a thorough inspection and cleaned up. Will definitely use again

Doug, called very soon after my request for an estimate. He arranged a date and arrived promptly to view the situation, gave a clear explanation of the problem and a worst case scenario estimate. We arranged a work date and Doug arrived as agreed and spent the day grinding out and then replacing the old mortar. He installed new clay flue tiles, and secured the metal cage. As promised, the next day Doug came to waterproof the job, and cleaned up all debris from the work. I appreciated Doug's honest and clear explanation of what he was doing and how he was doing it. He also provided me with very useful advice on how to do some self maintenance of the flashing, as a way to avoid more expense - that is rare! A very positive experience with a professional who enjoys what he does and cares for the customer.

I was called within an hour after my request for assistance since painter on tight schedule and some of wall had to be torn down. They used scaffold to get to our high roof, so no damage done to our windows or siding. They were very professional. Doug, Matt, and Tony their carpenter were all very hard workers. The job took 2 days and before and after pictures were taken to prove damage being repaired. It had been tarred over previously by other workers - this time done correctly. They cleaned up after themselves and were easy to get along with and we were very satisfied with the work. We would recommend them to others.

He said it was too early in the season to do the work at that time, but he promised to let me know when the weather was good. Doug and his crew showed up the first warm days after his notice and quickly and neatly completed the promised work for the quoted price.

From the estimate to the job completion, the job was handled professionally and on time. The job site was left clean. Doug called us back when we werer looking for estimates (unlike many others...) and worked with us on the price to get us exactly what we needed and wanted.

Doug and Matt came when I expected them, did the work quickly, cleaned everything up. They also returned the next day to finish up the weatherproofing. So far I am very pleased.

Doug was extremely responsive and professional. He was very knowledgeable and explained every detail of what he was doing along the way. He maintained great communication and did exactly what he said he would do and when he said he would do it. He didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't really need. I'm very pleased to have worked with this company and would definitely recommend them. I didn't get any other bids so I can't comment on the price competitiveness, but for the amount of work they did I don't feel like it was out whack.

I left a message with Doug this morning and he called me back quickly. He was able to stop by my house to inspect my chimneys and had an estimate to me before the end of the day. He gave me a no BS assessment of what needed to be done. Turns out that at this time things were not as bad as I feared, so a couple minor touches and I'm ok. I really appreciated his time and how he handled the whole deal, and while no work is being done by him at this time, if I do need any chimney work in the future, he is the first person I'm calling.
