My Dryer Vent Guy

It was a pleasure to see someone who was a professional and cleaned up behind himself. Very reliable. On time and was friendly. Explained why the hose was not the proper one to use. How often the dryer vents should be cleaned. I have told my friends about him.

It started as a standard as a standard vent cleaning but it turned into a bigger job from there. It turns that my whole vent system needed to be replaced so he handled that as well. It went very well. He went into a lot of detail and showed me why my vent system needed replacing so I approved the extra work and I'm that I did. The Big Deal drew me in, but I ended up with a great service at a good price. I did have a bit of sticker shock because he forgot to warn me of the upcharge for the replacement of the system. Outside of that, he did a really good job.

They were professional and on time. Only issue I had was hose had come off back of dryer probably when it was pulled out. Easy thing for my husband to fix.

He was good! He did a great job and was fast! He used a brush on the end of a long metal line. He goes all the way in from outside and keeps pulling all the junk out. There was quite a bit! He tests it to see what the suction is and how it’s doing. I felt it was worth it.

After contacting Howard to clean out our dryer vent, he discovered that out long venting system was not safe and needed to be replaced. We needed several new parts including an upgraded vent for the outside of our house (almost $100 for the vent) Since we wanted the vent to match our historical house, Howard, aka - the Dryer Vent Guy, located one that fit the character of our home. He was prompt, courteous, and did a nice job on the new system. Our dryer is now running much more efficiently!

Owner of business very nice and very professional. After looking at my dryer hose and seeing how short it was he didn't want to charge me, which was amazing to hear! I told him thanks but he didn't have to do that as he showed up on time (actually early) to do a job. He fixed the dryer vent that was actually a bathroom vent according to him and told me how I could clean the vent by myself in the future.

Harold arrived early and worked quickly. He was done in about a half hour, given that we didn't encounter any problems. He is extremely professional, and takes the time to educate his customer. I especially liked that he was able to take readings before and after the dryer vent cleaning to show me how much my dryer's efficiency had improved. He also explained how I could better clean the lint trap to keep the vents clean longer. He pulled out my dryer about a half inch from the wall to improve the air flow as well.

It went great, from my initial phone call, to his phoning me that he would be late (due to traffic issues), to the work performed, and his explanations as to what I can now expect and what to watch out for. The cleaning was fast, and enough lint was cleaned out to fill at least a grocery bag. Harold's attitude was professional, enthusiastic, and personable. At the end of the service, he explained what the dryer should feel like, and what the air, that exits the house, should feel like. It was demonstrated very clearly, by the wide-open positioning of the three plastic louvers on the outside of the house, just how much more air is now flowing through. My first laundry loads that went in the next day were dried faster than before, and the clothes were so hot that it appears I now have to set the dryer to medium heat, not the high heat setting that I had been using the past five years. That's good! Since I am not the original homeowner, I would guess, then, that the vent had never been cleaned before, and that would be 11 years worth.

Can't say enough positive about this business. Would definitely use again and highly recommend.

I needed not reschedule a couple of time and he was fine with it.He was very professional, seemed to know what he was doing and was in and out in less than a half hour.

The contractor quickly assessed our need for a new drier vent, provided a written estimate, removed the old vent, and installed a new vent. The contractor was very informative about the issues (including fire safety) and was clear in his suggestions for remediation. The final price was a little higher than the estimate due to unanticipated additional parts. Since the installation of a new dryer vent, the performance of the drier has improved markedly. We are very satisfied with the results.

I bought the special via Angie's List and Harold contacted me promptly. We scheduled for 6/30 but when he got here we discovered that I had a bee hive in my dryer vent where it comes out of the house. That needed to be taken care of before he could do the work. He gave me instructions to spray at dusk because that is when all the bees are there. These instructions were confirmed by the staffer at Home Depot when I bought the bug spray. I then had to wait 24 hours after spraying to remove the remnants of the hive. So my first piece of advice to is check your vent on the outside and make sure there are no bee issues so it's all taken care of before he gets there. Check even if you don't plan to have this work done because it's a safety issue; hives can block the vent and cause fires. So we rescheduled for 7/5. Harold was actually a little early which was fine because I have somewhere I have to go. He cleaned the vent. He got out a TON of lint! I really didn't think I had a problem, my dryer has been drying fine, but this work was definitely needed. He also checked my hose running from the dryer to the wall and confirmed that I did not need to replace it, that it is the recommended type. He also installed a new vent cover which was the extra charge, but well worth it. The type I had before was just something that would keep out birds and rodents, but clearly did not keep out bees. The new cover is the kind with slats that open when the dryer is running and lay flat when it is off, so I won't have a bee problem again. Harold was very pleasant and professional and I definitely recommend him. I will use his services again.

I won't hesitate to request his services in the future, and highly recommend that if you're in need of someone to clean/inspect your dryer vent (it's not "just a dryer vent," it's a safety issue), Harold should be the one you call.

We moved into our place that had a terrible dryer vent setup that always made clothes take longer to dry than it should. Ordered up a vent cleaning service deal from AL and based on high reviews thought I'd give Harold and his crew a shot. Of course Harold tells us that the existing setup wasn't to code and the vent cleaning cannot be done due to liability concerns. I personally thought I should still have the option. So given safety is a concern for my family I ask for an estimate. The original number seemed a little high but I knew we would get quality work based on previous reviews here so said yes. Then during the job the number went up several more times. By the time the job was over the job cost around $100 more than originally estimated. I'd consider my job of medium complexity. So still giving an 'a' review given super great high quality work that solved a long standing problem with my home but just watch those estimates if you are someone on a tight budget.

Harold was friendly, polite, on time and professional throughout the job. Our previous dryer vent setup was lengthy (maybe 30 feet in total) with a couple of 90 degree bends in it. Harold gave us what I thought was a fair estimate for installing a new dryer vent that was much straighter and shorter than our privious one. This was not an easy install in that we have a stone exterior home that required drilling through mortar and then 5 inches of stone to install the new vent system. Our new dryer vent system works much better than the previous one we had. Clothes dry noticeably faster than before and this new system, being much shorter and straighter, will be much easier to keep clean. I highly recommend My Dryer Vent Guy. He really knows his stuff and did a great job for us at a very fair price.

Harold looked at the outside vent and said we were doing the correct thing by cleaning it where we could. He turned on the dryer to make sure it was performing well and felt the venting tube - everything was fine. He said the venting tube was put in according to code, even though we were concerned about it having too many bends. Because of our concern regarding the bends, Harold straighten the venting tube so that there are only two bends (one coming from the dryer, and the other going out to the outside vent).

Harold came over and took a look at the dryer vent. Since my dryer tube a had a very short journey to the outside vent, it was cheaper to just replace the foil and clean the outside of the vent. He was very pleasant and easy to work with. It cost me less than expected, which was also a plus.

Harold arrived right on time. He assessed the situation and was he ever right. The vent had a great deal of lint and pet hair that Howard removed. He then professionally cleaned the vent. He replaced the outside vent and the connection from the dryer to the vent. He explained why my dryer wasn't working correctly and gave me tips to prevent future occurrences. He also explained how to make things easier for my dryer. There was one item I needed to bring up to code and Howard pointed it out to me. I thought that his charge for the service he performed and the parts he provided very reasonable. Howard was very professional and pleasant. I recommend him very highly.

This project turned out to be much more involved than just a cleaning. We are extremely pleased with the work that was performed and the knowledge we obtained on the problems that existed. Our venting system was not properly installed so it all had to be redone. I am confident in the work that was performed and my dryer is definitely more efficient. I even got a follow up call to see if it was working as he said it would. I am pleased to say-yes it does. I would recommend My Dryer Vent Guy He was well prepared to do all aspects of a surprise additional job.
