I hired this company after one failed to show for a scheduled estimate and another, I felt I had to keep explaining how I wanted the driveway done. Tim arrived on time for the estimate. I was impressed with his professionalism. Hired them. Was told, due to scheduling it would be about three weeks to start the work. No Problem. Actually showed up early on the scheduled day to start. I was impressed with the friendliness of the crew. EXTREMELY happy with the work performed. I would highly recommend this company for your blacktop needs.

I filled out a request form on their website for an estimate. I was never contacted and it's been over a week. I'd prefer not to sole source my contract with one of their competitors, but I am not really excited to choose Egan if their responsiveness is poor.

I used them to replace my asphalt driveway and my cement sidewalk. They were on time and worked quickly. It did help to have a gorgeous day. 6 men arrived and each were courteous. I noticed the original base was pea stone which explained why there were so many dips in my driveway. I used the more expensive option which involved fabric, stone, and 2 asphalt layers. I don't know if it is overkill/necessary but the price sounded reasonable and I decided to go all out. They started work around 7 am and ended around 2 pm. I noticed it would take a little time for Tim to return my phone call but I guess I can't complain since I was happy with his work. Out of four quotes, this paving company was the second cheapest. I can't say cost is on my mind but having it done right was what I wanted. Plus, you never know what they would encounter when they dig up my driveway. What probably persuaded me to use him was when he came out for an estimate on Saturday. He mentioned some things the other paving companies didn't say (if the base was clay or sand). He mentioned the price of the job is really dependent on what the base is. Plus, my gut just said go with him since my wife was there too.

Egan's crew came when they said they would, did the work quickly and cleaned up when they were done. We are very pleased with Egan Paving.

Arrived when promised. Began work immediately. Dug out and removed old driveway. Dug down approx. 8 inches. Applied fabric paper on soil for entire driveway. Applied approx 4" crusher run as base and finely graded. Edged all grass back and sawcut keyway at road. Applied approx 3" dense binder and compressed. Glued any area that were butted into. Paved driveway with approx 2" state top type 7. Rolled with vibratory roller. Fully cleaned all areas. They rolled the driveway a number of times to insure a smooth surface. I was very impressed with the time they spent on the project. It was no rush job. They were on site for a minimum of 7 1/2 hours on a 1065 sq ft driveway. Gave us a senior discount and gladly accepted the Angie's list coupon that was offered. I would recommend them highly.

I called them and left a message to get a quote but they never returned my call.

After receiving 4 quotes from 4 different companies, we decided to go with Egan Paving based on the price and their reviews here. They showed up on time and were done by noon. Driveway looks great! Would recommend.

The men that work for Egan Paving were excellent - very professional. Tim Egan was not. When my new driveway was installed it looked beautiful, except that there were visible flaws where the two sides of the driveway met. When I asked about this while they were installing, Tim Egan acted offended that I would ask any questions about the job he was doing. Although I was paying him thousands of dollars, he seemed to resent that I would question anything. He lectured that I asked more questions than any other customer he had ever had... when paying thousands of $ aren't I entitled to ask questions? When finally 8 days later we drove cars onto it, the original left side, which used to be flat, now has a bizarre slope of 4 inches over 8 feet. The new right side has a more normal 1 inch slope over the new 10 feet. So the driveway drops noticeably on the left and then levels out on the right. I called Tim Egan to come and look at the driveway, and he was very rude. He and then his father told me that the driveway is perfect, and i am just looking for a problem. I paid them $2750 and expected a professional response to my questions and concerns... this is not a job that I have ever done before and I expect a contractor to respond to my questions in a respectful manner. My new driveway looks nice until you drive over it and feel like your car will tip over. Yes I understand that it needs to slope for drainage... I'm not an idiot... and I resent Tim telling me that if I understand drainage I would know this... but it doesn't have to slope so much that my car is tipping over. I will never hire Egan Paving again because of their rude response to every question I asked. And I will tell all of my friends and acquaintances to avoid these rude people.

Tim provided me with two estimates and offered a detailed explanation of the scope of the project. He and his crew arrived on time and exhibited thorough and efficient teamwork. They were courteous, friendly, and exercised caution working near the house and foliage. When the job was completed, they cleaned up and left nothing but a nice, new driveway.

I think they did a very good job. They removed the old driveway and laid down the base for the new one the first day. Because we have a high water table in this area, compounded with clay soil, I was concerned with drainage issues, so they waited a week to test the new base before finishing with the top coat. During that week, of course, we couldn't use the driveway, but that was OK in order to assess the special care they took in digging a deeper foundation for the new base layer. The second layer really had a nice finished look, and they took care to adjust the level of the blacktop to the height of the sidewalks. Tim Egan is a very nice, professional man who impressed me as very knowledgeable and caring. He and his crew acted in a quiet, workmanlike manner--they knew their jobs and worked well together. They cleaned up after themselves and were always polite and friendly. I'm glad I hired them; I didn't know them beforehand, and hired them mostly on Angie's List recommendations.

They were very good. Other companies told us they had to pull the whole driveway out and put a new one in which would cost a lot more. This guy said he could just resurface it, putting about 3-inches of blacktop on top of what was there and it would be fine. So, we were very pleased and it held up very well.

It went fine. We actually used them before. I like the how they worked the first time and I went ahead and used them again. They are very prompt and very professional. They just came in and did a good job. I thought the price was fair.

Everything went well. Response time to a request for quote was great. Work was done professionally and timely. To begin, we live on a very busy road. They brought people to close a lane and direct the traffic so that there would be no safety issue with the trucks coming and going. We have an uphill driveway with a parking area on top. The garage sits on a hill from the parking area. They graded the slope up to the garage so that it is no longer such a steep incline to get into the garage. They paved that and the rest of the parking area and then did a repair at the bottom of the driveway where the pavement was breaking off and creating quite a ridge. We are planning on having them back next summer to redo the entire hill part of the driveway. We were unable to do it this year as you can't drive on the asphalt for a few days and neither my husband nor myself could take the time from work at this time of year. I would definitely recommend them.

I would recommend them. I am going to have him sealcoat next month.

Provider does not we turn phone calls made over the last two weeks. When I finally reached him he said that he would not do the seal coating. He does not complete follow up work where he cannot make the big bucks of drive meant replacements

Tim was great to work with. He returned calls promptly. He gave me an approximate time for the estimate, but then called ahead to give me a more definite time. He was friendly, polite, and very informative. He mentioned some things about my particular area that would affect how they did the driveway. The cheaper estimate I had didn't mentioned these things; the other company that did mention them was much more expensive. When I made the appointment to have the work done, he called the day before and gave me a time. His crew arrived on the dot. When they were finished, everything was cleaned up and looked great. I live in a townhouse and my neighbor's driveway is about a foot away from mine. They were very considerate of their property as well and made sure that it was cleaned up of any debris. It's only been two weeks and I know time will tell with services like this, but as far as the process leading up to the work and the work itself, Tim and his crew did a great job. It looks fabulous. I got 3 estimates and Egan Paving provided the most comprehensive and best price. Some of the companies I contacted were very difficult to arrange to get an estimate, I got answers like when we are in the area we will see if you are home. Egan Paving worked with my schedule and provided the most prompt estimate. The quality of work was excellent. They arrived on time and thoroughly and efficiently did the job. The crew were a nice bunch of guys, very respectful and courteous. Tim Egan was on site thru the entire job. I would highly recommend them for your paving job.

We are very pleased with Tim Egan and his crew. First of all, Tim was very responsive to our communications. After we called for a quote, he was there the next day and provided the quote in writing on the spot. Subsequent email communications (we had a couple of follow up questions) we very promptly answered by email and phone. The price was competitive. We chose them because of how knowledgable they seemed and because of their professionalism. When it came time to schedule the work, we did not have to wait long...they were able to fit us in quickly. We set up an anticipated date which was dependent upon weather and how quickly other in-process jobs would be finished up. He told us he would call us 48 hours ahead of time to let us know for sure the exact day, and he did. On the day of the work, they arrived promptly at their stated time. They were instantly at work removing the old driveway. They even went above and beyond by removing a shrub for us and setting it aside carefully in a bucket. The entire job was completed by mid-afternoon. They were neat and left our property as they found it. All work was completed as specified in the quote. They graciously honored their Angie's List coupon which we kind of sprung on them (we only came across it after we had contracted for the work). They even provided us a booklet about how to care for our new driveway before they left. We would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them.

All went well. Tim and crew arrived on time. Entire job went smoothly. Crew was very professional and courteous. Everything was explained before, during, and after the job Would highly recommend Egan Paving!.

Great job on the driveway, however they left a mess in my garage - mud - I wasn't told they would be spraying water in there or i would have swept it out first, and a layer of dirt/dust over everything else. They also used duct tape on a white vinyl fence and didn't warn me they were doing it. If I'd removed it promptly, it would have been fine. Unfortunately, I didn't notice it until a week later. Now it's stuck on there and looks horrible. Update: They came back and removed the tape and cleaned the fence.

My quote was based on the ground being sand. I told Tim, who owns the business with his father, I thought the ground was sand when he asked. On the day they came to do the driveway, upon digging, they realized my ground was clay. Tim Egan actually texted me a video to show me the water and clay to show how bad it was. He quoted me the increased amount and knowing I was on a budget, he gave me the alternative which was to put the crushed stone in and layer and a layer of asphalt. He would put the additional layer in during the same time frame next year so I could pay the difference then. I was worried and even had him to talk to a friend of mine who knew what was involved in paving. He said Tim was doing the right thing and in fact my driveway would be in better shape by waiting a year for another layer of asphalt. So, that's what I did. The driveway currently still looks great. Tim called me at work about an hour before they were finishing so I could be home. The guys on the work crew were very nice, very professional and took care in cleaning up the area when they were done. Tim explained everything to me and I plan on calling him back to finish the job next April. My only con would be where they moved my landscaping bricks to be able to do the sidewalk. When moving the bricks, they stacked them right on my tulips that were just starting to come up. I didn't notice this until they left otherwise I'm sure they would've moved them had I mentioned it. Tim was very personable and responsive. I feel they did a quality job. It's also so nice to be able to park all of the cars in the driveway!
