The carpenter who originally arranged Sherwin's services as a subcontractor abandoned me. The new carpenter I hired did the entire kitchen remodeling, including the flooring. I was forced to take Sherwin to Small Claims Court in order to get my prepayment refunded.

I only saw the owner three times. Once for an estimate, a second time when he dropped off his crew and the materials and the third time after the crew had left when he came to pick up his check. The crew was courteous but the installation was less than professional. The edges were inconsistent, they stored power tools on and scratched hardwood flooring in an adjacent room and they marked a wall that had been painted only a few days earlier. In general, they showed little regard for any existing installations. When the owner came for his check, he never looked at any of the work for which he was responsible even though done by his crew. When I complained about some of the deficiencies, he made no offer to fix any of them, merely presented the bill.
