Description of Work: Replaced my furnace with a more efficient one. Have saved much money from installation in Jan 2015. Workers were kind, friendly, skilled, and timely. They did a 1 year follow up last month. Again, they were professional, efficient, and pleasant.

Description of Work: "A service tech came to my house to look at central air unit that another company said was irreparable; I went without it for 2 years on a second floor unit! I saved & saved to have it fixed then called Adams to give me the estimate.. The tech did a thorough job! Said it was a minor fix $114.00! What I was first told by other company was $3-5000!! My air worked like a charm all summer. I am very grateful."

Description of Work: Our hot water tank was leaking. The technician from Adams Heating & Cooling replaced a corroded valve on the hot water tank. He explained why the tank was leaking and the steps he was going to take to fix it. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and showed up on time. It is now several months later and everything is working as it should - without any problems.

Description of Work: Adams installed central air and a new furnace at my home. They were courteous and professional. However, within the first month we had three issues that needed to be repaired. I could understand one issue but by the third issue I was extremely frustrated and expressed my displeasure to their head of service. That said, since the third repair visit everything has been working fine. All of their service techs were polite and the third tech was particularly thorough. I would still recommend them to others.

Description of Work: Initially I had Adams come to my house for a service call on my 22 year old furnace. They had some issues trying to identify the problem and ended up replacing the pilot. After they left, I had problems with the furnace not starting. I spoke with the service manager and after a lot of debate, agreed to have Adams install a new furnace. I am glad I made that decision because the new furnace is much better, plus they refunded the money for the service call and gave me a great price on the new furnace. I plan to do business with them again.

Description of Work: We had a loud knocking noise coming from our boiler. I bled the radiators, but the noise persisted. My wife called Adams to get them to come look at the system. When they arrived, they told her we had a leaking boiler that needed to be replaced. They also measured the CO level, and produced a report saying that our CO level was a "93." A level of 100 is "life threatening," and requires that the boiler be condemned and shut down immediately. The Sales Manager called shortly after the technician left, saying that they could replace the boiler but only if we placed the order within 5 days. The "high pressure" sales job didn't seem right, so I immediately got bids from other vendors without telling them about Adam's "findings." I'm a volunteer fireman, so I got the CO meter (professionally calibrated monthly)from the firehouse and checked the CO levels. I didn't find any CO at all, so I asked my wife how the technician had gathered the air sample. She showed me where the technician had inserted the sample wand into the boiler to get a reading, and suddenly everything because clear. He had placed the wand into the flue, which is where all the CO clears the boiler if everything is functioning properly. By doing the same thing I was able to replicate his reading, but testing the boiler correctly did not indicate the presence of any CO leakage at all. Neither of the other vendors recorded a high CO level at all, and both said that (1)the pump which circulates the hot water was broken, and needed to be replaced, and (2) the boiler was old but sound, and needed to be cleaned. Adams told us that our boiler was bad and our basement was filling up with a potentially deadly level of CO, which they could do for $4,300 if we committed to them within 5 days. We found another vendor who replaced the circulator pump and cleaned out the boiler for $385. The boiler no longer makes the loud noises, and I have reconfirmed that we don't have any CO leakage into our basement. I'm used to vendors who use high-pressure sales tactics in an attempt to get me to buy things I really don't need, but this firm intentionally told my wife that we had a potentially deadly CO leak that needed to be fixed immediately. I don't consider that to be high-pressure sales, I consider that to be dishonest.

Description of Work: Installed new heating and air conditioning unit.

Description of Work: Basic maintenance service for 18 year old high efficiency furnace. Took about 30 min. Tech was very customer service oriented and professional. Pointed out that my hot water heater (installed early last year by a different contractor) was not up to code and recommended installation of a long pipe to prevent exploding valve (my term.) Estimated cost would be an additional $90 for about 15 min. worth of work.
