After 25+ years it was time to redo my foyer/living room/dining space. Barbara Feinstein's design genius transformed the space into a modern, liveable, beautiful version of what I wanted. She is very creative. She listened to my goals and didn't try to talk me into anything I wasn't comfortable doing. She has an outstanding team of vendors: painter, carpenters, electrician, artwork hanger. She was respectful of my budgetary requirements. She showed me pictures of furniture selections and didn't try to talk me into one over another. If a piece of furniture became unavailable she came up with very good alternatives. She didn't shy away from working on a small project. This was my first decorating experience so I was a novice to how things work, so there were some frustrations, but we worked through them and the end result is outstanding. I am so enjoying living in the space Barbara designed.

Barbara is our insurance policy against costly design errors that my husband and I would have inevitably made had we tried to tackle decorating our home on our own. We have in the past tried to decorate on our own and proved to ourselves that all we could do was create buyer's remorse. Our initial impressions of Barbara were so favorable that we decided up front that she would design our entire home. My husband and I are not shoppers or design stars - we were essentially clueless on the topic, and found it difficult to verbalize what we wanted. We loved to work with Barbara because she has a way of drawing out what your tastes are and working with you to achieve a look and a feel that you're aiming for. Barbara stood out because she asked a lot of questions, listened to us and came very prepared for each meeting. It took Barbara a relatively short amount of time to get enough of a sense for what we liked so that there was not a lot of back and forth on selections. Barbara is incredibly detailed, very patient and resourceful. Barbara very successfully addressed our main design concerns: space challenges and light issues common to NYC apartments. We also had some size challenges:- I am of average height, but my husband is quite tall - we have always had a problem with chairs and sofas. Barbara very patiently took us through the process so that we were sure that all of our sofas and chairs would be equally comfortable for both of us. We can't be happier with Barbara's work- it also doesn't hurt that we get tons of validation from everybody that visits.
